Are cholesterol tests a scam to sell medication? It seems like every year they lower the LDL limits.I've had the same 105 LDL results since 2014 and it wasn't "high" then. Now they consider it too high in 2025 and want to put me on medications.I run and exercise enough have a resting BPM of 47 + 110/59 blood pressure.
>>76666422>checkedyeah
>>76666422had a doctor tell me cholesterol was 80% genetic. said there is fuckall you can really do about it, other than take hardcore drugs to bring it down. argued with another doctor who eventually went on some 'heart disease' risk calculator and chucked in my digits (i was 38 and smoking at the time as well). Prediction was an increased chance of heart disease in later life of 3% or something. I laughed at the cunt
>>76666422(((Doctor))) They doctor the facts
>>76666422105 LDL is very good. under 100 is optimal, 100-130 is ok, 130-160 is borderline too much, over 160 you should fix your diet and take 20mg a day atorvastatinet. MD
>>76666467it was a the QRISK3 and it sounds like a reasonable risk for 38 yo with mild risk factors. Take.into account the risk includes asymptomatic stuff like hypertension
LDL and HDL is for retarded boomers.Check Apo A1, Apo B, Lp(a), triglycerides and LPIR score
>>76666422>Are cholesterol tests a scam to sell medication?>It seems like every year they lower the LDL limits.Yes, and not just to sell meds.Cholesterol has an effect on your hormones and brain health, so the lower it gets…
I genetically had 240-260 LDL and couldn't train my legs with heavy weights, was just fainting and vomiting. I'm not overweight and perfectly healthy otherwise.Low dose of statins completely solved the issue and even my bench press went up.
>>76666422bro the thing that is the number one disease process that kills people before a full lifetime should probably be given a great deal of fine tuned importance in prevention
>>76667671by process i broadly mean loss of heart-lung function due to atherosclerosis and hypertension and cardiovascular disease generally
>>76667674congrats on having excellent biomarkers tho, you are a rarity among the tested population and it is a valid question whether you ought to be in the pool
Pretty useless biomarker
WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE WORRIED ABOUT Cholesterol ???DYING OF HEART ATTACK > DYING SLOWLY OF CANCER
>>76666422I have 126 total and 40 hdl, how is that looking? I'm also not thin so idk how that happened
>>76667695living with a stroke aint very skibidi
>>76667844So why are heart attacks getting more and more common despite new lower cholesterol requirements?30yrs ago a 200+ LDL was normal and a non-issue.Suddenly a 100+ score requires medication GOY.Are they just trying to sell medication?
>>76668370Yes there's not any serious study that correlate high cholesterol and heart attacks .Yes, statins are the best seller of medicines
>>76668395I'm pretty sure there are studies that correlate high cholesterol to heart attacks. But I think that's typically higher numbers like LDL 175+But I don't know if they're factoring in for people that are just insanely overweight at those levels.
get on repatha
>>76667611Kek, you will simply not have bad apo B scores if you have under 100 LDL cholesterol
>>76668395You are so retarded The largest and best studies in medicine are about cardiovascular risks, because it affects so many people. But it's simple to not look into them at all
