170 as of this morning, I'm supposed to be maintaining 180. Again, my guess is the calories Cronometer lists for whole chicken isn't accurate, or at least not accurate for how I'm preparing it (air frying) and I'm not actually eating 4500kcal a day as it suggests I am. I ate 1033g of chicken (aka half of the whole chicken, skin on, bone in, ect), that's measured when cooked, and with the weight of the bones I discarded subtracted from the weight, Cronometer says its 2468kcal and I'm starting to think the real value is much lower than that considering I'm still losing weight eating this everyday for almost two weeks now. I was trying to get number to go back up by eating more to get back up to 180, but my weight is still ticking down.

Trying this greek yogurt as a snack. Its not low fat, but the low fat ones like chobani dont seem to sit well with me. I am going to try have one every second day with some fruit. Any side effects from eating too much greek yogurt? How much did you eat per serve? Did you eat it to help you lose weight? Ok, I reccomend intermittent fast eat for 8 hours, fast for 16 hours, try not to eat anything in between meals, along with this, try one day fast once or twice a week and report back on the progress, in the 8 hours that you eat, I'd say go low carb, eat more fats and protein, it should make you less hungry over all.

BTW, I don't count calories, I just eat once a day until I'm full.

Just got back from the gym, my goal on the bike is to do 5 miles in 20 minutes. I'd say if you can do that on an exercise bike you'll probably be able to go an hour on a real bike since you don't need to be pedaling all the time.

Pretty much realized I'd be dumb to just not do anything about my weight issues so I started calculating how many calories I'd need for maintenance and researched what a healthy deficit value would be. Then I started writing down all the calories I'd eat a day, bought a cheap bike I'm taking for a ride every day for about 10 kilometers which I manage to clear in about 35 minutes if I rush it, but I found that taking it super slow and extending the time spent on the bike actually burns a lot more calories.
Haven't joined a gym but I'm doing bodyweight exercises every day before it's sleepytime.
I have never felt better in my life, it's absolutely insane what a mental boost it is to work on yourself.
Oh and also pic related I wrote myself a small web-app because I didn't like how most apps (like Yazio) tell you how many calories you're supposed to eat. I dunno, maybe I'm on the spectrum after all.

there are many factors at play here. first, you're correct the label is probably wrong. think from the perspective of a food company. when they are deciding how many calories to list they are going to be thinking - 'some dad is going to compare the calorie value of this chicken to the calorie value of beef and if it's too low he's going to buy the beef' so they lie a bit to pump those numbers up. they would never think that obsessed dieters actually want the number on the label to be lower. the amounts can vary by up to 20% without them getting in any trouble with the food labeling regulators.

second, you body processes animal protein differently than carbs. not all of those calories actually get absorbed, especially if that's all you're eating and you eat a lot of it at once like OMAD. if your organs and digestive system can't process all that protein, then all that extra protein just falls into the toilet. there's your calories right there, bro. skeletal third-worlders are weeping into their rice right now reading this.

I haven’t been here since the new year. I once again fell off my new year’s plans once work got busy, and didn’t get back into tracking my calories or working out.

However despite doing nothing actively to lose weight I’m still down ~20lbs (240 -> 220). Which is not a lot obviously, but other hand that is now 80 almost 90lbs from my peak a few years (2023-2024) ago, and 60lbs from 2024 when tried to start losing weight again.

There are 92 days left in 2025. So a mild crunch to be below 200lbs by then. That is ~760kcal deficit a day, which I think if I start using the elliptical or rowing machine again, I can reach.

I’m taking my sweet ass time, but I didn’t get to over 300lbs in a year, it took like 8 years, from the last time I was my goal weight. so I’m ok with taking 4 ish to lose it. And wrapping up in summer or 2026.

Slow small lifestyle changes over time, I think works best for me, so I’m going to keep doing that.

Well I ate 6200 calories today. Average since last binge is 2455. This is on trajectory to 180 pounds, just extremely slow at about a 350 calorie deficit. That's 1 pound lost every 10 days which is atrocious.
What's funny is I wanted to be at most 190 by February and I was extremely confident that I would be able to do it.
Don't know why but suddenly the difficulty just got turned up several levels.
315 to 220 was easy. 220 to 180 is going to be hard. I have no patience for being a fat fuck any more, but eating any less than 2000 calories is starting to be torture. And the fact that the scale weight decreases so slowly makes me frustrated and provokes me to eat more. I've relied so heavily on seeing a little progress every few days. It felt really good. Now the progress slows to a halt and I still look like shit.

I work in retail and Halloween is just the worst fucking time of year. thousands upon thousands of calories of sugary junk being bought every day, and for children at that.
