It depends on the medication and if it was anti-anxiety by purpose or off-label. For example, diazepam will slow you down and cause more inactivity which may cause weight gain, But then there are other medications, which are antipsychotics, which are used for off-label anxiety, like Seroquil, which mess with how your insulin operates, leading to more fat storage. In any case, yes, weight gain from medications that are used for improving mental health is extremely common. I'm currently on a medication called latuda for mood stabilization and anxiety relief. I highly recommend it because it's been proven to be weight neutral and it's been very beneficial for me. If you can ask your doctor for it, I would really give it a shot. It doesn't have any of the side effects of the older types of medication used for this purpose.

Slow and steady wins the race... unless the race is about crawling out of the underworld o Anorexia Nervosa, in which case getting the hell out of dodge and up to BMI 20 is correlated with lower risk of relapse, but I tried the quick and dirty way once and panicked at my rate of gain.

On the bright side that gets me a state funded dietician... not sure what to expect. I revealed my power level to a nurse by going on an hour long monologue and admitting that I find that way easier than small talk. I'm the awkward wallflower in social settings. But talking about activity multipliers, sarcopenia-range cut-off values for calf circumferences, strategic employment of EVOO for blood glucose regulation and interpreting falsely elevated lean mass readings on a BIA scale as a proxy for edema with a medical professional and it's like a switch gets flipped.

Most fruit sugar is also heavily diluted and most the sweetness is also accented by citric acid.
