I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t you want to tailor your workout around peer reviewed literature?
>>76722845Because the studies are bullshitBullshit methodologyBullshit dataBullshit resultsBullshit "reviews"And bullshit suggestions for the average person
>>76723182>every study that was ever conducted is bsSounds like a cope. You're orobably too dumb to pick through the liturature and decide for yourself.
>>76723359Not him but these science based guys like jeff nippard did a near 180 on their high volume recommendations from 5 years ago with the whole 40+ weekly set craze that they defended repeatedly because "the literature" showed that there was a never ending dose-relationship between volume and hypertrophy.Well as it turns out not a single one of those people actually ever trains the way that they promoted all these years and a bunch of them had great results with far lower volumes(lower than the minimum recommendations that they used to promote).Do you remember mike israetel, jeff nippard, brad schoenfeld, milo, pak all defending ridiculously high volumes? Well not a single one of them trains with such volumes, why is that? What explains this discrepancy between their recommendations and how they actually train? What comes to mind is the fact that they know what they preach doesn't work for themselves but since they market themselves as science based they have to defend it otherwise they would need to attack the labs and research teams involved in said research many of which are accountancies of theirs. There are many reasons why someone should ignore what studies show works, the main one is that when measuring results the measurement method itself can make or break the concluding findings of a study. All muscle size measurements like CSA and MT have a margin of error that might override whatever tiny changes that natural trained lifters might experience during an exercise trial and the measurement protocol itself has a massively wide range of results even within the same individuals. There are studies showing that trained lifters after doing ONE workout can increase a muscle's cross sectional area by 9% if measured within 72h after that singular workout. To put things in prespective, that's roughly the level of change in CSA that you see in most resistance exercise studies that run for 8-12 weeks.Let's not even mention how useless DEXA scans are.
>>76719357Sit my ass down and open my ears because I TRUST THE SCIENCE BIGOT
>>76722845The "science" panders to the average. They take the average results and publish it as absolute truth. The thing is, that every person has a genetic coding that differentiates how they respond to stimulus. You have to figure out for yourself what works best for your body instead of blindly "trusting the science". Also because the "scientific" approach is extremely boring and soulless, I rather make 90% of the gains I could make and have fun, than make 100% of the gains and do things I don't like.

>>76723359Go ahead and let those Mumbai university studies contradicting decades of common sense inform your workouts. Now that I think of it, I haven't seen a single person praising Jeff or Mike get noticeably bigger over the years.
