i hate squatting
>>
>>76753320
I love doing the squat, i just don't like the doms in my hips
>>
>>76753320
Same. I just do leg extensions and leg curls now. Honestly my thighs are developed enough already.
>>
You don't squat because you like it, you squat because you need to.
>>
>>76753814
Why would I need to? I've been working out since the late 2000s and stopped squatting ages ago.
>>
>>76753814
You don't NEED to do any exercise
>>

based
>>76753814

>>
Yep. As soon as I got out of high school I said I will never squat again and I haven’t.

I was always comically weak at squats despite being the very strongest guy in my grade at both power clean and incline bench. Something about my body just can’t squat im sure it has to do with flexibility or just my own feeling of “claustrophobia” when squatting and subconsciously fearing being crushed by the weight.
>>
>>76753818
Post body, don't forget your chicken legs.
>>
>>76753320
I only squat very light weight. If I want to push legs heavy that's what machines are for. You only get one set of knees.
>>
>>76753320
One less DYEL on my rack
>>
>>76753895
Why would I care about having chicken legs? Johnny Bravo is peak male form. My gf thinks guys with big legs look gay.
>>
>>76753893
Do you do other leg exercises? Are your legs swole?
>>
>>76753320
anyone who tells you that you need to squat is either a newfag to the gym and has watched too many tom platz reels or a fat powerlifter whose entire identity is using their gut to get out of the hole

there are literally dozens of other knee flexion exercises that are better for hypertrophy than a conventional back squat

squat's alright. I wonder if one day I'll get good enough at it that I can rest anywhere with only my feet on the ground like God intended. I can do a deep squat, but not for long.
>barbell squats
yeah fuck that shit. It's doesn't even grow attractive muscles. A deadlift is at least something you'll ever do outside of a combat rescue.
>>
im going for 300 lbs tomorrow its a PR for me
>>
>>76753320
i've always hated squats but today i finally tried putting a little piece of wood under my heels while i was squatting and i get it now. i kneel, squatGODS
>>
>>76754130
>there are literally dozens of other knee flexion exercises that are better for hypertrophy than a conventional back squat
No guy who says this had a father or healthy testosterone levels
Just squat. It's not some great mystery. It's the best thing you can do and there's no downside, despite the crying of scaredy cats.
>>
>>76754408
there is a downside when you can squat more than twice your bodyweight, young fella.

you'll learn one day
>>
>>76754408
best thing for what? certainly not hypertrophy
>>
Squats are the ultimate filter. Losers who don't squat claim xyz reasons why they don't, but they're just trying to justify their terrible choice for not doing the best exercise known to man. Also, its fucking fun, especially if you're pushing heavy weight.

There you go. Leg day complete. Add leg curls & extension if ur nasty
>>

you didn't lift the weight
>>
squatting is a short leg workout. that’s why asians love it.
>>
I hated squatting but now I hate 45degree bench press too because of plate loading/unloading and insane blood pressure in my head when i do them.
Now i do single legged horizontal machine leg press and finally enjoy leg days again. I effortlessly max out it with both legs but not with single
>>
>>76753320
I only do squats, deadlifts and farmer walks for legs
>>
>>76753814
No exercise builds as much mental toughness as the squat.
>>
Injurious exercise that kills your lower back.

Proving goatis point lmao
>>
>>76753320

So don't? Just deadlift instead if you want a strong back and legs
>>
>>76754130

>Worrying about leg hypertrophy
You're not a competitive bodybuilder, and neither am I. On the other hand general leg strength is a great thing to have for a wide variety of sports.
>>
>>76755377
None of that matters when you're under hundreds of pounds trying to crush you
>>
>>76754652
That's pretty good progress for 2.5 months.
>>
>>76754652

Posts like these are telling me you have under a 5 plate squat without actually telling me.
>>
>>76753320
All squats? Even front squat, split squat, box squat, belt squat, goblet squat, SSB squat, etc? Or just straight bar back squat?
>>
>>76754116
I naturally have big calves and I ride a bike for cardio which has developed my legs enough. I hate the look of big quads.

> hypertrophy

It's always this that people bring up when they say you don't need to Squat. Who the fuck cares about Hypertophy? What the fuck is wrong with Gen Z?? Men used to lift to be STRONG, because it's FUN to be STRONG. Gen Z just cares about getting as big as possible even though they stay pathetically weak and then have a heart attack at 26. It's laughable.

Squats work out 40-70 muscles depending on form. Machines work out 2-3 muscles at maximum. Those muscles will get strong using machines, JUST those muscles NO others. If you try to do any functional strength activity you will get tremendously injured because the small supplementary muscles are pathetically weak
>>
There is a limit to squats, I can squat 120kg 5x5 and I weigh 100, I've done 130 one rep max. Why would I push further? My legs are already naturally big, and I don't want my ass to get any bigger.
At this point I'm focusing on upper body strength and hypertrophy because no other task I do requires strength more than what I already can lift, even half of it.
>>
>>76756166
The father teaching his daughter to grow big ass so that another man can fuck the shit out of her. Cuck.

>>76756191
If you care about functional strength and stabilizer muscles then you should do single leg and single arm exercises.
>>

>that feeling of going into a deep squat stretch and pausing for a few seconds, contemplating the fact that the weight of the world is resting on your back and that failure means certain death as your lower body, the true foundation of your raw, human strength explodes, bringing the weight back up thus defying any worldly logic
sorry anon you either get it or you don't
>>
I hate squatting with a stiff bar (like the ones in my homegym and real gym). With a bendy women's weightlifting bar it is fun, and more ergonomic like a camber bar.
>>
>>76753814
100% this
Endocrine response is what makes gains
Not just "stimulating" the muscle
You need stimulation but no one who does only isolations gets big

Kek
Dudes who run SS to intermediate and then swap to a higher volume program make more gains in the first year than you have your entire lifting career

Bitch I made my own cyber bars. Ya know how? Lifting heavy ass weight.

I've recently switched to zercher from deep high bar, just because it feels better on my hips. I don't really give a fuck about legs, but make myself do them at least moderately because you should

Genetics, lotta bowing in the hips and knees. Treatment is phosphorus/vit d plus weights to keep up density and tissue support. I have to squat one leg at a time and it's hell on the knees, right now a combo of bulgarian split squats and single leg band press.
