I could tell the father was getting frustrated at his son, the father is jacked and strong.

His son appears to me to be like 13-14, he is fat (not obese, but fat)

The sons form is terrible on everything, its clear he has never done any kind of physical activity in his life, he looked very awkward trying to lift, and he was bitching about how its too hard

The father was getting annoyed at his son.

After they lifted weights he took the son to the boxing area and the father was throwing open hands at the son telling him to defend himself, and he would get hit here or there, and everytime that happened the kid would get upset and act like he was going to leave the gym.

The kid looked like he absolutely hated the entire experience and didn't want to be there, and the father looked extremely frustrated.

All I was thinking was I wanted to tell the kid not to take it to heart, that what his father is doing is actually really good for him, even though it might not seem like it now that he's young, and that I wish my father did that with me when I was younger, but he couldn't, because my mum wouldn't allow him to ever do shit like that, she raised me to be a bitch, and i wanted to tell this kid (in-front of his father) that he's doing what all fathers should do to raise their sons, and that one day he will understand and appreciate what his father is trying to do

But I didnt want to get involved.... so i just kept to my lifting session, and hit a new PR on incline dumbbell presses and weighted pull-ups, so im happy
>>
Instead of getting the kid into some sport to have him decently conditioned for physical activity and large group social activities he's stunting his growth with lifting man made metal up and down for no reason. Sad !!
At least the dad is trying to do something about his son's fitness tho, as unoptimal as it is. Some people grow up around literal hillbillies and helicopter parents who push their kids the other way around (aka no exercising or socialization)

The gym is the best start if your 13-14 year old kid is out of shape, sedentary and fat.

You cant throw that kid into sports, which will be full of other kids his age, who are lean, athletic, and have been playing sports since they were 6-7 years old, that would just destroy him mentally immediately, the gym gives him a chance to get learn how his body moves, get stronger, build muscle, and then lean down, and then he can move into playing a sport
>>
>>76738148
No you didn't, you're a dumb frogposter and don't go outside
>>
>>76738195
Do you really think I made ALL of this up? are u a dumb NIGGER? or what
>>
>>76738148
>All I was thinking was I wanted to tell the kid not to take it to heart, that what his father is doing is actually really good for him
>tell stranger that his enemy is doing the right thing
Might work if you're literally Batman.
>>
>>76738148
This is why you have to be involved with your kids continually from birth
Just randomly doing this shit when they're 14 will make them hate you and the gym forever
My 2 year old will deadlift a 6# dumbbell when I'm lifting in my home gym but I'm not trying to make him do anything

I was riding my bike once and a kid in a wheelchair said it was a nice bike and must be very fast. Fuck sake how do even respond to that. I just looked as his dad and it was all very awkward. I dunno this thread just reminded me of that.
>>
>>76738282
this made me lol for some reason
>>
>>76738148
Any time I push my kids on something new, I take it easy and make sure it's fun or at least not horrible for them, and I talk them up during and after. Got both my adolescent daughters to love mountain biking with me that way - it's not the hardest ride when they're along, but they'll eagerly go spend two hours riding trails with me any time I want, and I know they'll advance as they grow.

This dad fucked up. He could have picked a few baby weights and gassed his son up and had a willing participant from then on. Instead he was an ass, and now his son is going to fatten up even more out of spite.
>>
I volunteer with this kid through big brothers/big sisters. I once coached him in basketball and it was too overwhelming so he quit. A year or two later now that he's older I get him in the gym. I keep it light and fun. Last session we hit a stairmaster warm up, bench, cable row, and ez bar curls. He was telling me how he is trying to hollow his cheeks out by rubbing them a lot and he kind of has acne on his cheeks from it. Anyways I'm keeping it fun and light and he's going with me. He is 16 now.

I think the dad just has to keep it light and fun. Like 3 sets of 10 and then a little cardio machine. That's what I do and he's about it. Pushes himself really hard too.
>>
I really hope my kids are /fit/ but it's the dad's fault for not being considerate to his son. he should have gotten his kid active and signed him up for sports

What?

Father's to blame for not being able to encourage his son.

There are a million physical activities. Surely there's one his son likes
>>
>>76738232
Yes this stuff always happens like that

Father ignores his son for years and then suddenly gets embarrassed how his son ended up and decides to do something about it
>>
>12 years old
>getting really fat
>absent father decides to try to teach me to wrestle and kill people like he did in vietnam
>ignore him, go back to eating and playing video games
>bulk for another six years until i decide to change
you can't force people to do what you want them to do
>>
>>76739208
Yes you can, here's a pro tip:
Don't be absent for 12 formative years lmao
>>
>>76739211
no I'm with that anon, you can't force some people to do anything because they will always become more obstinate. you either work within the constraints of their system of what they find desirable vs not and over some period of time condition them into behaviors, or you don't. but that is completely apart from the simple matter of "what behaviors should be reinforced in children" to begin with. t. actually kinda sociopathic unbiased neutral guy

my dad was a workaholic who used his glorified hobby job as an excuse to not interact with his family

>be grug
>ignore your only son for the first 12 years of his existence
>one day, sudden galaxybrain epiphany: parents are supposed to raise their offspring!
>attempt to teach son how make fire, hunt mammoth, steal woman
>son shows fear at sudden change in his existence of picking berries and admiring chinese cave paintings
>get angry at son and give up immediately
>consider smashing son head with club

this wtf

Proper parenting right here.

I want you to be a father, I'm your little boy
And you don't even bother, like
‘Brother' without the ‘R’, and I'm starting to harbor
Cool on food for thought, but for you, I'm a starver
Starting to use red markers on my work
My teacher say they know I'm much smarter, but I'm hurt
I used to hand my homework in first
Like I was the classroom starter, burst to tears
Let him know he's serious
Now I'm fighting in class, got a note last week
That say I might not pass, kids ask me if my daddy
Is sick of us, 'cause you ain't never pick me up
You see what my problem is?
That I don't know where my poppa is
No positive male role model
To play football and build railroad models
It's makin' a hole; you've been diggin' it
'Cause you ain't been kickin' it since I was old enough to hold bottles
Wasn't supposed to get introduced to that
I don't deserve to get used to that
Now I ain't asking you for money or to come back to me

If he had a girl instead, he could molest her.

Sex with daughter is a workout, it's fitness, trains cardio, heart. Prove me wrong.

>still ended up as a fat fuck
you can not outlift the school cafeteria
>>
>>76738173
If I had lifted I would have played sports longer. I stopped in part because I was so skinny
>>
>>76739769
wow even badminton wasn't enough?
>>
>>76739261
No anon, fatherhood is a DIY project and if your son doesn't respect you, seems lazy, fat and stupid, it's because you raised him that way. If you look in the mirror, you might see what he will look like in 20+ years. Yeah, just wear a condom man.
>>
>>76738148
>His son appears to me to be like 13-14, he is fat (not obese, but fat)

Waited too long, you need to get them obsessed into fitness or better into sports when they are still in the thinking you are superman and idolizing you phase.
>>
>>76738232
TRVKE.
The father neglected his child for over a decade, and faced with the harsh truth that his boy is turning into the average 4chan user he's trying to change course at 5 minutes to midnight. The man isn't really frustrated with the boy, he's frustrated with himself for his failure as a father, but taking it out on the boy.
>>
>>76740922
>waited too long
there's no amount of waiting that's short enough, if you're absent during your son's birth, it's already over
>>76740938
lol, breeders are subhuman monkeys with 0 ability to introspect, I'm recovering from stuff that never happens to people who have parents and he just randomly asked me
>so when are you getting a job?
I told him never just to make him mad.
>>
>>76738282
>I was riding my bike once and a kid in a wheelchair said it was a nice bike and must be very fast. Fuck sake how do even respond to that
You respond like you would with any other child. The kid knows he's in a wheelchair, the best you can do is not treat him differently for it or avoid the subject. Say thank you, ask if he likes bikes, say you bet he can go pretty fast too.
>>
>>76740949
>not treat him differently for it
please stand up when you speak to me
>>
>>76740941
>there's no amount of waiting that's short enough, if you're absent during your son's birth, it's already over
thats a load of horseshit, my dad was in prison when I was born and he never spent time with me only in the morning before he headed out to run his bar and gamble.
I still turned out a success in nearly every way. At the end of the day, it is up to you.

why do a lot of fat zoomers have fit dads?
>>
>>76740960
You just posted this on 4chan. You're likely older than me, and I'm 31.
You could be in church or camping with your loved ones, but you spend your sunday telling me I'm wrong.
>>
>>76740967
Nope actually much younger than you.
I am 23.
All in all above 95 percent of the rest of my peers in terms of life progress.
And I post on here because I grew up here, besides this place is full of normies now.
>>76740966
Nearly every dad above the age of 40 with income to spare is on TRT. Nearly all my older male managers at the place I work at are on TRT.
>>
If you have a daughter a better than gym would be a workout together in the bed, if you know what I mean.
>>
>>76740977
Maybe I should get on it
>>
>>76740977
>nearly every dad over 40 is on trt
You serious? I'm just 40 and wouldn't even consider that troon shit.
>>
>>76741979
Roiding, like every other mentally ill behavior, stems from deep insecurity, you shouldn't envy them, you should pity them.
Everyone serious about /fit/ness is a natty.
