yes, you can get to a point that you are doing them for cardio and cardio is all that is essential for fitness. however this may cause a muscle imbalance that can effect posture/mobility, and could cause health issues, so it is best to balance out with a pulling exercise too. it also will not be effective at developing a particularly large or aesthetic physique.
