Do you sleep on the floor anon? Been doing it recently and it feels so good for some reason.
>>
>>76719462
I did this for a year and it helped posture + made you want to get up when you wake because its not comfy.

Sleep quality wasn't good, so not worth it.
>>
>>76719462
Get a matrass hardness that is appropriate for your weight.
>>
>>76719462
Yes but I got one of those tempurpedic mattress "toppers" that's the really nice material but cooling and just 3 inches or so. When you lie on it, it depresses all the way to the firm ground but gives some nice support around the edges. Feels like the best of both worlds to me.
>>
>>76719462
No I don't because I'm not a fucking caveman.
>>
>>76719558
Its just comfy, man.
>>
sleeping on a really hard surface like on the floor is a meme, but on a semi hard surface with just a bit of cushion (like some beds without a mattress) is pretty nice instead of those stupid mattresses
>>
my bed was hurting my back the other night so I went to sleep on my carpeted floor with a blanket underneath. I haven't felt so comfortable in a bed as I was on the floor in years.

I have a few thermarest stuff and mats but recently have just been raw flooring it and feel so good

Hijacking this thread to ask a question: Are these "gel infused memory foam" mattresses any good for sleep quality and health? There's a giant crater in my wireframe mattress where I used to do dumbell flies and the metal wiring in it is all fucked to shit and sticking out the bottom.

I need a new mattress and came to /fit/ to ask what mattresses are good for sleep quality (yes this is health related) and by chance of miracle found this thread.

>There's a giant crater in my wireframe mattress where I used to do dumbell flies
Kek.
Also i wish i could help you but i literally sleep on the floor.
>>
>>76720845
the bed is actually the perfect place to do dumbell flies. You can get your weight under it by pushing your elbows under the weight and springing the weight up to not waste any effort getting the weight up. Unfortunately I don't think my bed was meant to handle 500 pounds of person in one spot.

>another meme that mimics the life of a poor person
I really never stand these types of memes. It does nothing other than give you some cope as to why you aren't living a normal life.
In reality, not the internet, nobody sleeps on the floor unless they can't afford it. Anyone who tells you they like sleeping on the floor are lying and they all get poor quality of sleep. I used to sleep on the floor because I was poor for about 20 years of my life. It doesn't do anything other than give you broken ass sleep and hip pains if you are a side sleeper
>>
>>76720905
>Can't into floor sleep
This thread isn't for you.
>>
>>76720911
Did you miss the part where I said I slept on the floor for 20 years? You also want to argue with lifters who have more experience than you with your dyel arguments?
>>
>>76720929
Why were you doing something that you don't like for so long?
>>
>>76720959
Did you miss the part where I said I was poor? Do you know how to read?
>>
>>76720967
Something about your tone makes me believe you are lying about some aspect of your story
>>
did this nigga bump his own thread
>>
>>76721006
Are you seriously having trouble believing someone being too poor to afford a mattress for most of their life? You also want to tell me how you always lived with some sort of computer your whole life and can't believe how any kid could live without one?
>>
>>76721024
Something about how you came into this thread chimping out and have only got more mad makes me think some part of your story is fabricated
>>
I sleep on the ceiling. Way better.
>>
>>76721030
>I didnt like how you talked to me so I need to make an argument out of this to bump the thread
>>
>>76721061
Talk to me however you want bro, its your life. What I'm saying is that based on how you talk to people it is clear that you lie often.
>>
>>76721080
>trust me, im an expert youtube psychologist
>>
>>76721095
I operate purely off gut feeling and my gut is telling me that you are an angry person. Are you still poor? Why would you be so angry if you are not poor anymore? This is what I mean, a short look into my logic; if you clawed your way out of 20 years of poverty, why would you still be such an angry soul as to take a fat shit all over my comfy floorsleeping thread? It doesn't make sense unless you are lying about some part of the story. Good day sir.
>>
>>76721107
>im not angry
>ur angry
>let me reply again so i can have the last post
>>
>>76719462
I sleep on the floor, but the only benefit I see is saved space.
>>
>>76721357
That's a pretty big benefit if nothing else. It also means you can be comfortable sleeping almost anywhere, meanwhile mattresscels need 200 pounds of springs to feel Okay.
>>
>>76721564
>implying people cant just sleep on the floor and you need superpowers to do it
anon, there is nothing special about this. it just seems like you want to feel special
>>
>>76719462
i did for 4 years, really liked it. i live in a hot hellhole now so i have to use a real bed because of bugs, but i hope i can get back to it in a couple years.
>>
>>76721571
Notice the guy sperging out for 70 messages above in the thread how floorsleeping gives you broken sleep and pains. I believe in the modern world where people sleep on beds from the day they leave their mother's wombs, yes it is special to be able to endure tougher conditions and stay healthy.
>>
>>76721574
>yes it is special to be able to...
God damn you're autistic. Don't speak unless you are actually significantly healthier, there is nothing special about it.
>>
>>76721574
Sorry, I meant this >>76721590 post to be for >>76721578
Only one sperging out is you 3rd world anon. We all know you 3rd worlders have poor health
>>
>>76721590
>>76721593
Man what is it with floorsleeping bringing out you haters? I might really be onto something here. Are you being paid to shit up my thread by big mattress?
>>
>>76721599
God forbid someone make fun of you, right?

Humanoids and other primates never slept on hard floors. It is unnatural and unhealthy. Laying on the ground for some time to decompress is fine.
>>76719558
Cavemen probably slept on animal skin and fur. They didn't sleep on literal rock.
>>76719575
>>76719580
These can be fine but still not ideal. If it helps your specific condition then you are an outlier.
>>
>>76719462
Get a jap futon or something similar if you're doing it
Still hard enough that you're going to be staying level on your back like you should but soft enough that its not literally the floor
>>
>>76720422
I sleep on a memory foam pad on the floor. Try it bro I bought my pad for like $80 and it's as good of sleep as the best mattresses I've slept on. Don't fall for the tricks of Big Mattress Tribe

Wait anon. One more thing. Only do this if you're a bachelor and gonna stay that way for a while. 100% of women are duped into thinking you're a loser for sleeping on a floor pad but. we both know better
>>
>>76720929
>side sleeper
Okay, well, there's your problem

>doesn't sleep correctly
>it doesnt work without a gigapillow surrounding your whole body

>more waste is removed from brain when side sleeping, significantly less is removed when sleeping on back
>sleeping on side is wrong way to sleep
what a lame ass troll thread
>>
>>76724002
I....need to do some reading about this. You're probably the one trolling. This can't be.
>>
>>76724063
>>76724002
It's only been directly studied in mice but it does seem to have some basis in humans too. Based on 6 minutes of scholarly research. Thanks for introducing me to this idea. I'm gonna keep sleeping on the floor.
>>
I sleep on my back or either side. I've used whatever mattresses and pillows my entire life. I have zero back and neck problems at 30+. I also deadlift and squat heavy regularly.
I am convinced the vast majority of back and neck pain are related to lack of muscular strength/endurance and inherent laziness. Good posture is literally a choice, your core and posterior chain in general is supposed to be activated when you're not asleep
>>
>>76724090
Buddha says to sleep on right side of body and the yoga texts say the same. of course that is only if you are also doing monk fasting as in eating from sunrise to noon. if there is food in your stomach, sleep on left side.
>>
>>76724354
Genuinely thanks. How'd Siddhartda feel about pillows?
>>
>>76724396
I can't remember anything specific but any depiction you'll find of him laying on his right side, he has his right arm under his head, and legs extended straight. its called the lion's pose. He supposedly died in this pose, too.

>>
>>76724354
someone posted about this some time ago, about research some guy made who lived among some tribe and observed how they sleep. from what i remember, benefits of side sleeping and why it makes sense that it's the best option evolutionary speaking:
>the stomach and chest slightly rise with each breath, flexing your spine and "lubricating" it
>prevents gravity from making snot and other shit going down your neck. makes it harder for the nose to get blocked while sleeping, prevents snoring and makes it easier to breath
>dick rests on your leg, preventing it from contact with the floor and keeping it clean and safe from bugs
