i rubbed some sodium hydroxide onto my nose because it's supposed to break the clogged oil in my pores. my skin is peeling off too. seems like a good chemical exfoliate

op here i think i put too much on this spot. will it heal eventually? also the experiment didn't really work since my pores look the same

Those are called sebaceous filaments, most people have them and you can't remove them, anything you do to try and remove them will make your skin worse.

Can i 3D print butter with them?

yeah just mix some diacetyl into it

The pharma jew doesn't want you to know this, but clove oil cures every skin problem you can think of. Rash, infection, acne, warts, dandruff, etc

Is this bait, or are you genuinely retarded?

nigga you're retarded.
Answer my questions to get an answer:
>Did you rub solid, powdered NaOH on your nose, or water solution, or something else?
>If it wasn't solid, what was the concentration? If it was solid, how much?
>Did you apply it externally or inside the nose?
>How long did you leave it there?
TL;DR: you turned your nose skin into soap, and it's getting bad.

>>76729586
"exfoliate" is a verb; you mean "exfoliant".

i didn't measure how much i dissolved, but i did dissolve a strong solution of it. i washed it off after a minute and followed it up with some weak acid to neutralize it. i suppose i didn't do a good job at washing that spot. i didn't put it into my nose since i have no pores in there. also another update is that most of my nose skin is red and crusting now

hey OP i've got a fun experiment for you to try

you turned the skin you applied it to into soap, and that little "fold" where your nose meets your face was still holding some
>with some weak acid to neutralize it
this made it worse
>also another update is that most of my nose skin is red and crusting now
You'd want to keep the applied area under running water as soon as possible after exposure for 5+ minutes, preferably 15+ minutes. Sodium hydroxide is stupid caustic, and reaction rate is directly proportional to concentration.
You turned the skin in the applied area into soap, which allowed lye to access lower and lower skin levels. Once the flaking is done and you've rinsed your face more (though that probably won't help anymore) you should apply a zinc antibacterial, and cover your nose with a gauze bandage with medical tape. You'll have to change the bandage ~2 times a day and re-apply antibacterial once a day for a week at least. You'll recover but you might have permanently fucked up skin in that area (rougher, closer to scar tissue). Read the SDS.

>zinc antibacterial
can i use anything else? 95% alcohol or povidone iodine. i think it's okay if the skin under my nose regrows rougher, i just don't want it to be dark anymore. it's already partially obstructed by my nose so if it shrinks then it might be unnoticeable unless you move the nose
>>
>>76733308
>95% alcohol or povidone iodine
both will be incredibly irritating and possibly detrimental to recovery. I recommend the zinc antibacterial because it usually comes in a more soothing paste format which should keep your skin safe. Isopropyl will dry you out to a detrimental point. Povidone iodine is a decent solution for immediately, but won't serve your hydration requirements longterm. If you apply povidone during the 1x bandage change you don't apply zinc, that's fine though. Just avoid the alcohol disinfectants, also definitely avoid peroxide for similar reasons; hydroxide will actively damage the layer of cells trying to recover.
>. i think it's okay if the skin under my nose regrows rougher, i just don't want it to be dark anymore
It's possible you've ruined that, tissue recovering from a chemical burn like this is typically darker than "healthy" skin because of the healing process.
> it's already partially obstructed by my nose so if it shrinks then it might be unnoticeable unless you move the nose
It's possible the damage is wider than you think it is. Strongly consider the antibacterial/bandage rotation, and begin a regular lotion hydration treatment afterwards to see "normal" skin again. A general skincare treatment with lotion will help the problems you have to begin with. A couple oils to look for for skincare are almond and avocado oil, mostly for the "hydrated, healthy" look most ads try to sell. If you require more, a hydration cycle in the morning and "drying" cycle before bed with mint/grapefruit oil before bed should help. Don't start this until the skin is healed from your chemical burn, though, or you might damage the skin again at best and mildly poison yourself at worst.

ok thank you. i will see if i can find the paste you are describing. do you recommend i only apply it to the most damaged parts? the crusty skin around the rest of my nose looks to only be surface damage without any risk of infection
>>
>>76733350
There's no harm in applying it more broadly than the injury spans, and for skin injuries like this it's usually safest to apply more generously. That being said, you can also probably apply antibacterial to the "epicentre" of the injury and be fine as well. Preventing infection will aid the recovery process and reduce the "roughness" of the recovery, so it's really about whether you value comfort while recovering or long term result more.

i found this stuff and just applied it to the whole nose. i won't do the bandage since i don't know how to apply it in a way that would keep it secure and effective. i am able to stay inside for my recovery period so i don't think there is a risk of me picking up dirt from public areas
>>
>>76733408
That's perfect! On the bandage: it serves more than simply keeping shit out, they keep shit in too; that's why I recommend a bandage on top of the zinc paste, it keeps everything damp like your body needs but inhospitable to microorganisms/infection.
>>
>>76733416
oh, okay. something i'm wondering about is whether bandages would prevent skin from having the space needed to grow back smoothly. wouldn't the skin try to grow into the bandage and then removing it would rip the skin back out?
>>
>>76733441
That's why I suggest a gauze bandage with medical tape around the sides, so you can put easy to remove tape on healthy skin and not damage the new sensitive skin.
