Has your family helped or hurt you along the course of your fitness journey?
when i work out at home, my wife counts my reps and applauds after every set
>>76669832Your wife sounds 'tarded. Congratulations.
>>76669800Helped, my brother showed me how to lift and was my gym partner for a long time. My dad thinks its great even though he fat. Nobody has ever been negative about it.
>>76669832That's fucking cool bro. I hope I can get a wife that good someday.>>76669800Neutral mainly, but I'm an extremely independent and self-driven person.
>>76669871Ofcourse his wife is retarded, she's a woman.
>>76669800Mom's the one who noticed me doing crappy calisthenics and bought me a gym membership when I was a teen. Dad coached me at the beginning and got me a physical copy of starting strength. I think they've helped me, yes.
>>76669800Parents divorced, father was 500 lbs by my 15th birthday, mother was the weekend visit and showered me with snacks and gifts as a result. Entering adulthood a decade ago I had a completely warped sense of normal portions, meal schedule, hunger queues, etc. and no cooking skills or go-to recipes to speak of. To this day I consider cooking an effort post but don’t stock my fridge with any easy grabs to prevent passive overeating, just fresh ingredients that mostly spoil, as I’ll default to a fast food run twice a day. Honestly I can keep calories okay, but I can tell the lack of nutrients is really getting to me.

>>76669800I started working out because my mom forced me to do so as teen and it became a part of my routine like showering and brushing my teeth.Other than that she says i shouldn't get too big like the fitness coaches at the gym (whenever i used to get advice with some of them) and she shows me pictures of skinny or dyel celebrities saying i should aim to look like them. she gives me shitty advice that she used to hear in the 80s or that she finds on facbook, besides that no one was really involved in it from my family
>>76669800they are a huge support. they are really happy that i'm working out
>>76671695My Mum is similar. Will randomly buy sweets for me as a "treat"' and complains that I'm too thin whenever I've lost weight (most my adult life been overweight so this is literally just me trying to get down to a healthy weight).Whenever I haven't seen her for a while it's the first thing she'll mention unless I've put on a bunch of weight recently. Having gains goblins family fucking sucks and makes you resent seeing the person as you know they'll make some pissy remark
>>76669800lmao>"you merely adopted the crab bucket; i was born in it, molded by it"
>>76669800>Has your family helped or hurt you along the course of your fitness journey? Most of my family and friends have been supportive. My sister has becoming increasingly vocal about how I shouldn't lift the more in shape I get. My boyfriend was really against me lifting when I started and broke up with me when I started boxing.
>>76671759She sounds based in a way even though they should be your dad's job
>>76669800The usual ”aren’t you fit enough already?”
Mostly neutral. Aunt is a wine vacations childless typical blonde cardiobunny and I mostly ever only talk fitness with her and go jogging with her, rest of family doesn't really care and dad is fat but extremely active (farm owner)However the 1 gains goblin is my wife and that's almost expected. I try to make time for lifting and running, but I'm also getting showered with errands and tasks as a family man, and I'm thinking of telling everyone to suck my dick
