Someone told me that this program was too taxing on the lower back. Yet I'm confused because it's recommended for beginners. How do you fit squating, benching, barbell rows, deadlifting and OHPs into a program then if it is to fatiguing? Was that guy bullshitting me?
>>76757677It is taxing on the lower back, but that's what you need when you're a noob. I would say drop down to 3x5 whenever you feel like it tough, don't try to grind out 5x5 across if it's miserable.
>>76757677The best part of it for beginners is the app holding your dumbass hand until you figure out what you're doing. It's not a program you should do very long.
This is a workout to take advantage of newbie gains. Once you can no longer make a 10lb jump on a per workout basis this is no longer for you.
I'd delete squats from workout A and add another pressing exercise. I'd replace barbell rows with T-Bar Rows as well.Do at minimum triples on the DL workout B.
>>76757710Would you recommend changing after reaching 1/2/3/4 pl8
Workout Routine: AxBxAxxBxAxBxxA Day:> Squat (3x10/8/6) > Bench (3x10/8/6) > DB Curl (3x10) > Leg Press (3x10) > Dips or Calf Raises B Day:> Deadlift (3x4/2/1) > OHP (3x10/8/6)> Barbell Shrugs (3x10)> Barbell Rows (3x10) Mines better.
>>76757677Because you're a beginner you can't push yourself enough that it becomes that fatiguing. It's becomes more of a problem as you get more advanced, which is why this program is only recommended for 3 months or so.>>76759150Forget about 1/2/3/4. Despite what roiders on /fit/ told you it's actually not an easy goal for most people. Just transition into any "bodybuilding" program, for example Lyle McDonald's general bulking routine, but any will do.
>>76759219You sound like you don't know what you're talking about desu
>>76759339Because *you* don't.
>>76759219bruh 1/2/3/4 is doable in three years max for anyone short of really unathletic freaks and women, even if they fuck around
>>76759219I was 174 lbs 6'4" never lifted or played a sport in my life and I hit 2/3/4/5 in 2.5 years lifting 3x weekly
>>76759219Stop giving advice.
>>76759588It's doable in one year if you're not a genetic dead end and 6 months if you're very athletic or a fat fuck with lots of leverageThe thing people dont get is that you wont hit all of them at the same time, it really depends on your backgroundI hit 3 a month in, 4 four months in, 1 six months in and 2 eight months in after lifting for 10 months now
>>76759588It's really easy to not hit these numbers if you don't actually put effort in, not try as hard as you can, not recover well, and either have bad form or care too much about perfect form rather than going by feel. I know because I did this, but yeah it's achievable with the caveat that you're actually consistent, pushing hard every time, and recovering decently.
>>767576775 sets is too much, just do 3, and instead of 1 set of deadlifts do 2 sets.
>>767592191/2/3/4 is absolutely achievable for any average able bodied man who puts in a year or two of consistent work. I did it in my mid 30 while balancing jiujitsu and full time work on my feet.
>>76759588I've been lifting for years and I can only do 1pl on the major lifts. I'm also 6'6 and 300lb. Explain that genius boy.
