Roast my tattoo idea:

Whenever I'm tempted to do something that goes against my goals (like binging on a cut), I have this phrase in my head: "Don't betray yourself".

I like the idea that giving in to bad habits is a betrayal of my "past self" because I was counting on "future me" to follow the plan.

I'm considering tattooing this in small text on my forearm, right below my left hand, where I can always see it. Like in the image, but mirrored vertically.

Is this cringe or cool?

cringe as hell just put down the burger nigga

tattoos are always cringe. This tattoo in particular is as worthless as, if the the mantra isn't actively in your mind, having it on your skin still won't help you when you need it. Even if the tattoo enters your POV, even if you actually read it. The feat of will, to connect the mantra to what you're doing, is so much greater than the feat of memory to recall it, that any kind of memory aid is a joke. It's like making a big deal about having special gloves to help you run.
The mantra's fine and I repeated it to myself roughly 100 times a day while getting a job. My argument though was that, since I'm my own best enemy, everything should be easier if I can remove myself from the enemy camp.

It's even worse than those "text wall art" some people hang up in their rooms with meaningless garbage on it because you can always throw them out if you get to your senses. Wanting such text on your body is cringe af.
>>
>>76755824
Gonna look like some anti-suicide cry for help braza. Why do you have to jot it on your skin? Just emblazon it in your mind. Tattoos are preformative and attention seeking. I just imagine whatever I want and decorate my mind. You can see the apple right anon?
>>
>>76755824
I honestly can't think of a cringier, gayer tattoo and placement. Fucks sake anon, the fact that you even considered it this much is sad. Do not get this faggy shit permanently inked on your body.

Super autistic. /fit/ tattoos should be something that enhances your aesthetic. The chuds on this board will probably disagree but sleeves will look good if you're decently muscular.

please don't get some retarded shit like this, bro

normie faggot ngmi's get gay shit like this on their forearm, like epic video game logos and shit.

if you are dead set, no talking yourself out of it, do ribs or leg, then cover it when you mature.
>>
>>76755824
Tattos are antithetical to fitness, just like drugs, alcohol, and any irresponsible risk committed for fun or "feeling alive." Also that idea is gay as fuck, why wear an advert that you have weak will.
>>
Thank god for the internet telling me shit is autistic and stupid to do.
I almost got a tattoo of a Raven wing near my shoulder going down to my arm.

Autistic personal reasons.

99% of tattoos are gay. This one is particularly gay.

Think about it.
>Don't betray yourself
The tacit implication sent to your subconcious is that you're someone who betrays themselves. And now you're fighting against yourself as trying to undo betrayal by selling yourself a quote. You know when a salesman tries to grease up on you and sell you something? Yeah, same thing applies here. Authentic things sell themselves without gay quotes. A bit of ink on your skin isn't going to do anything. Sitting down with a pen every night for a year, trying to understand why you betray yourself might help, ink on skin won't.
>>
>>76755824
You should change your mantra to a positive one, regardless of the tattoo.
Telling yourself "don't" do something is focussing on the negative habit itself - your mind should be set on the why or how the good action is done, for the good outcome.

Super duper cringe faggot. I have no problems with tattoos and they can look good as long as you pick a style and stay with it don't get a fucking ying yang and a Celtic cross.

Literally everyone ive ever seen with a written " meaningful" tattoo is a female with bisexual tendencies, and abuse scars who is just desperate for you to ask about the meaning, so they can tell you their deep story, maaaaaan. So unless you want to be drunkenly cleaning my nut out of your cunt, while i invent an excuse to leave don't get that tattoo.

Here's the thing. I'm actually doing well in different realms of life. I'm self-employed, lean, etc.

But I can't get to the next level. I keep crashing after pushing myself hard for a while.

I'm not satisfied with where I'm at and I don't want to waste anymore time (I'm 35).

I'm just rambling but what I'm trying to say is, I need an extra push. And I thought inking that motto on my arm would make me think "well, now you better live up to it". But it was probably a bad idea.

Okay now that you immediately got hided with the stick, now for the carrot, I was this guy OP
>>76758227

These people on here are not your friends , but they are ripping into the way friends would, if you were going to do something cringey. You are jacked as fuck bud, youre like a more ripped Khabib the Eagle, never stop trying cause the moment you like yourself is when you lose momentum, but a silly tattoo, is not going to change what is clearly a well driven dude.

Getting a wrist tattoo is attention seeking behavior, because it's visible, and also shouldn't hurt you for corporate opportunities, but as someone who sits in those hiring meetings, it def does for senior positions.

I'm a white guy who's parent moved him to bumble fuck high-school in the sticks of New Zealand. When we graduated me and my mostly Maori friend group got tattoos from his uncle on the res. Since I'm a white guy ΔΊ limited it to just my shoulder, cause despite me knowing it's significance people would just assume im a white guy with a tribal tattoo. So if you must get the quote on like your ribs, so then it is just intimate to you. Instead though id say maybe go old dock tattoo style, or like a Yakuza dragon on the back.
>>
>>76760634
>like a Yakuza dragon on the back.
I basically got this style. I'm very heavily tattooed and you would never know if I'm in a long sleeve dress shirt. Full back tattoo down to the back of my knees. Both sides of my chest tattooed and two half sleeves. If OP wants a motivational quote, he should write it on a piece of paper and stick it on his bedroom door. I did it when I was younger and it helped a lot.

If you want a reminder, put a small dot on your wrist every day with a sharpie as a personal representation of your mantra.
>you do it every day so every day you make the commitment to yourself anew as you draw it.
>when you wash it off at the end of the day, you're reminded of the commitment again
