i hate wasting my time talking to anti-cico fags but im gonna do it anyway because some people genuinely think like this. the CI in CICO specifically refers to the amount of calories that your body is able to effectively metabolise into energy. yes, there are slight variations in this amount from person to person, no, it is not possible to perfectly accurately measure the exact amount of calories you will metabolise from a given food product. nonetheless, the calorie estimates on the packaging of food is generally accurate to how much your body will metabolise into energy ±10%. CICO is not stating that the total potential energy of every atom passing down your gullet is being counted as the 'calories in'. it is specifically referring to what you metabolise.
