Is beer the worst alcoholic drink for fitness? Red wine or whisky on the rocks seem better options. Beer has phytoestrogens and you have to drink a lot to feel "buzzed" compared to other drinks.
no it isn't
I usually get the buzz from vodka and then keep the level with beer. Imo, if you're worried about the side-effects of beer, why drink alcohol at all? Sure, if you find a good drink of choice that is the better option for you, just stick to it, but I don't think that decision will have a big impact on your health or fitness.
alcohol is shit for fitness no matter what, it will fuck with your sleep, even if you keep hydrated and sleep long hours, the quality will still be poordon't drink more often than once a month
>>76734637I drink too much by my own standards and the only fitness drawback is extra calories. Rarely sleep more than 4 hours at a time, usually get an extra nap in. Sleep is for your brain, rest is for your body.
>>76734370Avoid light beer. Regular and Dark beer are fine.
>>76734370Alcohol is for the blue collar working class.
>>76734370Why would you drink any kind of alcohol if you are trying to build muscle? It has 0 benefits, usually makes you just feel like shit the day after too, I am very thankful that I don't drink this shit
>>76734370Whatever is the highest sugar and calories is the worst typically. Beer is bad, but obviously a mojito is going to be worse, and the best for you is probably just straight vodka. this being said, if you are bulking or cutting, it's bad for goals. this being said, enjoy the weekends when you can and learn moderation.
beer is more psychoactive than liquor so you really don’t have to drink more, 2-4 beers is the sweet spot, if that’s not enough you have a tolerance and should cut down, liquor is not a good idea and if you’re bargaining between different drinks that’s addict behavior
>>76734922I bargain between drinks purely out of caloric (and to some extent economic) budget. 4 beers is a shit ton of calories compared to the same alcoholic volume of wine or vodka and probably more expensive than the former as well.
>>76734948Bottled beer is usually the cheapest thing you can get at a bar
>>76734948it’s not a huge difference, any serving of alcohol is about 100 calories
>>76734370>PHYTOESTROGENSPost your fat ass physique bitch
>>76734956>at a barI hardly ever go to bars, but where I'm from beer is expensive as fuck at bars in terms of alcoholic quantity vs price. Easily the worst choice in terms of economy. It's also more expensive than wine generally at stores in those terms.>>76734962A liter of wine is like 700 calories and 11%. Two liters of 5.5% beer is like 900 calories. It's a wide margin considering there's nothing in those calories.
>>76734922I've only drunk a handful of times in my life, and even after 5 beers, I don't feel a thing.Only time I've felt anything was being slightly dizzy after skulling a glass of vodka.
>>76734370>>76734637>>76734889Explain why Eddie Hall (and pretty much every other WSM feature) demolishes huge quantities of alcohol. I don’t drink much but the idea that it harms muscle growth is just wrong. It’s nonsense, pushed by straight edge loser kids who think it would kill their imaginary “gains”. Is it good for you? No. But it is nowhere near as bad for you as these freaks make outHave a few drinks if you want. Or don’t, it’s up to you. But don’t let stick armed shut ins make that decision for you
>>76735205He is a fat fuck on steroids lol
>>76735205He's a bong
>>76734889because i enjoy it? its not gonna set my gains back if i have a beer or two a couple nights a week.
>>76734956thank god zoomers are letting bars die
>>76735154are you fat? fat people are resistant to alcohol and weed
>>76735135It's really weird how you pivoted from him saying "a serving" to an entire bottle and then two liters.
>>76735372idgaf about subjective measures like whatever a serving is. 2 liters of 5.5 beer has as much alcohol as a liter of 11% wine, so they're equivalent in terms of alcoholic content. could've used half a liter and 1 respectively or any other measure that make them equivalents in alcohol quantity, it's just to standardize how many calories you're getting per alcohol volume.
>>76735232Yeah and so does Brian Shaw, who isn’t. He may be genetically Bonglish but it doesn’t make any difference>>76735228He is also that but it clearly didn’t affect him, nor did he cut it out. What are you doing that is so demanding that alcohol would impact it?
>>76734809Dude weed bro!!! >>76734889Honest question, what do you do dull the pain? Lifting and martial arts I’m already doing, but alcohol is the only thing I’ve found that makes life tolerable.
>>76735549Yeah, like I said, it was really weird.
>>76734370Gin is the best.
>>76735669Only person i ever knew who drank gin in my life was a mixed guy named bird who would always show up st my door in the middle of the night after spending $2 and sum change on gin. Can buy liquor till 2am here.>i got 7 dollars b help a nigga out
>>76735675The cheap stuff tastes like bugspray, but it is clear liquor with essential oils of citrus and botanicals. It has to be the least of alcohol evils. Especially if you are smart with your mixers and do something like half seltzer and half cranberry with a lemon slice.
>>76735669>GinI think I'll pick up a little gin 'round Christmas. I tried it in high school and hated it because it tasted like a tree, but flash forward 20 years and I drink pic related because it tastes like a tree.Give me two brand recommendations, please. One that's going to be available at my local liquor store, and one that I might have to pick up at Bevmo.
>>76735669Patrician choice. I love gin. Though, to be fair, I love alcohol in most of it's forms, it's just that gin has a special place in my heart as the drink of choice of my early teenage days. >>76735737You really don't need anything other than tanqueray and hendricks imo.
I dont drink
>>76735857Why
>>76736013Why should i
My body is a temple. Except for the 1 night per week I drink an entire 40oz of whiskey and dust a bag
>>76736015Because it tastes/feels good.
>>76736071It tastes like shit and you will feel like shit the day after, also not worth the calories
>>76735154You're either fat or lying
>>76734756>the only fitness drawback is extra calories
>>76734370>phytoestrogensMemeDon't drink alcohol anyway
>>76735552>>76735205Suicidal doses of steroids. When you're blasting like they're alcohol becomes almost meaningless
>>76734889most socializing activities involve alcohol in some way. ur not 13 anymore to be celebrating your birthday with carbonated sugary water
>>76736299>Empty caloriesIf you're not a top-tier performance athlete, getting a buzz on won't make a difference at all. Even then, plenty of top performing athlete's drink alcohol....they just don't do sustained periods of getting actually drunk.
>>76734370Beer is great. You don't have to worry about staying hydrated or eating when you drink it. Wine and whiskey are nothing but alcohol, tannins, and other congeners that will absolutely fuck you up if you don't remember to hydrate and eat.
>>76734889Because we are adults and life is stressful. You'll understand when you have to work a job you hate every day with no hope of it getting better just so you can pay like 20 different bills every month. Adult life without something to take the edge off is nothing but an endless grind.
>>76734370Idk beer tastes pretty good
>>76736685I like Coors Light but hate Modelo and Guiness
>>76735302>>76736176Not fat, not lying. I am Ukrainian though.
>>76735598He meant liquor poorfag
how come people are acting like there's no middle ground between co.plete straight edge and getting blasted? I never have more than one, MAYBE M A Y B E two per night and it serves me just fine
>>76736654>don't change your job or finances or life situation>instead do drink literal poison til cancerwhat is external locus of control
>>76736071Plenty of things taste and feel good but they aren't good for you alcohol included.
>>76736871>I am Ukrainian So you are a lying Jew.
>>76735205The extra calories aren’t THAT bad as long as you don’t drink until you pass out. If one isnt trying to get into competition shape a pint every now and again is fine. Especially if you still go to the gym the next day
>>7673699220 year old detected. Good luck out there
>>76735598spend more time in nature, read good literature, find faith in a higher powerbut i still struggle with alcoholism so take that how you will
>>76736062blow or weed?
>>76735598Ashwagandha works wonders for my anxiety. It's not a potent depressant or anything, but it will make you feel calm and chill and take the edge off so you don't feel like drinking to do that.
