What does it take to get strong? I don't mean Strongman strong. But the stats you see posted a lot on /fit/ (i.e 1/2/3/4). Is it truly all genes at the end of the day? Does starting late like in your late 20s mean you won't ever see how strong you could have been in your youth?

You just keep adding it. Even if you're only doing one set if you lose a rep fine but the moment you get back to 8 or whatever reps you add weight again.
