I just bought a 5 pound bag from costco. I want to aim to consistently eat a scoop a day and lean bulk over the next year.

I do 8 scoops a day so not long. I actually only recently learned each scoop is 25g of protein.. I thought it was 2 scoops for that, so I've been taking two scoops before and after workouts (I workout once in the morning and once in the evening) and apparently consuming 200g of protein from powder alone... but I've also never made gains faster in my life, so..
You gotta do at least 4 scoops, buddy. You wanna get big, you gotta eat big. 4 scoops, 3 times a day. C'MON!

I've tried all the flavors, and again none are what I'd call good or something I'd be drinking for the flavor alone, but I found the most palatable to be white chocolate and cookies & cream, neither of which taste like what they're trying to be, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how much you like white chocolate, but they're also lacking the offensively artificial flavors that you get with the other options namely the other chocolate and vanilla flavors, so as long as you're going in not expecting it to actually taste like white chocolate or oreos they're both serviceable.

You just have a small stomach or you're trying to drink it with meals. Have it in between so you have an empty stomach to work with.Just double checking how many ml of milk are you adding?
