why is sprinting so brutal? I can run 10 km easy and dont feel anything but this week tried some sprinting and woke up completely destroyed the next day
>>76709333it's a different kind of stimulus, lil nigga
>>76709333bro anyone can run ten meters the duck you in about. that's like from my the Wendy's entrance to the register
Sprinting uses the thighs which no one actually targets except a small number of elites.
Same reason why I can do 6000000 reps with empty barbell but only 8 when I load it properly.
>>767094186 million reps in 1 set? unlikely
>>76709423Yea, my joints will blow out before I finish, same can be said about running, worthless volume.Every single time being able to go faster than walking was useful, I was sprinting, running is the midwit bored cattle's choice
>>76709440I don't run. I just do KB snatches and swings for 20 mins.
>>76709461You can only do sprinting by sprinting.
>>76709468sprinting is for high schoolers and olympians, I do KB snatches and swings
>>76709471Ah so you're a toddler, got it. Have fun, but please stop posting here until you grow up.

Because sprinting is one of the most violent acts you can put your body through. People have literally torn abs, got hernias, fucked their feet and knees sprinting in life and death situations, but that also makes it one of the most spiritual exercise.Sprinting is like fasting for your limbic system. Think about it, when fasting, your body wants to eat. Your body doesn't want to be in a state of [not eat]. Samewise your body doesn't want to be in the state of [sprint] which means max effort turbo level.[Not eat] and [sprint], both of these actions are the furthest away from a desired state of being, furthest away from the desired level of comfort. Both are "life threatening" (in)actions; starvation and fight-or-flight responses (sprinting in this case). So you should sprint.Do sprinting once a week max, but it's more realistic you do it once every 2 weeks, and if you do, make sure to warm up EXTREMELY WELL and prime every single muscle and joint in your body. Your sprinting workout should contain sprints, that's all, and everything you do that whole workout session should be in assistance to your sprints. My favorite way to train sprints is from a dead stop, cold position. Often lying down or kneeling, or facing a wall, then quickly turn around to sprint. That's the best way to train that capacity to violently jerk yourself into turbo max action.
>>76709471There are old shits like me (50s) sprinting, some quicker than others. The training to get there, maintain and then improve puts you in a far better place than you would be without it. As long as you avoid injuries...Added bonus, if you can join a club or group, is training with younger and quicker athletes (my group ranges 16-70, depending on conditions). Raises your game because no one really likes getting left behind.t. old balding white guy

>>76709333Sprinting is high impact. You are running at a pace when it comes to 10k. You are rarely ever lifting your knees high when it comes to running long distance.
>>76709471there's an old guy at my track who's 74 with a sick pack who still sprintshe just does a couple sets, lots of restsprinting is the fountain of youth
>>76710053most times i get injured sprinting are from block starts or kneeling startsI find I'm much safer if I do flying starts and love the feeling of focusing on reaching max velocity for 10-20m with a 30m fly (which is still quite fast)anyway, sprinting is goatedbest thing to pair with powerlifting
>>76710053Good mindset to have, especially for us older anons. I've gotten hurt so many times rowing at max capacity or playing a sport at 95%+ capacity. I should take this advice and truly prep for those type of exercises.
>>76709333Enjoy the hell out of burn while you're able. It's hard on the hips and I'm finding the aftermath is getting to be too much. I'm in my 50s though. It's great exercise, and very satisfying when you hit every stride just right
