Any former smoker bros successfully transfer to vaping and then off nic altogether?
I've gotten so bad with smoking I bought some vapes and planning to transition to that and then hopefully off altogether.
>inb4 willpower
Fuck off. If that was an option I would have quit a long time ago.
>>
it's 2025 man we're all doing zyns now, only gay yuros and old chinese guys still smoke cigarettes
>>
im lucky enough to not have an addictive personality, so i just stopped cold turkey. what keeps me away from it tho are that i have few friends who smoke and i remember how bad it is for my health and wealth.
>>
I was to a pack a day in 2016. Quitting through a taper was the most awful shit ever, but I did it after months of fucking suffering.
Got addicted again in 2020, but instead of trying to taper, I bought those fake cigarettes online, the ones they use in the movies, and a pack of sketch green tea cigs. I didn't even make it through a full pack of the nice ones before I was done with smoking altogether.
Here's why I think this worked.
>when you smoke something and you don't get the dopamine/chemical effect, your brain thinks its bullshit
>the 'doing something with your hands during downtime' suddenly isn't necessary because it's not fun
>you naturally stop desiring it altogether and no longer feel like smoking
I was a little grumpy for a few days but it was criminally easy compared to trying to taper, which is what I suspect you're trying to do by going to vaping or zyns or whatever. Fuck that dude. Smoke all you fucking want. Just smoke the cigs that have zero nicotine. Inhale them like you're a chimney. Smoke as much as you fucking can.
Brand is Honeyrose I think. They're like 10 bucks a pack. Buy a fucking carton and then laugh at how few you get through before you never feel like smoking again. Multiple flavors too.

It sounds like a neat idea and I'm glad it worked for you but I dont think it would work for me because I have too easy access to cheap reserve smokes and I just know I'd immediately switch back to the real stuff.
>>
I mixed my own juice.
Slowly lowered the nic content until almost zero.
Then once I was out I quit.
Haven't had in months.

Switch to nicotine pouches, guaranteed way to stop

Smoked for about 12 years. Vapes didn't help me at all, I just vaped more. Lozenges and pouches helped a bit but you're still addicted. Ended up easy going cold turkey and never looked back
>Inb4 willpower
I'm not going to harp on what you already know, but if you really want to quit it's going to take some grit no matter what method you choose. Having a kid is what made me want it. Go find what will make you want it bad enough

nicotine pouches yellow your teeth, rip up your gums, and are just as addictive as any other delivery method. if you actually want to quit gum/patch/lozenge works, just gotta take it slow and taper off
>>

I'm on about nicotine pouches not tobacco pouches. They don't yellow your teeth. Never seen it in myself or others or ever heard it reported.

But yeah just use replacement therapy.

nicotine pouches do yellow your teeth. it's not as bad as tobacco but saliva + nicotine + enamel = yellowing. i thought they couldn't because the pouches are white, but saw the effects after about 6 months of use

Yes, I quit this year. 3 months so far. I smoked a half a pack a day from 18-21ish then vape only for 12 years. I quite using the patch 8 week or whatever program as written and supplemented with nicotine gum as needed. Near the end I just stopped. Honestly, the only reason I did it was I had kids. I still think nicotine is the bomb, but weirdly I don’t have the cravings anymore. If you don’t have the mindset to quit itll never work imo.

This. I didnt quit nicotine using the method you described before, but vapes are fucking trash and i was constantly on the verge of vomiting. I relapsed on tobacco and im doing snus now, i stopped smoking since the moment i put the first snus in my mouth. I can even go for longer without nicotine now, plus you can get your nicotine hit in places where smoking is forbidden. Im planning on cutting the snus dosage and replacing it with chewing gum step by step, once you break the habit of smoking, it feels way easier to quit nicotine. Inhaling shit like smoke from a cig, crack, weed, paint or whatever the fuck gets you an instant and really strong spike on that substance, making it way more addictive. Snuns make your nic blood levels more constant, so you dont feel the rush of needing nicotine so bad, at least this is my experience

I have insomnia today, i DID quit once using vapes. I repeat, vapes are trash, dont trust chink shit.

I did it cold turkey
>>inb4 willpower
That's just the solution, anon. You need willpower to stick to a "wean off" schedule.
>>
>>76762902
you're going to be addicted to both cigarettes and vapes. seriously. read allen carr. quit cold turkey. it's the only thing that works. taper just makes you torture yourself until you cave and smoke again.
>>
Avoid both at all cost - pure poison.
>>
>>76762902
If you taper off nicotine very slowly it's easy. Very, slowly like three months. You can control how much is in vape right? Reduce it by 2% every time
>>
>>76762902
I smoked from 15 to 28, it's a bitch. I can stop everything else with ease but for some reason cigs torment me. I went 3 months without them, smoked one - tasted 90% like shit. Kept the pack like a retard- the last one tasted 20% like shit.

I've quit again now, let me tell you that cold turkey is the only way. After like a week it's all just psychological, and your memory of a cigarette is so much nicer than it actually is. It is literally a chemical trick.
You seem to want to try vaping as a step down, best of luck, they never scratch the itch for me and the people I know that vape do it all the time instead of in 10 minutes breaks throughout the day. They consume way more nic overall
