Why do their punches look so slow and weak on tv. Borderline looks fake. I know they are the best and have hard punches but in steeet fight videos haymakers and jabs look way faster.

This is pure speculation on my part, but in a street fight most people don't know what they're doing and the first hit is decisive. As such throwing wild, fast punches is an entirely valid strategy. Against a pro fighter who can counter you in various ways (slipping, parrying, counterstriking, grappling etc) it pays to be more careful and take more time setting up a good punch. I imagine it's also why in a professional match you'll sometimes see the fighters just standing there for a second, something you never see in a street fight.

First of all, there aren't many good boxers in MMA. If you want crisp punches, watch boxing or kickboxing.

Second, those streetfighters you mentioned couldn't lay a finger on any of these guys, because even tho the punch looks fast, they can see it coming from miles away by the way the streetfighter telegraphs it with his body. Basically all the movement before the punch.

In MMA, it's all about setting traps with feints, forcing ur opponent to dodge in the wrong direction and hit them clean with a good punch, where you don't go all out full force and speed. Why? Because if you miss you are now putting your chin on a platter for them to counter punch you and knock you out. You also need to be able to fight 5 rounds, if you throw punches at max speed u'll be drained after 1 round.

Because when you're good enough you know what the other guy will do, and he knows that you know what he'll do, and you know that he knows that you know what he'll do.
Now double that since its also true on the other side.
It may seem boring but its all about judging reactions, positions, and timing.
You dont want to get countered, you dont want to get a knee while trying a take down.
Nobody in the street has this knowledge so they just smash the buttons. Pros "nerf" themselves against each other to not get hit.
Kinda like pic rel where they just stare each other for a few chapters before ending a fight in one hit.
Usually they drop this "nerf" when they're scrambling or in a combo or when there's only a few seconds left because fuck caution.
Watch a muay thai fight. The first two rounds is all about tip toeing each other, and the 3rd round is a banger because they both know the distance and reaction of each other.

Only in the US.

>they are the best
When it comes to punching? Lmao no, average pro boxer would annihilate any MMA tranny, even a weight div above them
