There's also some other component because that attention would continue even when she was not present.
I chalked it up to having a fundamental confidence or a kind of apathy towards women in public. Nothing had positively changed in my appearance since getting the gf. In fact I'd put on some nesting weight and relaxed my grooming standards a bit. Still got the distinct impression I was more attractive than I'd ever been.

After the breakup, I have some residual confidence for sure, but just the fact that I'm now single and therefore actively on the look out for potential dates somehow, if even very subtly, gives off a kind of mojo dampening field.

After I got out of Marine Corps bootcamp and MCT a few years ago I went from being a bit chubbier (my 180s) down to my 150's and MUCH leaner then I was before. Got a gf with it who I broke up after 5 months and got with two other chicks due to it.
And these are the times that I can count where I was doing it on purpose since after a while it kinda just becomes second nature and you get a good feel for social interactions, and it is very organic and you barely notice you are trying. Helped me immensely in my career too.

Because the law of averages means you'll eventually run into a girl who's down. Even if you're so unattractive that let's say only 5% of attractive women like you, that's 5 cute girls you've smashed if you approach 100 females. 100 isn't even a lot if you think of the time it takes to just walk up to a girl, strike up a small convo, then ask for digits to hangout later. Hell, if you tell yourself you're gonna approach just one a day any time you leave the house, you'd easily be at that number faster than half a year.

The more important thing however is that you treat the initial approaches as a challenge to get over your anxiety. Obviously always push as far as the interaction is willing to go, but treat it like you're just getting reps in for training your social skills and mental resilience rather than looking for social validation. You'll soon realize that after 3-5 approaches, the worst thing that happens to you is you get an "I have a bf". You're just teaching your brain that nothing bad happens. Getting rejected should be as bad in your brain as offering someone a piece of gum and they say no thanks. Would you get crushed if someone denied your offer for a piece of gum? The outcome is literally the same unless you do something atrociously stupid like getting handsy or hanging around after she says no.

Oh and since you asked how much weight, I can deadlift 3 plates x about 5, seated dumbbell curl 45 for reps, military press 1 plate for reps, flat bench (which I'd say is a relatively weak point for me) 2 plates for 6 or 7 reps, 4 plates on the air hump machine for reps and a good amount of cardio.
