Why aren't nerd jacked like their role models?
>>
>4 15lb plastic plates plus a metal 10lb
>that retarded, crooked forearm placement
>185lb ACK press
>>
>>76671003
>4 plate and a quarter JM press
>>
>>76671003
Because for better and worse they know their role. They're not the hero and too cucked to even try to be.
>>
>>76671050
On an incline bench that starts from the neck up.

Safeties off, of course.
>>
>>76671003
Because that would mean hard work, and nerds are, above all, fucking weak and lazy.

That's also why they always look for shortcuts and secret knowledge.
>>
>>76671003
Because their hobbies are sedentary.
>>
>>76671003
Half the jacked guys in my gym are wearing batman or goku shirts and there's one that will corner you to talk about warhammer 40k given the slightest opportunity
>>
>>76671003
Because it takes an actual effort.
>>
>>76671278
Modern gymbros are nerds who have lifting as special interest. Back in the 80's and 90's people like Stallone and Arnold inspired thousands, if not millions around the world, to hit the gym. But for the past twenty years or so, it's been Goku, Guts, Baki or whichever anime character the motivators. Not to mention wanting to look the part for a cosplay at a con
>>
>>76671149
> That's also why they always look for shortcuts and secret knowledge.

Damn, called me out. I was a fucking shameful loser as a young guy.
>>
>>76671381
This. I regularly see guys in dbz shirts lifting
>>
>>76671003
Some giganerds go full autistic on fitness. They take it as a videogame to beat. I have one friend who only goes to work, watches anime, plays games and lift. That motherfucker went from absolute twink to mass monster without even roiding, he just autistically ate a ton of food and lifted. He didnt even aim to be aesthetic, he just wanted to larp as a strong guy until he eventually became one.
>>
>>76671435
Larp as a strong guy until you become one is probably some of the best advice you'll come across here.
>>
>>76671435
Sounds pretty based, ngl.
>>
>>76671149
>>76671421
All those hours I spent reading Crowley and Solomon's keys and learning to astral project are going to pay off, any day now (someone post the comic with the nordic student plane crash).

I think the answer is that to some degree, they are nerds for a reason and by then it's too late and their genes can't handle it. Also, cope about how if you put stats in INT, you don't have stats left for STR/DEX. They ignore that fitness is the #1 booster of IQ, etc. Some of them do get swole though, but they are the ones that ended up nerds by accident.
>>
>>76671149
>That's also why they always look for shortcuts and secret knowledge.
Lifting weights is one of the best secret shortcut out there tho
>>
>>76671543
>They ignore that fitness is the #1 booster of IQ
WTF! Is this true?
>>
>>76671447
Fake it until you make it is literally how you transform your body from dyel to juicy.

There are a few arguments you can make, like increased energy efficiency/blood flow to your brain.

Obese people actively starve their brain of this nutrient flow. Scrawny people are like sickle cell compared to fit people.
>>
>>76671003
the vast majority of people lack the discipline to actually be like their role models. it's entirely a performative endeavor for them, not actual motivation.
>>
>>76671543
You need to listen to warrior philosophers who preached fitness , not dyel fags
>>
>>76671003
Why waste time working out when you can read more comics?
>>
>>76671003
gymcelling is the new nerd hobby thoughbeit
>>
>>76671718
Crowley wasn't DYEL until he got old and desperate. Iirc he was a really good mountaineer as well as a top-tier chess player, then achieved nothing after taking up the occult.

That was my way out - realizing that no one ever achieved anything after taking up occult practices.
>>
>>76671003
nerds have good taste in fiction and have been exposed to enough good material to know that reality cant possibly compete.
>>
>>76671003
Because they are lazy, glutinous slobs

They don't like the idea of a hero, they like the idea of them miraculously being gifted incredible powers
>>
>>76671743
Well, it's called occult for a reason. Perhaps what they achieved is something they don't want advertised to the world.
>>
>>76671760
I have to agree. There are few of these comic stories where the protagonist gained their abilities through effort. It's almost always obtained via accident.
>>
>>76671769
Sure, but I also realized that's cope. They all claim to want to help people uncover their hidden potential, etc. If so, take an IQ test, earn some money, win at a sport, etc.

If we go with your theory, there is no point in listening to those who do talk about it. It's also a really low-chance-of-success investmnet, basically. Easier to become a multi-millionaire then to get the psi-wheel to spin.
>>
>>76671715
this. how many adult male sports fans are obese?
>>
>>76671760
>>76671783
Nail in the head, most popular animes are characters who a special right out of the gate without any of the brutal grind to get there.

My dad was like that too, brilliant man, nuclear engineer, academy graduate. Despised physical activity, saw it as beneath him.
>>
>>76671801
>Despised physical activity, saw it as beneath him.
Not so brilliant then. Completely serious.
>>
>>76671808
Nuclear school as a Naval Officer Academy Graduate is incredibly rare and competitive. To say he wasn’t is untrue. I find the most intelligent men are typically very skinny or very fat but not morbidly obese level.

I agree your sentiment tho, he let himself go so much that small fall was enough to give him a brain bleed. He tripped over a tomato plant, and slowly died over a month.

how many of them are obese and never played the sport? yet they sit in their chairs and get mad that the actual players didn't do things the way they wanted.
>>
>>76671844
Goku is the fit role model imo
>>
>>76671834
Sorry to hear that man.

>>76671844
Still a chakra cheater.
>>
>>76671003
Most of them are nowadays because of the fitness influencer culture mixed with the nerd culture, boomer nerds and early millennial nerds weren't jacked because their culturesn didn't overlap.
>>
>>76671860
I got into hockey as an adult but I can't skate
>>
>>76671874
There were a lot of closet nerds that were jacked back then
>>
>>76671867
No it's Vegeta because everyone below 7 feet thinks he's a manlet
>>

>>
>>76671900
Martial arts and weightlifting/calisthenics went hand in hand
>>
Lifting stopped being a hobby for chads and homosexuals and now it's fully of normie redditor losers thanks to social media and easy access to gear online. In the old days those guys would lift for a few months, make no progress then give up
>>
>>76671834
I am sorry.
RIP.
>>
>>76671381
unironically this, I'd say the number of guys lifting my age who think Goku is awesome outnumbers the ones who don't know who he is.
>>
>>76671715
this is why more and more people are idolizing obese celebrities like Lizzo.

>"Wow, she looks like me!"
rather than
>"Wow, I wish I looked like that!"
>>
>>76671543
Hoping I’m only a nerd by accident.
For me it was less about finding secrets to skip the work than it was that I was so anxious about coming to gym culture later than other guys that I wanted to make sure to do everything perfectly so I could catch up.
>>
>>76671874
different types of nerds
comic/anime nerds are still out of shape lazy fucks (except for a small percentage who get ripped for cosplay and to bang girls at cons)
engineering nerds are ripped as fuck because of their autism they can eat the same meal prep foods every day and follow a routine to the letter
>>
>>76672555
Fun fact, Lizzo took Ozempic and cut the weight, and those same people have taken to criticizing her for it.
Same thing happened to Adele, and I think her weight loss came before the miracle cure.
>>
>>76671149
That's not true at all.
Now can someone redpill me on testmaxxing so I can look like my favorite capeshit character without doing anything?
>>
>>76671760
Most are liberal retards, if they really supported heroes they'd be against crime immigrants and niggers
>>
>>76671844
>Rock Lee
>Displays insane skills but ultimately loses against gaara
>Gets crippled
>Literally does nothing of value on the entire series
With so many black pilled defeatist faggots on fit I would say you're right.
>>
In high school, I was a jacked nerd. In college, I stopped workimg out and gained 30 to 50 pounds over about 4 and a half years. All through that time, I had an easy time getting laid. Bitches don't care if you have abs, can bench 3 plates, or run a 5 minute mile. I was literally my goofy chubby self, cracking jokes, and casually hooking up with bitches the whole time. I didn't lose the weight and start getting /fit/ until grad school -- but I only did that because I starting to become pre-diabetic. I still could have gotten laid as a fatass. kek

Toji is a better role model anyways
>lived rent free in the minds of the two greatest sorcerers for like a decade after his death
>packed up a special grade curse as a mindless zombie
>buckbroke Geto so hard he became sorcerer supremacist and tried to genocide normie humanity
>Gojo literally adopted his son and copied his drip for his final fight
>>
>>76671003
I'm a "nerd". Most of "my role models" aren't super jacked and just pilot the robot. Yet I lift. I intend to see how strong I can get.
>>
>>76671003
They aren't because their "role models" aren't their role models, at all. Most comic books nowadays are filled with characters that are literally built for nerds to self-project. For example, Absolute Superman is literally jacked, and says the things some left-leaning nerds say. Their role models aren't calling them out, nor are they trying to challenge their views in any meaningful way, it's pretty much masturbation, except, they get to self-project and feel powerful without actually being strong, beautiful and jacked. Then, again, it really depends on the person. Usually, the nerds who actually get jacked and start getting bitches give up their former nerd hobbies and I think it's because they don't need escapism anymore. Not saying all /co/mics are bad, usually the older stuff is good and actually calls you out on your BS and one nerd I knew read those, he kinda fell off the comics wagon after achieving otter mode but sometimes, he still reads old shit. Most comics nowadays don't do that and it's basically just consoomer porn for people that don't want to deal with their lives, basically, the majority of nerds.

I've always wondered that too. Some anime nerds will watch hundreds of hours shonen which is generally about working hard and never giving up to overcome your limits or help your friends, and then they'll just be skinnyfat never worked out a day in their lives.

most media does not properly show what fitness is like

it's not a 'training arc' and then you fight a boss, fitness is a thing you do every day.

to properly encapsulate fitness, if a comic book arc is 8 issues, every issue needs 2 pages of just doing pushing and jogging, but repeating scenes is not customary, it doesn't feel like the plot is flowing anywhere.

fiction is plot-driven, but real life is habit-driven.

It's alright as far as shounen goes. Main villian does alot of asspulls in the final fight, alot of side characters introduced do nothing story wise. The only really bad things people mention is nigger tier poor reading comprehension and lack of theme understanding.
>>
>>76671715
It's not just fitness. They look up to moral heroes, then bend the knee and take the shot when everyone around them does it.
