Do you guys think I can go from my current bench PR of 2pl8 for 10 reps to 3pl8 1RM at age 35+?
Or will I ACK myself irredeemably and regret it sorely

How often do you progressively overload?

Currently I'm slimming down but I'm usually doing PPL 6 times a week and try to do it every session

With a serious bench effort I would of course incorporate a real program like Smolov and have alternating weeks I'd imagine

May reduce my days of training to 5 days and turn my press days into bench days

So 225x10 to -> 315x1
Your theoretical orm is 300 lbs you only have to get 15 more lbs in there. Just try putting micro plates on your 10 rep set until you're 10 repping 236ishthen you're there

Estimated top end is not the same as true top, unless you practice ORM a lot you will probably fall a bit short, likely around 280, simply because you're not used to going that heavy, not because of actual lack of strength.

I think he can get there with like the typical high frequency low volume workup like 2 or 3 weeks before.

I don't know why you'd ever train bench at 10 reps ever but if you weren't retarded, you'd already be at 3pl8
