Does lifting actually change your life?
Yes? retard, your body is like 50% of your life
Internal and external development are separate. One does aid the other yes.
>>76731888Where are you for the other 50%?
>>76731973It took internal development before i could stick to lifting 6x a week and eating right. Now, because of developing do musch internal discipline working on my externsl body, this gave me the ability to work even more internally.
>>76731879Try and find out or leave the forum about doing it you annoying gigantic faggot
>>76731983You mock me, but /fit/ itself proves my statement.
>>76731879YesPhysically I feel better than I ever have, going into my 30's with absolutely no pain . Can run, jump, hike, swim, bike, play sports without issue and have fun. No longer get random headaches or stomachaches because my diet is clean and consistent. I am very happy with my body and enjoy finding clothes that fit well or being outside without a shirt. Before I was very self conscious and shy about it.Mentally, it's shown me what hard word really is. It's all about consistency, discipline, and patience. Gym results take months and years to notice, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. You need to be consistent. Doesn't matter if you don't feel like working out, if you want it bad enough you will make the effort. That mentality applies to everything in life. Before I wouldn't even start something because I didn't see the point if I didn't get the end result instantly. It hasn't really helped my mental health. I'm still incredibly depressed and suicidal, but I didn't expect exercise to fix that.Socially it hasn't made much of a difference. I've met a few friends at the gym and workout with my buddies often. I already had a strong circle of friends and family, so I didn't need any help with that. The confidence boost is real though and I can see that helping people become more outgoing.Tldr; go to the gym
>>76731879Getting fit doesn't mean you have to become some cookie cutter rube. The positive energy I've gotten from working out has translated into every part of my life, from cleaning the house to putting more effort into my hobbies. I enjoy tinkering with behind the scenes stuff for my ttrpgs, building models and painting minis, and even my video game playing has gotten more rich. Rather than just rotting away playing something for the sake of it, I'm playing for fun. I formed a group that has met every weekend since july to play gamecube co op games right now.Rather than looking for fit friends, I'm getting my nerd friends fit
>>76731879The real gains are the confidence you find along the way

>>76732756The only people "like you" are the homeless types who see shit in the walls and are only out of prison because no one has been dumb enough to talk to them and end up killed yet

>>76731879Lifting produces endorphins. Literally your body gives you antidepressants if you lift. Weak, compared to meds, but no side effects. Hell yeah, it fucking helps.
>>76731879Fuck yes. Well, moreso me losing 60 pounds in the past 6 months through lifting and dieting. I still have around 10-15 pounds to go to hit my optimal weight, but I've already started to see the effects.Women are starting to notice and talk to me a lot more. Men have more respect for me as well. My confidence is higher than ever before and my social skills are starting to improve.
>>76732150>my parents hate me>women are shit nowadays>I have no children
>>76733800Regardless, courage is taking whatever hand you've been dealt by fate and living life to the fullest in your circumstance. What good is focusing on things you cannot change?
>>76733800>muh parents Is your mum going to lift the weights up and down for you, dicklips?

I love the gym, I feel genuinely happy and productive there, and I even socialize with the dudes there. The desk ladies like me, and the old hispanic lady who may or may not think I'm genuinely retarded has felt my bicep and given me hugs that were very awkward. I'm on the board for top lifts and get to give pointers and help exhausted guys rerack plates. It's exciting to feel like a real human. But the world outside of the gym continues to elude me. Granted, I spent many years as a hikki so I'm struggling to work on not being absolutely socially retarded and less paranoid, but real socializing and making friends still feels out of reach. But physically, it's done me well. I'm proud of what I can do, and it motivates me to keep going to see how far I can get. Dunno how many years it'll take to outlift the hikki poison, but if you're a schizo like me, the gym is multi-faceted therapy.
>>76731879ive never been fat but i cant imagine trying to date while fat
>>76737031just date slam piggies
>>76731879Yeah, similar to this. My problem is I do like some people but I hate most normal people. So for all the people I meet when I try new stuff there's only like a 10% chance I'll ever want to see them again.
>>76737033i dont want to have sex while fat either
>>76732157/fit/ is full of hylics, let them be, their lives are hard as they are
>>76732150If everybody is strong then noone is. It's all compared to eachother. Race to the bottom at all instances
>>76737930Strength is not relative. 200 kg is always 200kg and lifting it takes a lot of effort, regardless of how many can do it
>>76738086If everyone can lift 200kg you're not strong for doing it.
>>76738112>if you can lift 200 kg you are not strongListen to yourself dumbass
>>76738156Nigger if everyone can lift 200kg, who's going to call you strong? You can only be called "Strong" if there are others who are weak by comparison. It's a comparison word.
>>76731879You don't have to change anything about your life outside of what you put into it when you start lifting
>>76738163I love when midwits use unrealistic logical arguments for real world things
>>76738168Wasn't the one who started it with dumbass meme pictures.

>>76731879You wouldn't outlift your autism, but it does made normies tolerate you more compare to a fat ass.
>>76731879If life were a pyramid then fitness would be the base. It won't change your life, but it will improve everything you decide to do.
