if you can do pushups at all you can start with #5. You can use his program which has pushups twice a week and has an app to guide that if you don't want to just read it off the website, or do dogcrapp or whatever. Core of dogcrapp is

There are people who get stuck doing cope bitch pushups at 25+ reps without being able to do 1 pushup because they don't know to progressively decrease the angle gradually, and actually doing that is more difficult tjan adding 0.5kg microplates on a dumbbell and continuing to lift.

At some point you have to delve deep into it if you want to make proper gains. It's the reason normies stagnate after a certain point, home gym or not. Everyone who seriously gets into lifting go through a period of 1~2 years where they are just learning and making mistakes along the way, it's part of the process. You are overcomplicating it. It's important to know all those things, but that's for optimization. Anatomy, diet and technique are the first things you should understand, and there are countless resources on the internet that will teach you all the basics in just a week. You don't need to know why lateral raises train your side delts, at least not as a beginner, but you know it does (because the internet/instructor told you) so you just do it. Beginners will often develop some intuition after a few months just from training and making mistakes. Like I've said, technique is one of the first things you should be learning and there are tons of resources available online, including videos. Beginners also aren't benching 3pl8s mate. They have more than enough time to learn proper technique/exercise for their genetics at that point. And yes, most of the time you WILL feel something wrong before it goes terribly bad. People just hide that information from others because they know they made a mistake.

Take it from me, OP. When I started training, I was malnourished from internet addiction and weighed around 55 kgs at 6'0. Started by just slowly doing calisthenics at home and jogging. I got a pull-up bar at my home and worked up to doing a couple reps, which was hard at first as I was the weakest man I knew. Years went by, joined the gym, did some squats, ate seriously, and now I'm 30 kg heavier and in much better shape, still not strong or big, but at least I look like a human now. I've since not gotten rid of my internet addiction and mostly messed up, but the one thing I will never regret is starting to train. I fear to think what kind of man I would be had I not made that choice.
As advice for you and as other anons have already said, just start with push-ups on your knees and work up to doing proper ones. Get a pull-up bar, and start training for a pull-up by doing negatives (look up "negative pull-ups"). You will be frustrated by your lack of strength, but don't let that feeling overcome your desire to train. The only way to improve at something is to train it, giving up means you will be stuck at the bottom forever. The idea that you are in some way malformed because you are weak is both a limitation you place upon yourself and an excuse to not try. Try, fail, and try again, fail again, start back up again, never stop, never give in.

consider the form cues. watch the video. pay attention to your body. It's not supposed to hurt. You might have passively absorbed some hype language about feeling the burn or pushing through pain, but 'the burn' is lactic acid buildup, and pushing through pain is something you can do for a gold medal if you want, not general fitness.
it's a low volume bodyweight exercise, it's not going to break your back.
You're not taking steroids, your muscles aren't going to outgrow your tendons.
You're not strong or athletic, so your muscles can't do much and your neuromusculature is too cautious to let you do much that's approaching dangerous to begin with.
but what you can still do is warm up a little before exercise, and pay the closest attention to what you're doing at failure. Don't flop into a position that injures you.

Oh i got shrekt under 95lbs as a teenager but it healed fully now the other shoulder is fucked. If you go 100% a machine is good to drop it but they dont make them heavy enough for benching much over 3pl8s. Id suggest pre fatiguing then doing low rep maxes to get 80% results.

Idk if youre asking but brace core serratus and dont go so low or to where your shoulder falls out of position, keep it tight and in the pocket or fail the rep. If it seems to easy go heavier then do full rom later. I have a 7ft wingspan i probably have more benching techniques down than most pros.
