ITT: Post your pilates experiences, help people understand that it's actually super beneficial for you. It's not gay!! I did a mat pilates class and came out very worked out in my core, and also got a great understanding for where my imbalances are. It was made for veterans. It's not gay!!!!!! Please help others understand that just because hot women in lululemon do the reformer pilates and the machines look like medieval torture devices that it's not gay!! You'll actually feel better and have mobility and bodily understanding through your golden years if you stick with a program.

I'll give it a try, I remember reading this guy's wikipedia page and how he still trained despite his health problems, pretty cool

Idk if it's modern pilate but women only do it cause it's easy, they want the satisfaction of thinking "I work out !" without breaking a sweat or getting calluses

I'm not white and gay enough for this shit

Bro I'm going to endorse woman doing it cause my wife suddenly got way more flexible. End of the day they get the mental satisfaction, social satisfaction, and we get the physical satisfaction.

For mat pilates I took one for old people and it still checked all the boxes for a supplemental. It's like a servicing for my car

You gotta do the high level classes. I'm about as burned out after one of them as I am from lifting. But get your flexibility lined up first and don't go too hard into the stretches or you'll tweak something.

I started doing pilates for injury recovery and it's been great. Works all the stabilizer muscles you need to do big compound lifts well and safely. Plus fixing your posture will broaden your shoulders and add an ~inch of height. The most notable thing apart from that is probably the obliques, I keep a strong adonis belt even at relatively high bf%.

Having said that, if you want to look at hot women in tight pants, first off, do yoga instead, second, pick the easiest, cheapest mat class you find. Hot women don't actually work that hard usually, they're just young and not fat. Apart from some smoking instructors, I can count the hot women I've seen in high-level pilates classes on one hand, they're usually mids or moms who happen to be really into pilates.
