Can a greater proportion of people run a sub-20 5k or bench 2pl8?
bench 2pl8. You can be a fatass and bench 2pl8. You can't be a fatass and run sub 20.

With zero training, probably the 2pl8 bench as quite a few 300lb fatties can do it. While even skinny twinks would be gassed trying to run just 1k at 4:00/km.With 3 months training you'll get a greater percentage of the general population under 20 than able to lift 2pl8, cardio gains stack fast.
