>Join a weight lifting class>Realize for the past decade I've been lifting incorrectly>Realize I don't push my knees out enough when I go down for squats.>My high school football coach set me up to fail.Anyone come to any realizations that theyve been fucking up for a long time when it comes to lifting, nutrition, recovery etc?
No apparently my deadlift is textbook perfect and i've never watched a video of it before and rarely does anyone deadlift in my shithole commercial gym
>>76747146>Doing 40 minutes of intense cardio before lifting for bloodflow and warming up>Planks are the ultimate core workout and the only sure sign of core strength>The idea of doing shit for muscle "tone" >Deadlift motion is dangerous and useless>Volume for strength/hypertrophy>Machines are the only way to activate a specific muscle, dumbells are dangerous and uselessAll i can think of rn
>>76747166Oh shit, are you the guy from the textbook? Wassup, lookin good my man. Did you just do the deadlift intuitively like did your monkey brain just understand the mechanics
>>76747260No i'm just a manlet with good leg ratios so i can also squat ATG proper clean technique tho i needed to learn foot positioning on that oneMy bench is laughable tho
>isometrics are a waste of timeI've made more gains doing isometric bench press in the last few months than I did in the previous few years
>>76747315Isometric bench? Do you mean pause bench? Do you mean unracking, coming about half way down and just holding it until failure? Those are pretty normal bench techniques homie.
>>76747382I hold it for 15 seconds at the top, 15 at the middle, 15 at the bottom, then 15 again at the middle and top before re-racking.Each rep takes 75 seconds. I'm currently doing this with 105kg, which used to be my PB.
>>76747146Why didn't your collegiate coach fix it?
>>76747146that ass is fat
>>76747444Impressive... Very nice. Now let's see OP's lifts.
I fell for the whole "abs are made in the kitchen" meme and the idea that you can develop a strong core by just spamming compound movements. Wasted a year of my time before I realized I was getting nowhere. Started doing abs 2-4x a week and within a few months my main lifts all went up and I looked better than ever. Don't know why I didn't train them directly sooner. Abs are just like any other muscle anyway.
>>76747183I've been going to the gym for 16 years, I still don't know what the fuck people mean when they say "volume for strength"
>>76747166Legs are the checkers of lifting and there are less huge naturals than doctors
>>76747146ya i realized there is no right or wrong in this game. there is a merit in each form and there is no reason to hang urself to align with something that doesn't seem to work for you. the most retarded mothr fkers are the ones who read 1 book or learn from 1 source and think they know all. almost as retarded as joining a "weight lifting class."
>>76747315I think people just assume you ONLY do isos without any compounds but yes isos to target weak areas make perfect sense.
