If 6 pack abs is healthy and peak fitness, why MMA fighters do not have 6 packs?

>>76756465He is still one of the best of the division and he has a fat belly and he isn't at heavyweight. Yet he has no abs, /fit/ told me only 6 pack matters, it's peak fitness. Why don't mma fighters have 6pack?
>>76756404Highly visible abs usually means you are on gear or you are in good lighting or you are dehydrated. Very rarely can you actually maintain that look day to day.
>>76756404Ack-shilly, a six pack with about a half-inch layer of flab over it is much lower HNNNNG risk than cutting deep into single digit bodyfat.
Probably something to do with how good they are at cutting. Higher muscle/fat ratio = more difficult cut, I'd assume. Meaning they'd need to dehydrate more, which saps performance
>>76756519More like>bro what if I dehydrated myself right before one of the most intensively draining activities a human can possibly do >not to mention dehydration reduces brain function and you need to be able to actually thinkhmmm.
>>76756404Because he needs to hit a certain weight but it isn't conditioned enough to be very lean and muscular.

>>76756519So is abs bad and unhealthy?>>76756522>HNNNNG riskWhat?>>76756529Wrong, the more muscles you have the better potential for cutting. If you have fat you cannot cut it, cannot dehydrate the fat.
>>76756404God op is such a retarded dick sucking homo.
>>76756543So visible abs = dehydration = unhealthy?>>76756558If MMA fighters had 6 pack that would mean they have more muscles and less fat. But they don't. So is abs unhealthy?
>>76756573>>76756575>>76756577>>76756584>>76756589You are posting fake photoshopped images and where they flexed abs. Show photos during introduction before the fights, photos from the cage.
>>76756404Cain's lack of muscle (and being slow twitch) is part of his great cardio.
>>76756404No way, does his chest tattoo actually say Brown Pride? Hahahahaha
>>76756593>But they don'tSome of them do, depends on the fighter and the weight class. Some of them are naturally a weight class under or over, so some cut more than others. They have a lot of cardio so building muscle is harder.
>>76756588>>HNNNNG risk>What?>>76756593>So visible abs = dehydration = unhealthy?Visible abs aren't necessarily a dehydration or low body fat problem. Having like <5% body fat is a problem, and not having enough aromatase enzyme means extremely low estrogen levels = heart attack = HNNNNG
>>76756647As a mestizo myself, it's pretty sad. Like you're so insecure and racially obsessed you feel the need to do that. I still think skill wise he's the best heavyweight ever. Or one of the best.Let me tell you about the power scaling. Shane Carwin had 12 first round finishes in a row. The biggest hands in ufc history. Junior Dos Santos lit him up with jabs, and didn't get hit once. Then Cain mauled Junior for 9 rounds. Junior was by far the best boxer at the time. If he could do that to him I don't see anyone beating him. All his lost rounds were him getting finished. NOBODY is winning a decision against him. His high pressure, high cardio style (called "swarming" in boxing), mixing elite wrestling with average boxing can bring down the best strikers because they're too afraid of the take downs to concentrate.
>>76756785Junior also had incredible take down defense. Frank Mir said he might as well have a black belt in take down defense. Some of the best. One of the best sprawl and brawlers ever. But Cains was relentless and wore him down. Prime Junior is top 5 in any time period. Carwin's boxing was decent, but Junior was on another level.

>>76756404>mma fighters>healthywhat did he mean by this?
>>76756404Because MMA fighters aren't anywhere near peak fitness. They just need to not be gassed for 2 minutes before break time.
>>76756872Most fights are 15 minutes. 1 minutes break every 5.

>>76756875is it really just 1 min break? even for 5 round ones?
>>76756404I'll be honest as someone who loves and practices the sport for many years now. No gifted athlete wants to be a professional MMA fighter because it pays like shit and it's way too dangerous for something that pays that badly. The sport is way too far to reach its' full potential due to that. The greatest example of how rudimentary MMA is, it's Poatan. Poatan became a professional fighter as an old man after years of being an alcoholic while working in a tire shop. Also, he wasn't even in the top 50 kickboxers of all time and his grappling skill is basically defending takedowns and even then he's possibly at the top 10 of all time on the sport as a 38 year old man. If a guy like LeBron James cared about MMA, he'd dominate at the sport, but it's not as safe and profitable as basketball so there's absolutely no reason for him to do it.Alright, that's was the answer for your implication telling us that MMA fighters are the peak of athleticism, but abs are still suboptimal even among the cream of the crop at any sport worldwide. Just look at that famous picture of every Olympic champion and you'll see that every single one of them have a "high" bf% when compared to bodybuilders. There's a bunch of videos on the topic and I'm tired of typing, but that's that.
>>76757130>ll be honest as someone who loves and practices the sport for many years now. No gifted athlete wants to be a professional MMA fighter because it pays like shitStopped reading there.
>>76756404here's heavy weight with abs. same weight as cane.
>>76756404Heavyweights are fat because they have a much higher weight limit. Almost every fighter under heavyweight is shredded in the cage. They want as much efficient mass for the fight
>>76756404ITT: newfag learns that washboard abs are mostly instagram magic. Nobody actually has THOSE kind of abs. Not even the fitness models you see with those abs. At least not when they're just moving around naturally. Those photos you see of guys' six-packs are flexed, with a pump, with proper lighting, oiled up, dehydrated, and so on. But they don't actually look like that if you were to take a candid shot of them. Not unless we're talking about literal stage-ready bodybuilders.
They're lean. Lightweights are probs 175-180 in the cage, and this is not flexed, no proper lighting and post fight so heavy breathing.
>>76756422They can, look at LeBron and his snatch grip deadlifthttps://www.instagram.com/reel/DNYyMVzunFa/
Welterweight, probably 190 to 200 cage weight. Same as before, they're mid fight, mid strike, still obvious they're lean af.
>>76756506Maybe because MMA fighters are fucking bums? They'd lose to Jake Paul
>>76756404I don't need to train, I just see red
Light heavyweight, one weight class below heavyweight in MMA. Guys are usually 220+ in the cage.Truth is, aside from heavyweights or the occasional "softer" looking fighter like old man Texeira, Ben Askren, Fluffy Hernandez most fighters have excellent musculature and minimal body fat. No, they aren't bodybuilders, but almost all of them would be capable of the "washboard abs" pictures since most of that effect is lighting and posture.
>>76757635>Admiring lebonbon Jaime
>>76756965Soccer players are probably the most accurate in terms of a natural healthy physique
>>76756404It's the fighters build and it's very, very different from otter mode. It isn't attractive at all but it's effective. Wrestling and muay thai is a bit different because the training regimens are different
>>76756404>>76756447>>76756459Not really the greatest examples. They're heavyweights or light heavyweights, they can barely make it three rounds without gassing. It's more about power.
>>76756519They should be visible at weigh ins.
>>76757130>but abs are still suboptimal even among the cream of the crop at any sport worldwide. Just look at that famous picture of every Olympic champion and you'll see that every single one of them have a "high" bf% when compared to bodybuilders. So abs is not peak fitness and health but actually bad? /fit/ is dumb another time?>>76757600You continue to post flexed and shopped images. Show images from the cage.>>76757618It's not only heavyweights, I posted Jamahal Hill. In even lower weight classes, they rarely have abs when not flexed.
>>76757618>Heavyweights are fat because they have a much higher weight limit. Almost every fighter under heavyweight is shredded in the cage.Wrong. On picture there are two guys from lower weight class and they don't have abs even when flexing muscles.
>>76757622>Those photos you see of guys' six-packs are flexed, with a pump, with proper lighting, oiled up, dehydrated, and so on.So it's all fake and /fit/ believes into this scam?Flexed? Everybody has abs when flexed. You can have such abs at 15% body fat.>>76757634He is clearly flexing the muscles in this photo.>>76757638Not relaxed, he is throwing a punch so muscles are flexed.
>>76756404The act of getting kinda actually fat leads to developing a better physique/proportions. If at any point in the process you happened to be lower bodyfat youd look better than not being willing to put on 20-30lbs over a year. But bulking even if already kinda fat you still gain considerably more muscle than otherwise. If you wanted to get as absolutely strong over a year from 15% youd just bulk every day even on rest days.
>>76756404If you had to fight brock lesnar in 1yrs time youre gonna spend how many minths in totat cutting?
>>76757638Theyre both on steroids so abs arent an argument its how you avoid nipples.
>>76756404Becausd that's a heavyweight, most of the heavyweights are fat fucks (Some of light heavyweights too) since they fight at 240 or 260, I don't remember. If you look a lower weight classes you'll see more people with leaner bodies. Most people at the lightweight division have visible abs.
>>76757648>most fighters have excellent musculature and minimal body fatMost fighters have 15% body fat, some 20% or more. Also, without weight classes most would be 20-25% body fat.>>76757654Soccer players have to run large distance, they cannot afford to have body fat and carry it.>>76758043Nate Diaz is not heavyweight and he is fat, no six pack.
Since this is a thread about fighting I was wondering how effective just crushing someones windpipe is. Like if I get my hand on your neck and just grip it like I'm holding onto a dl pr surely something must get destroyed in there. I can feel the pressure doing it on myself and that's barely gripping at like 20%.
>>76757130>If a guy like LeBron James cared about MMA, he'd dominate at the sportimagine typing this shit out like it wasn't the most sub 50 IQ post imaginable. be ashamed of yourself
>>76756404>If 6 pack abs is healthy and peak fitness"Peak fitness" is relative to the activity you train for. For bodybuilding, a 6 pack is a necessity, but it's not for fighting. For long distance running, being a skinny fuck is peak, but it's not for weight lifting./fit/ is just filled with a bunch of idiots with low self esteem that think they need to be huge jacked, or skinny as fuck to be "fit".
>>76756983Sure they do, Cain was HW champ
>>76758586Yeah it works but if they know what they're doing they will move out of it and grab your arm and put you to sleep or break your armIt depends if you have their own arms controlled and how. No one's just going to sit there and let you strangle them if they want to live lmfao. They'll writhe and kick and shrimp out It'll work on idiots
>>76758300>If you look a lower weight classes you'll see more people with leaner bodies. They are still 15% body fat or more. While /fit/ says peak fitness is 5%.>Most people at the lightweight division have visible abs.Only if they flex the muscles.
>>76756404At least two factors are relevant. 1) Bodyfat - if you're carrying extra belly fat, it covers your abs. OP's fighter isnt a fat boy, but he is carrying a little extra, and that's okay from both a health and performance standpoint, but it does mean that the abs cannot be seen2) ab size/shape. Genetics plays a huge role here. Some people have strong and powerful muscles that are not hypertrophied and aesthetic. A lot of these fighters might be like that. Naturally, their ab muscle shape is flat, not "lumpy" of visible. Like ears, noses and biceps, people have different shapes, some bigger, some smaller, but all functional. Abs are the same. 3) Training abs may or may not hypertrophy them sufficiently to be visible depending on 1), 2) as well as the type of traing done. A bodybuilding approach to abs will hyperophy them more than a fighters endurance approach will.
>>76758900>While /fit/ says peak fitness is 5%.no one has ever said that
>>76758781>whoLike I said, brownoids have nothing to be proud of. That's why they are so insecure.
>>76758163If i had to fight brock lesnar in 1yr id probably be cutting weight the whole year. You are just an idiot, even 300lb brock yeah same thing low 200s lean.
>>76756404Theres no mike tyson of mma to prioritize speed/striking. >in mma he loses to mcneely watch the first roundI feel like mma mike with 1yr prep would dominate mma ufc or the more roided divisions.
>>76757600Both get ko’d by fatso asspinall
>>76756404MMA fighters have nutrition and hydration routines designed around being as big as possible while staying within their weight class, so they dehydrate themelves before a weigh in and then bloat back out with water weight for the fight
>>76756404I forgot the science behind it but more muscle pulls more oxygen away from the rest of your body Velaquez probably had the best cardio of any 230-250lb man on earth. As a similar build as him It helps alot
>>76758672>"Peak fitness" is relative to the activity you train for. For bodybuilding, a 6 pack is a necessity, but it's not for fighting.Bodybuilding is not activity, not a sport. It's a joke.>but it's not for weight lifting.Being fat makes weight lifting easier.
>>76758672>"Peak fitness" is relative to the activity you train for. For bodybuilding, a 6 pack is a necessity, but it's not for fighting. For long distance running, being a skinny fuck is peak, but it's not for weight lifting.Peak fitness is actually a physique in between all of those. >>76756404Being an MMA fighter isn't being healthy, it's training your body to participate in a specific sport.
>>76756404Fighters do not care about health. They only care about performance at all cost and will willingly harm their long term help if it means they could win every match. The same is true with any sport. Health is not the point. Health can be tossed out of the window for some wins.
>>76756404heavyweights don't become heavyweights by counting calories
>>76756404Yeah those MMA athletes are super healthy! That's why their joints are fucked up and none of them can form a coherent sentence past the age of 40.
MMA is about making weight not necessarily having abs. Smaller guys have abs due to low bf. Bigger guys don't since weight helps with power. DC himself says that him at 265 MOGS him at 205
>>76756404Because that’s bullshit. A little bit of fat is better for tanking stress.
>>76757654>Natural Kek.
>>76756404You forget fighters do only meme lifts and 70% or more cardio. You develop muscle hitting the bag and it does make you hit harder and faster but itll never make you big, also only goes so far to an extent.Someone like francis more roided for wbc mind you probably hits harder than a lot of people benching 500+lbs, mike was roiding too, probably lifting way less than francis and legit hits harder flat out. Once youre at like 3pl8+ bench territory its 1shot kos and powerful bodyshots you want to be leaner and faster. I for one would rather be hulkingly strong since im good at speed anyways so id rather have tankability and 1inch punch kinda shit(heavy on delts/tris) and ofc a blocky core and big legs for grappling/realistic kb. But im still lifting weights. If i wanted to be the best at fighting I could I'd immediately lose 20-30lbs and my movement and speed would go up a ton. I am working on 150lbs tricep pushdowns and 40in vertical asap so i gotta get beefier before cutting, since if i really cut down id basically deload to 50% working weight for 2-4mo and my strength would go way up.
