>55 years old dad
>obese
>alcoholic since 15
>diabetes type 2
>just eats what he wants
>survived cancer years ago
>pancreas doesn't work just takes some medication for it
>casual smoker
>never uses sunscreen just lets his skin burn
>zero exercise
Despite all of this he is still alive and well. Like you would think he suffers from life threatening illnesses but nothing.
Are boomers just built different? My dad is a textbook case of early death but he continues to lives on.

He's not helping the situation and could be in much better. Medicine is just that strong.

Religion
Morals
Self control
>>
Your dad probably has butt cancer growing inside him right now. I'm not kidding, he needs a doctor to put shit up his ass now before it's too late.
>>
>>76690454
Zoomers take everything too seriously. In reality, the shit you obsess about has little to no effect on longevity.
>>
>>76690454
You mean they survive. They can't actually do physical things.
>>
>>76690454
Longevoty is mostly genetics. All the stuff about health and longevity accounts for very little, the bulk of the years you'll get to live was predetermined at the moment of your conception.
>>
>>76690454
55 ain't that old, pal.
>>
>>76690454
Clot shot Vaccines actually cause more health problems than anything else

That’s why teens are getting heart attacks
>>
>>76690454
>that long
>55
do you think people typically die at 40 or something?
>>
>>76690454
>55
Not a boomer
Also he sounds absolutely fucked
>>
>>76690454
55 isn't all that old. But yeah, with a shit lifestyle like that, he's probably only got another 10-15 years. Living healthier into old age is more about being capable in the sunset of your life rather than living forever. On average, a very healthy active person will like to like 80 vs 70-75, but the bigger key is how many of those years are fulfilling and independent. On one hand you have the fat alcoholic smoker who lives to 70. But they are pretty much nothing but an ass in a chair from 60 on. Then you have the fairly active guy that lives to 75-80. And he's mobile and independent until like 73-78 when the more end of life illnesses start popping up.

a prostate examination has always been a faustian bargain. let a male doctor shove two fingers up your pooper and you can live for an additional 10 years. but if you DONT you will DIE. but you will die a straight man with dignity.
>>
>>76690454
The average age of death is like 76 in Burgerstan these days, so 55 is not even too impressive unless you're a historical Korean being compared against a 71 year old nullo, kek.

And if he were a normal-weight-to-overweight non-alcoholic, the odds are pretty good he'd have a working pancreas with no cancer or diabetes and likely a 30-40 year future expected lifespan instead of maybe 10-20.

by leeching off govt funds.

cut off medicare and other low income funds = gone baby gone
>>
>>76690454
55 is gen x now but that dude is going to continue to compile health problems and need more and more medical intervention to maintain that shitty quality of life
>>
Thats puzzled me too.
You can change other things about your body by massive amounts but lifespan barely changes?
Your lifestyle environment can hugely change you but you end up living almost the same amount of time.

e.g. The same person could be POW level emaciated 15 BMI or 45 BMI morbidly obese, a difference of 300%
The same person could be an atrophied skeleton, or Mr. olympia, a difference in muscle mass of 2000%
The same person could sprint 100m in 10 seconds or 30 seconds, a difference of 300%
Your immune system could be AIDS level dogshit or extremely efficient, a difference of 1000% healing times.

But lifespan? That can only increase maybe 10%

That's my dad as well but he eats once a day, drinks a lemonade or coke zero and just lives off cigarettes. He can't work anymore due to 40 years of destroying his body doing a one man labour job. He sued the shit out of the cunt surgeons who fucked up his hands and is hoping for a payout soon. Gotta love baby boomers.
>>
>>76690454
your dad is actually a gen Xer
and 55 is very young, he's not dead because he's still young
but he's doing terribly and probably won't have a very enjoyable existence
my grandma lived til 105 and lived like absolute shit, chain smoking, eating processed crap, never moving
terrible life though, just a torture
>>
survivorship bias

all the ones that had health problems are dead already
>>
He's not a Boomer he's Gen X. And people usually can hang on though their 50s unless they've got some kind of genetic problem or get unlucky and get cancer. Ask again in about 10 years. That's when age starts to knock people off
>>
>>76690454
Despite what people believe, Americans do have access to healthcare and have coverage or can afford it.
>>
>>76692999
Shit's getting worse though. I have a damn good job, and did have good health insurance, but I just found out this year that they are moving to BCBS Coupe. They advertise it as no deductible insurance and it sounded really good at first. But once you dig a little bit deeper, you find out that, while it doesn't have a deductible, it's because they don't bill you at the doctor, they just bill you a month later for the full amount, which you can then pay in interest free monthly installments. Like, why the fuck would I pay $250 a month for that shit? So even though I don't have any health issues, I'm still job hunting now to not get caught with my pants down should something pop up.

This. You can take care of your body, eat lean, exercise and if your genetics are great, you could live a long and pain free life. It warms my heart to know that modern medicine is going to keep fat fuck boomers on goyslop diet alive for a long time in chronic agony.

I used to think my dad was invincible because he smoked his whole life, drank his whole life, ate like shit, constantly mad at shit, always slaving away in the sun. Then bam, he hit his 70s and he started getting a lot of shit. Heart problems, diabetes, water in his lungs. It's sad, man. I don't want to live that long.

Watching your parents age was the most brutal blackpill for me

My parents put their house in my name if anything happens to them. I just just hate thinking about actually owning it.

Sun exposure is incredibly healthy and can make up for many unhealthy habits.

A trade off with getting fatal skin cancer

I know a guy 70+, almost blind, two transplanted lungs, 30 pills every day, blood clots on legs, cancer survivor if I'm not mistaken, etc, etc when he's not in the hospital he chills on his yard drinking beer

I'm told that men who lift until they die have slightly shorter lives, but maintain more muscle mass and mobility as well as better mental function.
I choose quality over quantity.

This. Everyone be scared of a cold these days.
>>
>>76690454
You litteraly said he's a diabetic completely reliant on Exogenous insulin. A fat retard like him only lives as a testament to how far civilization has come.
The more advanced a civilization, the more dysgenic, grotesque, and retarded its citizenry can become and still yet persist.
>>
>>76690454
55 is still working age, that being said he has two chronic conditions that he'll have to treat or suffer from for the rest of his life. this isn't some slam-dunk or his generation being built tough, it's just modern medicine being able to keep one of his feet out of the grave
>>
a combination of modern medicine and the body actually being pretty robust if you exclude terminal illnesses and traumatic injury although he probably will die 10-15 years earlier than he should due to lifestyle choices
>>
>>76690454
we need to get rid of them.
we need a new approach.

It's not 'them' - it's the psychopath CEOs who have fucked over the younger generations.
Moving production overseas and allowing foreign countries to buy up everything.

maybe try lifting
