>>76746118This. When I used Olanzipine I was in a constant brain fog. Now I'm on Quetiapine I'm more or less normal.
>>76746043my older brother is schizo and has been taking this shit for the last 20 years and all it does is make him sleep for 48 hours then he wakes up groggy and chain smokes then in a couple days he's back to staying up all night and being completely insaneworthless drug, doctors don't care to try to change his prescription and he doesn't care either
>>76746972that's unfortunate. schizos have some overactive synapse firing so they can be helped by the right meds.all these drug operate on the premise of making the nervous system work less efficiently. you just have to find the drug and dosage that actually helps a schizo be more functional.
>>76746972That sucks. Olanzapine's strongest effect is making you tired, so I'm not surprised he sleeps so much.I'm on an Abilify 300mg injection every 28 days. It's not too bad. Had me a bit lethargic but I've managed to counteract that with a nootropic focus and energy stack.Had me compulsively binge-eating too, but the Mounjaro seems to have put a stop to that. All the antipsychotic drugs have a fairly nasty side effect profile, it's just a case of finding one that keeps you from losing touch with reality and doesn't turn you into a twitchy mess.
>>76747010>>76746988he is in complete denial of being schizo, but he just takes his meds to sort of normalize after being awake for long periods of time and getting all worked upbut he doesn't admit he has any mental issues and because of that he doesn't care to seek out different medication
>>76747016Lacks insight. An involuntary admission might do him good, he'll probably hate you for it for a while but if they force him onto something that actually helps like they had to do with me and the Abilify, long term he might come around.
>>76746043Booze
>>76746043I'm prescribed 5mg but always cut the pill in half. Works for me.
>>76746972Treating schizophrenia is basically trying all sorts of different meds until something works. Some people do really well on Abilify, others do better on Latuda, others Invega, it’s not the same for everyone. The important thing is to take it regularly though, otherwise there’s no way to tell if it actually works. A lot of schizos don’t like the idea that this is something they’re going to use to live with and take a pill every day or get regular injections. There’s some promising new developments in antipsychotics lately, there is a new medication called Cobenfy that was released about a year ago that’s a new 3rd class antipsychotic (ie not typical or atypical) and it’s been pretty promising so far, with less side effects than older meds. And other companies are working on their own versions.
>>76747016How do you know he has mental issues? Maybe he is correct and you are wrong.

wow 9 different schizos and a guy with a schizo brother all replying to the same thread. certainly not one schizo talking to himself.
>>76748718Schizo is the new normal. Normalfags are actually crazy.
