Tell me why you aren't eating peanut butter?
>>
That's not a question.
>>
>>76749233
Too expensive. I can only afford peanuts.
>>

I go through 1 big jar a week of smooth 1 little jar of crunchy

not bulking

It makes me constipated

Because I took the cashew butter pill and never looked back.

when i was younger i was a fat fuck who loved peanut butter so it pained me later to figure out how calorie dense it is. but i still indulge from time to time

too many calories and I don't want to be a fatty. see >>76749358

I eat it every day in my cereal that I make myself. Melt together coconut oil, chocolate chips, peanut butter, pour over rice chex, mix, then add powdered sweetener and protein powder while continuing to mix. Can eat on its own, with milk like normal cereal, or with Greek yogurt. Yummy!
>>
>>76749233
A spoonful with my chocolate protein powder tastes delicious and helps me hit my calorie target for the day
>>
How to make your own? How to make it shelf stable without fridge?

Too high cal, low return, might potentially be oxidized, you'd be better off.with raw walnuts, pecans or diznuts

it only has one ingredient: peanuts
where does the sugar come from??
>>
>>76749837

You never looked at the back? The average PB has 2-3g added sugar per serving.

>where does the sugar come from??
It's added for taste and I think it keeps the solids and fats from separating.

peanut butter is one of those foods that's so much better homemade, store bought does not compare at all.
>>
>>76750105

You must be american lol
>>
>>76750691
How do you make it? Don't they require like 6 million peanuts for 1 jar?
>>
>>76750732
I use a vitamix, I think a food processor works too. It's just dry roasted peanuts and a little bit of salt. You can get special peanut butter stock that's all the darker, creamier ones. You do need a lot, it's incredibly dense. 3oz is like 500 calories.
>>
>>76750742
I have a vitamix too. I had no idea you could just blend that shit and get peanut butter. I was under the impression it would just turn into powder like that pb2 you can buy at the store. BTW do you know how to easily get the skin off of peanuts? I can only buy raw peanuts where I live, so I have to roast them myself and unpeel the skin off. The bags I buy don't have the shells or anything, it's just the raw peanuts with the skin still attached.
>>
>>76749233
Im cutting
>>
>>76750742
How do you store home made peanut butter? How long before spoil?

>>76750765
> I can only buy raw peanuts where I live, so I have to roast them myself and unpeel the skin off
I don't believe you.
>>
Peanut butter is a lot of work for something that's just mashed up peanuts, which I can just do with my teeth. It's actually kind of stupid.
>>
peanut butter is god tier with oatmeal
>>
>>76749233
It's not a thing where I live and there are better and cheaper sources of fat and protein out there.
>>
>>76749233
Because I can buy wholesale peanuts instead.
>>
>>76749477
>How to make your own?
Put roasted unsalted peanuts in a food blender.
Blend until you get the texture you want.
You can add sugars or salts if you're a disgusting fat body, and adding peanut oil will smooth it out a bit if you need.

>How to make it shelf stable without fridge?
Just put it in a mason jar and keep the lid on and you'll be fine.
>>
>>76749233
eating more than 2 spoons a week is not part of a balanced diet

peanut butter expensive? it's like 1/3 or 1/2 price of almond butter. u need to improve your salary asap or quit everything and milk your way to professional school.

It’s amazing that each cashew is from a separate big fruit that gets thrown away. The cashews themselves are poisonous raw. But sure, take all the nuts from an entire tree, toast the shit out of them and then grind that into a a slurry. Yum yum I’m so based and pilled, this is definitely a totally natural thing to eat.
>>
>>76749233
>buy crunchy peanut butter
>it's smooth pb with bits of peanuts sprinkled on top
Every time.
>>
>>76749313
Peanuts are the patrician's choice anyway. Peanut skins are healthy, too
>>
>>76751469
>I don't believe you.
I live in the middle of nowhere Brazil. The reason I have a nice vitamix blender like you is because my family put all our belongings and furniture in a shipping container and moved here from the US.

>>76752229
I don't mind the skins, but I don't think it's healthy to eat them after it's been roasted since some of them are close to charred. And I heard that eating raw peanuts can be bad for you because they can contain some mold that causes liver cancer or something which is why peanuts are always roasted before sold in the US.

But it's difficult to eat whole peanuts on bread

>>76752218
Raw cashews aren't poisonous, just the shells are (slightly). And the juice of the cashew apple is used to make drinks. Stupid post.
>>
>>76752218
You think you are being clever with your post, but you are just highlighting how hopelessly fucking stupid you are.
A cow will try and trample you to death if you take a bite out of it. We work around this problem by first killing the cow with a gun from a distance. Yum yum, I'm so based and other brainlet wordslop.
Stop listening to goatis. He's a moron, and so are you. There are loads of foods that are harmful without processing, that's WHY we process them you fucking retard...

Peanut butter is expensive compared to peanuts.

>>76752290
>I live in the middle of nowhere Brazil.
Why? Why don't you live in the city? Can you order peanut butter online?
>>
>>76752749
Lucky for you, peanuts aren't a nut.
>>
>>76753038
Not really at the cost per calorie ratio. If you eat peanuts, 25% The of the calories are not even bioavailable.
>>
>>76749810
No
>>
>>76753077
I accept your concession.
>>
>>76753038
To my surprise, they now sell peanut butter here. And jelly too. These things were unheard of here years ago. This is a city where I live, but the population is less than 15,000 and it's where my mom was born. I'm more interested in making it myself though since he said it's much better homemade.

When making your own peanut butter with the blender, is it okay to put in cocoa powder in there too, or will that only dry it out too much? I wonder if I should put in a bit of coconut oil in there to counteract that. Also does anyone know how to make jelly too? All the jelly in the stores have like 20 kilos of added sugars.
>>
>>76751990
I'd rather eat real peanuts
>>
>>76749233
I just ate a good spoonful in my oats. My favorite preworkout meal
>>
>>76753148
I just looked up how people make homemade jelly at home, and it's so much worse than store-bought jelly. These people are using 20 kilos of sugar unironically.
>>
>>76753505
It's not actually. It comes out to the same amount per volume of jelly used pretty much.
>>
I just got done eating peanut butter; I can't do it 24/7 bro.
>>
>eat peanut butter
>shit peanut butter
>for days
Like the same texture coming out as went in. Its horrible. What am I doing wrong?
>>
>>76749233
Because it's one of the most calorie dense foods around. Give me a jar and a spoon and 5 minutes later I'll have eaten two days' worth of meals and still feel hungry. I love peanut butter, but I certainly don't keep any in the house.

Because it's not real food, I don't know why americans like it. The fuck am I supposed to do with peanut butter? Just spread it on toast and then spread Nutella over it?
>>
>>76753148
>population is less than 15,000
>city

Kek...

Regardless, you can flavor it with coco or whatever you want, I'd do it in small batches in case you don't like it. You can add sugar to sweeten it, salt to make it more savory, and any oils you add will help smooth and soften it if it becomes too dry or hard. I'd stick with peanut oil so as not to change the flavor profile too much, but cocoanut oil will work as well.
>>
>>76753052
>If you eat peanuts, 25% The of the calories are not even bioavailable.
Because?

>>76753663
You need to consume it again after you shit eat, it requires double digestion because of fiber.
>>
>>76754970
Because the fats and proteins are encased in a fibrous matrix that the human body cannot fully break down.
>>
>>76753686
Do you have a problem with peanut butter but not Nutella? Seems arbitrary.
>>
>>76749233
Its just canola oil and peanuts, the corn syrup i doubt is bad, preservatives though i try to stay away from.

I wouldn't do it if I had to shell and roast the peanuts from scratch. It takes hundreds to make a serving.

>>
>>76756344

>>
>>76756248
I eat one ounce of walnuts a day, with breakfast, just for the dietary fat. If I have peanut butter in the house, I'm eating way more than an ounce of it per day. So yeah, for me, its too many calories.
>>
>>76756448
Oh, okay, so you have trouble controlling yourself with peanut butter.
>>
>>76756591
Yeah. I have trouble controlling myself with a lot of foods. For the most part, my self control begins and ends at the grocery store. If I don't buy something, I can't eat it. So I buy just what I need for my meals for a week and that's it. No snack foods, no take out, no restaurants. On a cut anyway.
>>
>>76756682
Very wise of you.props on the preventative self control though. Good on you.
