>>

Yes people can still get buff in their 30s but you can't because you're a low effort shitposter.

You're indian or south american

>>
>>76758919
Of course. Most guys that old just stop caring though. You should be worried about your career at that age and what you will be doing with your adult life.
>>
>>76758919
If you're an incel, yeah. Normies tend to not bother, since they're already socially successful and thus lack impetus.
>>
>>76758943
>he lifts for social status
Actual normalfag
>>
>>76758919
Yeah it takes some tweaks though. Your natty limit is smaller and your rate of growth is slower. So I wouldn't expect to be really buff before 40 even if you did everything perfect.
>>
>>76758949
I don't. But if anon asks a general question it demands a general answer.
>>
I got buff in my 40s

I don't take supplements, protein stakes, vitamins, pre-workout- nothing. I don't use belts (though I do use straps and flat shoes). I don't warm up, my workouts are 35-40 minutes from when I walk in the door (I've timed every one). Compound moments I give myself 3 minutes rest, the rest are superset. I started by lifting the bar and adding 10 lbs weekly until i couldn't. I have visible abs (but only 4) despite never working abs.

Workout Routine:
AxBxAxxBxAxBxx
A Day:
> Squat (3x10/8/6)
> Bench (3x10/8/6)
> DB Curl (3x10)
> Leg Press (3x10)
> Dips or Calf Raises

B Day:
> Deadlift (3x4/2/1)
> OHP (3x10/8/6)
> Barbell Shrugs (3x10)
> Barbell Rows (3x10)

>>76758919
Wtf did he actually start lifting?

You should be at your natty peak by 30 the latest, then you just lift to maintain like twice a week and do cardio not to go over 15% body.
It takes at least 3 years of dedicated lifting to reach natty peak, 5 years is more realistic for your average Joe. So the deadline to start lifting is 25 years.
If you think you can get "big" starting at 30+, then you're in for a bad surprise.

here's a trip to getting buff (if you aren't fat):

bulk to 22-24% bf, then slowly maintain for another year at that percentage range

the more fat you have, the more muscle growth you can induce
>>
>>76758927
This
>>
>>76759013
another hint: there's a reason fat people have IBBF pro-tier muscle mass in their legs while being natty and not even working out lel
>>
>>76759013
>slowly maintain
>just make no progress , but slowly
The fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>76759012
This is just bullshit. Age will cause you to lose your gains you made young anyway, no matter what you do. You will be exactly the same size at 50 whether you started age 15 or age 35, with probably much healthier joints and back in the latter case.
>>
>>76759013
>bulk to 22-24%bf
off to an awful start already
"bulking" to 20%+ bf in your 30s as a man is retarded
>>
>>76759053
>it's OK to spend your most important formative years (14-25) not exercising, building a strong frame, eating goyslop (malnutrition) then you just magically start at 30+ and still make it

hello retards who have no idea what they are doing
>>
>>76759067
Yeah, and you didn't debunk anything, faggot. You just summarised my post with a snarky tone like a woman
>>
>>76759053
You'd have to be retarded to think this. You get stronger if you lift consistently. You will never suddenly just get weaker unless you stop lifting. I see 50+ year old Grey hairs DLing 650+ at my gym every single day and it's a slightly upscale box gym. I've seen a 64 year old man OHP 205 lbs and he said he didn't start lifting until 57.
>>
>>76759073
I've seen far too many out of shape married guys over 30 who "try to get in shape" to what I'm talking about.
Those who actually lift and think they "look good" look like shit.
If you start lifting young and continue to lift and be active, you won't be losing test and your gains, unless you're like 70+.
>>
>>76759067
>starting to lift ten years earlier will magically stop you losing mass as you age
Newbie gains are newbie gains and age doesn't matter. Veteran lifters at middle age and people starting out at middle age are fighting the same battle just from different directions. A guy starting at age 40 *will* be as big as you when you are both 50, assuming he trains properly and has comparable genetics.
>>
>>76759081
You saw a 50+ guy lifting more than a 60+ guy? Holy shit.

Excess fat increases estrogen and lowers testosterone.
High body fat, especially visceral fat, raises aromatase activity (which converts testosterone into estrogen). That hurts muscle growth potential.
>>
>>76759178

>Can you actually get buff in your mid 30s or is it simply too late?

It's not worth it. In your mid 30's, you've already acquired significant hair loss.

Lifting increases your testosterone and DHT.
Increasing your DHT means more hair loss, and there are only two ways to mitigate it. Fin & min, and transplant.
And finasteride has a lot of documented side effects (headaches, erectile dysfunction, depression, and suicidal thoughts).

Just be happy with your body, OP

It's not too late to actually start trying

I know people who have been lifting for 10 years who are still novices, maxing out at 1.5pl8 bench, 15" arms while being kinda fluffy, never doing legs and in general looking like shit. Here's what they all do in common
>Inconsistent as fuck with their training. They might make it to the gym every day for one week, then make a huge deal out of that, and then take a whole week off, then maybe go on Tuesday and Thursday, then another week off, then get in gym 3 days the next week, then 1 day the week after, rinse and repeat
>Training with no clear purpose, no real goal, no progressive overload. They will show up, do some half arsed sets on a few machines with the exact same weight and number of reps as the last time, then maybe go for free weights but use light weight they're fully comfortable lifting. Then go do some low intensity cardio for fucking 10 minutes
>Bad diet, nuff said. It's 100% true you can't out train a bad diet, if you eat like shit you're gonna look like shit and perform like shit. Learn to cook if you wanna get anywhere
>Or, just undoing all the good work done through the week by pounding down a case of beer and bunch of junk food every Friday and Saturday

You need to be honest with yourself though bro. If you have been fucking around and not taking lifting seriously, not giving it any commitment, it's never too late to start. Even in your 30s
>>
>>76759407
But “normal” ≠ “optimal” for muscle growth or hormonal balance

Here’s the nuance that gets lost in the insult:

Aromatase activity rises gradually with fat mass.

At 22%, you probably have more visceral fat than someone at 12–15%.

>>
>>76759108
being a little fat allows you to have more muscle and train with bigger weights
your body gets used to the bigger weights, you can then cut back down to your desired bf% and should keep most of the strength
>>
>>76758965
This. Peak adult male strength is like mid 30’s, and if you keep training there’s no reason you shouldn’t be stronger in your mid 40’s.
>>
>>76758926
I would be careful taking advice from any streamer/youtuber. These guys can actually afford to take big losses.
>>
>>76759353
This is a cope from a fat bald guy btw. If you lose your hair you can't stop it so just go with it and be jacked and bald instead of pathetic and bald.
>>
>>76758919
yes but you need much more time compared to when you're young. At the same time if you old you should know that sometimes good things require time and not get impatient.

I did and my gains were on pace with a 20 year old. I lift as much as the body can handle and eat enough.

If your hair is DHT sensitive you're either going to lose it anyway or already did.

There is a 60 yo at my gym who mogs most everyone. Has that "lifted all his life" look to him
Then I found his Instagram (I snoop on everyone) and found his transformation was from like age 50

He wears an insulin pump so my working theory is that he got diabetes which tanked his testo, and so he got on TRT
