Some people seem to worship this guy and talk about him in awed tones because of his achievements, yet when I listened to him speak I came away feeling unsettled and repulsed by his abusive relationship with himself. He sounded deeply mentally ill and not at all someone to treat as a role model except in the most arms-length sense like "yeah it's possible to transform yourself from a fat loser into someone who performs at a high level".

I appreciate his ability to push himself to new limits and achieve his own goals. I also appreciate that he doesn't let his own self doubt hold him back nor his past. He gets out and tries after falling down. However, I think his toughness and grind are not utilized in such a beneficial way. He's putting so much energy into developing toughness with his body when our society is extremely jacked up. We have injustices everywhere, the government doesn't follow the constitution and tons of patriots in prison for observing their God given rights. I'd rather see him putting in this much of a grind fixing society for his fellow man rather than running real far. Between the FED and anti-2a laws, there's enough fight here for all of us and I'd rather he be fighting for our God given rights than running through the desert, but he clearly isn't awake yet, so what can we do.

Goggins is absolutely mentally ill and overly abusive to himself, with an insane capacity for discipline yet he doesn't know how to direct it better.What people find compelling about him is simply the idea of mind over mater, he was a fatass with actual low iq and leaning disabilities but still got rich and famous and jacked out of sheer force of will and insane work ethic, you could argue that the idea of forcing your life to be miserable for no reason is retarded and I'd agree, but there's also a certain truth to the fact that if you want to reach your goals and become someone proud of yourself then chances are you're gonna have to embrace the suck for some time in your life before you can get there.
