>go to Decathlon >not a single person there looks like they've done any physically exerting activity for more than 5 minutes in their lifeGrim
Its a french company, what do you expect
>>76672574They have good lifting liquid chalk
>>76672619They have half-decent cheap everything at least where i live but going there is depressing, not even the workers look like they do any sports or physical activity
What exactly did you expect? Retailkeks are there to stand around and sell shit, why would they be fit. Most people go there to buy season-appropriate jackets and walking sticks for nordic walking. Besides everyone I know just buys online nowadays, only old and fat clueless people go to retail stores.
>>76672574Drcathlon is not for people who actually do sports. It's for people who dress in cheap athleisure because tgey've given up on life. Sometimes they have something half decent for cheap, but that's it.>>76672619Aye, I concede that.
>>76672660This. I know a guy whos kinda mentally challenged (i dont know exactly whats wrong with him). Hes a die hard sports fan and player, fit as fuck, played in several sports teams, he knows every single piece of equipment of any sport, he can follow conversations and answers correctly anything you ask. The guy landed a job at a decathlon store, it was his dream and the guy was perfect for the job, everyone loved him there except for the managers, ofc. Coworkers would not know shit about sports and ask him about everything, long story short he had to quit the job and every single coworker protested against the managers because the guy was great at it. I will never forget the time when i was starting lifting at home, went to pick up an order of 10kgs in 2kg plates and some fucking dyel from the staff brough it to the counter plate by plate, guy even suggested me to go get a cart, i just picked the stack and took it to my car, i was a fucking dyel at that time but even my grandma could carry 10kgs no problem, shit was insane to me. #justiceforfittards
>>76672574their kalenjin kiprun shoes are really comfy and got me into running and i've heard their bikes are ok. still mad i didn't grab me a st520 or whatever mid-level model they had in a year end sale for $200 US
>>76672574>go to decathlon>every girl working there is 20-22 and been a handpicked to be a hot as fuck
>>76672623>>76672574>>76672834>>76673775>>76673758>2025>going to physical storeslmao how retarded or old are you
>>76673838how u posed to find out about cool shit you didn't know about then? online shopping is weird and makes me feel like a fish trying to avoid a baited hook
Decathlon is pretty good for some stuff, they have some cheap gym cloth that are decentI used to have 130 euros running shoes that hurt my toes, i said fuck it and bought their kiprun shoes for 43 euros, it has hundred of km and use it 3 times a week, no issue. they have some good bags too. a few good things but need to look for it. don't actually go there for any advice, vendors don't know shits
Went there for the first time 2 days ago. I thought it was gonna be expensive, professional gear but it's mostly budget shite. I think I will go there again to buy some shoes and maybe check out some lifting equipment (if they even have any).
>>76673838Bulky stuff you often get raped on shipping and or quality. I always but that stuff irl.
>>76673838t. friendless incel
>>76673899>I thought it was gonna be expensive, professional gearwut, the whole brand is based on offering good bang for your buck stuff, it's often useful for people who want to dabble into some sport or hobby without shelling out for the premium equipments but also without resorting to random chink shit. I've been told that the hiking gear, backpacks especially, is more than decent, and indeed anything Forclaz that i've tried has been pretty good. I doubt you'll find much lifting-related stuff, I have a 20kg kettlebell that I got from there and in that moment it was the heaviest one available
>>76673838>>76673948The duality of /fit/.But physical stores are better than online slops, especially for athletic stuff. I wouldn't buy running shoes without trying them on first, I wouldn't buy running apparel and socks without getting a feel for them, I wouldn't buy a bike online without inspecting the local bike shops first.
>>76672660I expected skinny rooooners and hiking nerds. My local one recently brought whey protein to probably appeal to meatheads yet it's still unscatted. Same for the whole "weightlifting" section aside from resistance bands
>>76673962Decathlon is cheap but pretty good. Some of their kiprun stuff are really good and just a fraction of the price of expensive brands. It's nice to have a shop where all the sports and hiking/camping equipment is in one place. Sometimes you want to dabble in a sport that you are a complete noob and you want to get some basic equipment without breaking the back. I really like decathlon, it's nice.
>>76673987>I really like decathlon, it's nicesame, you truly can find a bit of everything (I doubt I could find badminton-related stuff anywhere else that's less than a 2 hour drive away from my home) and it's in the price/quality sweetspot for what most people need. If you are serious about a sport you're probably gonna get your main equipment in more specialized stores focused on name brands (although some cheaper accessories might still be worthwhile), but decathlon's philosophy is more about making cheaper fitness equipment more accessible to the wider, casual public
>>76672574got reminded of this songhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO_UVHKp5G0
>>76673838Personally, I never buy something without trying it on and being sure it fits wellESPECIALLY shoes
>>76674046>>76673987>>76673962Does anybody had any experience with their shoe selection? I'm thinking of getting their NH150 mid cut and I need a half decent pair for doing work around the city
>>76673838>2025>just consume g*y, just user the online shops and order useless ill fitting junk like good n****r cattle, don't support your local communities and jobs, just wire the money to the overseas m*rchantGrim
>>76674077I had a similar model, they were pretty good, and very great value. But the best is always to try them in store (I have weird feet).
>>76674077Try them on. The one thing you should always try before buying is shoes.
>>76674140>>76674150>always try before buying shoesI mean duh thats a given, my next choices are these pairs from skechers and merrells, light, wide & waterproof
>>76672834>people who dress in cheap athleisure because tgey've given up on lifekek this is me
>>76673987>>76674046this, when I first saw them appear in our country/city, I wasn't very happy about it, thought it just another multi-national gigashop coming to push out the smaller local ones or whatever while selling mass-produced low quality slop productsnow whatever they sell may be mass-produced but it seems to be of reasonably good quality and they have fucking EVERYTHING, compared to the local store chains that are just endless rows of fucking shoes and weird sports clothesA few months ago I was shopping for a hammock and it made me realize just how fucking nothing the other stores actually have compared to decathlon, it's not even funny, iirc I went to 2 other sports stores, neither of which sold any hammocks, and in general the camping/outdoor stay items they had on offer were like 10 % of what Decathlon had. Meanwhile nearly anything I could need to go hike and camp outside I can go to Decathlon and get in 20 minutes of shopping.Only thing I'd say they're missing are barefoot/minimalist shoes and I suppose some heavier workout equipment but I can understand the latter being somewhat too niche to be profitable for them to have permastocked an in store
I like Décathlon. Their cheap gear is decent.
>>76674077the Quechua/Forclaz/Simond shoes are of reasonable quality so they should be fine, I usually prefer to go more premium with shoes as I'm a bit fussy about them but those should definitely be more good for their price. I know a few people who got shoes from decathlon for the occasional hike and I never heard them complain>>76674179these seem quite a bit different from the other you posted, rather than the brand the deciding factor should be what type of shoe you want
>>76672574it's the same as dicks' sporting goods or sportcheck
>>76674287>deciding factor should be what type of shoe you wantlike I said: light, wide & waterproofdecathlon's website listing for the Quechua NH150 doesn't have a lot of technical info like stack height, heel to toe drop, lug depth, half pair weight, etc...at least with merrell they do have options for wide feet, which is what I have>https://www.merrell.com/US/en/nova-4-waterproof-wide-width/60178M.html?dwvar_60178M_color=J068395W#cgid=men-featured-wide-widths&prefn1=isOnSale&prefv1=false&prefn2=technologyCollection&prefv2=Waterproof&prefn3=width&prefv3=Wide&start=1
>>76673843ask AI, boomer
>>76674310those NH150 don't look very breathable, if by 'light' you mean warmth-wise and not weight-wise.As someone with constantly hot feet the Merrels look more attractive to me, although I personally dislike those "swinging" soles (but I've become a minimalistic shoes autists over the last few years), and if you plan on walking in them a lot it might be worth it to splurge a bit for something high quality.I too have wide feet but I've never personally used Quechua shoes so I can't tell you if they are on the wider or the narrower side
>>76674327bloody fuck you benchod
Look at this cool rack they sell. That's impossible to use the j hooks and safeties at the same time for squatting or benching. Nice job France.
>>76674405Hey dumbfuck you can move the J hooks to the other side, are you mentally okay?
>>76674420the bench doesn't get in far enough.
>>76673838Seriously, i haven't been to physical stores other than supermarkets in at least 4 years. I have no idea how malls still exist and who shops there.Who would waste time going somewhere to buy something which can be bought for half the price online and delivered to your door for free.
>>76674437women and gays
>>76673758>>76673892what model did you pick?
>>76674138>Decathlon>local community
>>76674289I wandered thru a DSG at a mall recently and it was 80% womens clothing for women too poor and/or fat to shop at lululemon. 15% of the store was shoes by exercise brand names for people who don't actually exercise IRL. The other stuff was a mess like a cross between a thrift store and a dollar general, made me want to shop for weight lifting stuff online. You know how that shitty TV show The Big Bang Theory appropriated nerd culture for normies but was pretty much shite, that was how I felt about DSG its like a parody of what a normie thinks /fit/ people would want but its too DYEL for me to ever intentionally go there again.I donno if thats what a Decathlon store is like.
>>76674437>I have no idea how malls still exist and who shops there.I was just at a mall last thursday. Several stages of decline I've seen there since Y2K:Old white boomer and older ladies. Boomers who grew up at the mall before mall security kicked out all the teenagers (genx don't go to malls because the malls are where those jerk guards would kick them out so they'd go to walmart. Which is making boatloads of money even decades later.)Then it turns hyper minority. Like fifteen stores selling collectible investment grade athletic shoes and unlicensed illegal sportball apparel to people visibly too poor to pay $275 for a fake football jersey, but here they are buying anyway. Three hair straightening salons. That type of clientele. After that it goes 100% mall walker, back to 100% white people, again mostly elderly, but none of them shop. This is around the time the food court shuts down as old people have a meltdown about how burgers at McD used to be fifteen cents so they refuse to pay $9 today for a shitty McD burger.Next its empty except for pop-up stores. That's the state of the mall I walked thru last week, pop up Halloween stores, a flea market where an anchor tenant (Sears, I think) used to be, not much else. Finally physical collapse arrives when the roof caves in during the winter and/or refusal to pay prop taxes and unable to pay utilities so the doors are chained shut one morning.
>>76672574I buy there and can squat 140 and deadlift 180 after 6 months of serious gym
>>76674843those better be kg
meh not a bad place to get cheap stuff. i mostly buy snow sport stuff since its very cheap and I only practice it 3 times a year (if that). their kalenji line running shoes and quechua boots are pretty good for that price. only thing I hate is that if you are very into a sport you wont find much. as some other guys said in the thread they try to sell everything in order to make it very accesible
>>76672574>not a single person there looks like they've done any physically exerting activity for more than 5 minutes in their lifeSo fucking what? Decathlon is great for entry-level activities. You DO want people to actually get in shape, do you, anon? You're not some jaded gymmonkey, aren't you, anon? It's not like people out of shape that want to actually become more active upset you, huh, you fucking cunt?
>>76672574I buy all my clothes there
>>76675382Hello dad. See you this sunday :)
>>76674873If you want I can convert them in hamburgers per square football fields
>>76672574I wonder what's the American equivalent of Decathlon
I like decathlon too, I use it a lot. Snow related stuff is pretty good for the price. Like it's 5-10 time less expensive and at worst maybe half as good. With climbing and snow/mountaineering it's pretty good stuff too. Kind of same quality as petzl but a bit less expensive. Some backpack are nice, but size may be weird for some.
>>76674342>those "swinging" solesexplain
>>76672834>It's for people who dress in cheap athleisure because tgey've given up on lifeyou mean like drunk Russians wearing those track suits?
>>76672574I never heard of this place, but you should see Cabela's in the USA. All big outdoorsmen and Great White Hunters. It makes Walmart look like Weight Watchers.
>>76675521yes please>>76676490probably just an ESL moment on my part but I'll try to explain, you know some shoes have those rounded soles so that they do this rocking motion when you walk that supposedly helps you turn a downward force into forwards momentum, but personally I find it annoying. It's especially common in Hoka shoes. I assumed that's what Merrel meant with the description of their FloatPro technology but looking at those linked shoes again I'm not so sure, maybe they rock a bit but more subtly than other models.Pic related is an exaggerated example, after a quick search they are indeed called "rocking shoes" (like rocking chair, should be obvious but the term didn't occur to me yesterday)
>>76672623U r looking for tent saar?
