Count calories, all of them.

Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Not just feel, I am still fat. The fat hangs loose in my sagging skin so its easy to see, its really unpleasant to look at. But rather than dropping another 20lbs and trying to get lean I wanted to try maintenance for a few months. Supposedly the fat will redistribute and the skin will tighten up a little if I manage to maintain over the coming year. Ive only been maintaining for about a month now and I can already see how easy it is to start gaining it back. If you have trouble giving up treats, try to get into healthier treats. cut up apple slices are nice, buy some grapes, have some mandarin oranges, maybe you can get into dried fruits.
If you drink soda, buy a bunch of different teas, and try one you like. Hell, even have it with similar amounts of sugar at first if you are addicted to the sweet white, we're just trying to get you onto a different drink first, and then once you found a tea you like, we can reduce how much sugar you need in it. Eventually it will taste just fine with barely any, or even none.
I know purists will tell you to just cut it all out, but if going cold turkey on everything unhealthy is too difficult, switching to healtier alternatives is better than failing and shoveling chocolate down your gullet.

if you're on a budget usually ground chicken or ground turkey goes for pretty cheap at the grocery store. With the size of it you can really load up on the greens/rice/beans too. Last year I was up to 330, in May I started walking about 20k steps a day, was down to 250 by the end of the year on 1500 cals a day. Got depressed again and started binge eating junk food while bed rotting, got up to 303 as of last Sunday. I decided on Saturday to meal prep for 1600 cals, 181g of protein a day.

Already down 5 lbs since Sunday, hoping to be down to 182/10% body fat by middle of next year. Working bike rides, weight training and walking back in. Everything tracked with my Garmin watch, Cronometer, Renpho Bluetooth scale. All food is weighed out to portion for the meal prep.

Hate myself for falling off the wagon like that, but it's time to get myself back on track. I think I can get down to 10% body fat by August of next year.

diet: cut out PUFA and avoiding starch and fibre , eating low fat most of the days of the week, on these days I eat lots of gelatinous gummies, fruits, juice, etc, and on the days where im not eating low fat I eat some high quality fats like butter or milk and I eat it with some protein as well.
been on the journey for about 3 months.
didn't go to the gym, only workout I did was walking throughout university, stayed relatively low stress and chill
