Appearently regular beds are terrible for you because they keep your muscles tense and don't allow for actual deep rest. So the best thing seems to be sleeping on the floor on a fairly thin matress like this.
Any experiences?

you're the bottom of the barrel stupid
>>
>>76744046
why? It makes sense to me that sleeping on a matress over a bunch of wooden planks wouldnt allow for actual muscle relief since it would keep you still somewhat tense
my parents had this bed drawer thing that was a big furniture with like 4 drawers and in the middle/top a big space of wood where you'd put the matress and since it was a stable base (unlike 99% of beds which are, again, a bunch of planks) it was a lot comfier than mine. I dont see how the floor wouldnt even be even comfier.
Also matresses appearently are way too thick and also keep you tense because you're perpetually sinking into them, while the futon is the perfect middle ground between the floor's stability and providing cushion
>>
The first few nights felt strange, but I slept much better after that compared to normal beds. Helped with anterior pelvic tilt too.
>>
>>76744062
you know you can buy mattresses of different firmnesses right? and try sleeping on your side on 1.5” of padding over stone. after a few nights your shoulder and hip will be killing you.
>>
>>76744063
Which position do you sleep on?

Also I apologise for the ESLism on >>76744062, I just checked and the "drawer bed" I was talking about is called "storage bed" appearently. And some models seems to be built like a regular beds with the base holding the matress being a bunch of planks but the one my parents had wasnt like that, it was a full, stable wooden base with no spaces and it was comfier than my normal bed.

>>76744070
Yeah but what about sleeping on your back?
>>
>>76744071
Honestly I turn around a lot, mostly start on back or side and turn to stomach after some time. Just depends on the day though and what kind of exercise I have gotten.
I also recommend getting actual good futon and not the cheap and thin ones. I got one and I did get used to it at some point, but having proper one is such a huge difference.
>>
>>76744084
For reference, what size was your futon and how expensive?
>>
>>76744070
korean stone mattress, it's actually not too bad if you use natural sleeping postures.
>>
>>76743913
wooden board is ideal.

>nobed chads rise up
>>
I already had a firm mattress, but due to a back injury I switched to floor sleeping. Best choice I ever made.
Got me one of those wooden tatami platforms to put a 3" mattress topper, that I can pack away during the day, and I sleep like a dog that never have to worry about bills every night.
My resting pulse went from 58 to 48 practically overnight.

Americans cant sleep on the floor because its dirty from their shoes. Anything more barbaric than using shoes in your bedroom?

man I love those asian countries where they remove their shoes to get inside, all the women walk barefoot inside, this is the proper way. it motivates you to find a gf/wife because you know she's going to be barefooted all the time. now compare dating an amerigolem that is going to be wearing sneakers even before having sex when she has to take out everything
>>
Firm mattress works for me, tried sleeping on the floor but im a skeleton so my bones got all the pressure on them.
>>
>>76743913
I do. It is higher maintenance than a bed and needs a pad under it if you don't have tatami flooring because it's designed around that. The ones you use on wood floors are thicker and mold easier if they're not wool which comes with its own problems like lumping worse. All in all I would just get one of those memory foam roll mattresses for the same purposes there's much less downsides and upkeep to it but anything flat on the floor will need to lifted daily to prevent condensation and mold in anything but the most arid climates this is why most of your furniture has legs .
>>
every time i sleep on my back i have constant nightmares of falling.
i mean within seconds of going to sleep.
sometimes I fall back asleep and it's like a david lynch film where it reaches ad infinite of waking up/sleeping/nightmare. to some absurd singularity.
>>
>>76744509
Sleeping on the floor is the only time your skeleton and ligaments get to properly rest.
Your muscles will feel like they've been through an 8 hour deep massage, though.
Took me nearly two months to get comfortable with it.

Nigga just get a firm mattress and boxspring. Sleeping on the floor puts you right next to dust and shit, and those futons are prone to molding. They have to be aired out and beaten in the sun weekly. They are meant to be on top of tatami mats, which are also higher maintenance than modern flooring. Japanese homes built today often don't even have them.
>>
>>76744183
Our houses have entryways to immediately take off your coats and shoes and store your umbrellas. We carpet our homes; "wearing shoes inside" is actually more of a millionaire-wealthy habit than a common one.

I'm speaking as a moderate wealth white man, though. I'm unaware of minority lifestyles.

>Sleeping on the floor puts you right next to dust and shit
Don't walk around with your shoes on inside your house + your mattress is filled with dust.
>futons are prone to molding
Don't leave them laying on the floor all day after waking up. That's all you have to do.
>>
I got too heavy for my bed frame ( all muscle) so threw it out and just put the matty on the floor and its way more comfy, supports me better doesnt sink, I lift it up on its side for abit each day to air it out or you will get mold over time but its way nicer being lower down in the room aswell. If youve got spiders might not be good as they will get you but I dont so im good2go.

I used to live in Japan. Okinawa, specifically. People talk about how Japan is "this or that," and I'll tend to agree, but honestly?
Spiders.
Cicadas and spiders were ubiquitous. Inside and outside. Every single day, at least once, a spider was going to crawl on you. Felt a tingle on your skin when your covers were pulled up? In all the places I lived, around the world, that was just some body hair adjusting. But in Japan? It was a spider.
I loved Japan, but man.
Spiders.

slept on one for few nights when visiting a relative. i sleep on my side so i woke up several times with my whole arm being numb. other than that i slept really well

Can you sleep on your stomach on these things? Or is it a back only type of deal?
>>
>>76743913
I have many times (in japan)
good western beds are 100 times better
>>
>>76743913
i do, its a big step up, so fucking comfy, my old bed was made out of wood, way to small, had it since i was a little child and the springs already poked through, so this was a big step up and i sleep like a baby, but now more small animels crawl over me, especially spiders, but i dont mind because i live in a country without deadly ones and they eat mosquitoes which i hate more
>>76744230
where are you from anon? im bot from asia and not from the usa and everyone where i live removes the shoes, in the neighbouring countries the same. I think only the states are the odd ones out

>>76743913
I slept on these a lot when I went to Japan (obviously). What's interesting is that I hurt my back the day before the trip hitching some heavy banded deadlifts, but after two days sleeping with a futon (and walking a lot, to be fair) I was pretty much completely healed. Normally that kind of injury takes me a few weeks to recover.

I tried sleeping on the floor. It fucked me up.
I went back to my soft bed. It fucked me up.
I then tried the floor again with a thin mattress. It fucked me up.

Just fuck my shit up.

If I had a whole bed with frame in my studio apartment I wouldn't be able to use most of the floor space. So I sleep on a futon and fold it up to put in the closet when I'm not sleeping. Took a bit to get used to, but now I sleep without issues.

cont. I actually tried sleeping on the ground with different setups and cushions. I'm pretty sure I got a varicocele on my left nut tubes bc of sleeping on the ground.

Humans were not meant to sleep on beds. It's unnatural. That's why every night at bed time I remove all of my clothes, go outside, and sleep naked on the ground in my back yard. You will never relax your muscles enough unless you're yard-maxxing your sleep cycles.
