I recently put an elliptical in the corner.

I found I have ended up using the smith machine function more than I expected after doing free weight barbell movements.

What’s the name of that type of carpet? It’s more sturdy to wear & tear?
Love the mirrors.

My stall mat under the rack is slowly shifting even with carpet tape, like an 1/8" per month or so. I'm gong to have to take all of that shit off and move the rack to put it back in place soon. Maybe extra carpet tape and gorilla tape on top will keep it in place.
God damnit.

It's commercial grade. I picked it exactly for wear and tear. 100% made the right choice. Was about 50% more than normal soft residential carpet. But since it's a small space it really was only a few hundred bucks more.

ideally, you should look into commercial powerblock dumbbell set, which can also be used on a barbell. but it seems that /fit is a bunch of poor bastards who struggle to make at least 100k/year and are very stingy.

So if $2500 powerblock is too much for you, then look into bowflex dumbbells and barbells. they should cost you about $1000 overall.

If you want the best all-in-one type multi-machine, look at life fitness g4 or hoist v4-elite or hoist 2-stack-multi-gym. should cost you about $3-8k, but worth the price.

this machine in the pic is about $4000, but it's like having an entire 24-hour-fitness machines in one.

Idk man, for $4k I think someone would be better off joining a nice gym and getting years of access to great equipment. I’ve used the kinds of multi-machines in your picrel: they are convenient but usually do each movement worse than their standalone counterparts or just plain old free weight exercises.

Next week I'm gonna upgrade my home gym, right now I just have an adjustable bench and fixed dumbbells in 15s, 25s, 35s, and 45s. Regret getting fixed weight now because it quickly became not enough weight for progression but a good set of adjustable dumbbells and plates is expensive as fuck so I think I'm about to just spring for a rack and barbell setup. Will I be fucking myself if I just get the cheapest shit I can from local walmart or sports outlet?
>>
>>76765681
You're the kind of impulsive poorfag that obsesses over the price and makes stupid short term financial decisions. Do you tihnk you'll regret getting the cheapest shit you can find at walmart?
>>
>>76765715
i dont know nigga I've never bought this shit before that is why i fucking asked. does quality really make that much a difference? I remember being 14 and thinking I needed a high quality keyboard for my pc but as an adult I realize keyboard are keyboards and I shouldve just saved my money. are barbells just barbells and racks just racks? weights just weights?
>>
>>76765722
A good mechanical keyboard is way better than the standard rubber dome shit.
For barbells you want some kind of anti-rust coating on the shaft and usually the sleeves, cheapest is usually basic chrome, a couple hundred bucks. Anything cheaper than that will be prone to rusting, have shitty knurling, poor tensile strength, not standard 20kg/45lb and ~84-86" length and ~28-29mm diameter, etc.
Racks don't have to be as picky as long as it fits where you want to put it and isn't literal pig iron trash. Make sure the hole size and upright dimensions are something standard and can accept rack add-ons for anything you might want in the future. The cheapest cages have those shitty tube steel safeties that can deform and are a pain to change heights. Some have meme pullup bar styles.
Cheapest weights today are rubber. Virgin or crumb rubber. Cheapest virgin rubber weights are CAP. Walmart has their own brand called frombalance, but they've changed its name at least once because of all of the bad reviews for it. Otherwise you'll want something from titan, fringesports, or rogue echo. Look for $1-2/lb at least for 45s. Crumb rubber is usually the cheapest, but most plates are much wider and take up more sleeve space. Look for $1/lb.

You will be absolutely fine with the 1" spin-lock style of adjustable dumbbells.
If you have any used sports goods stores in your area,
you can get a better deal usually.

Be aware, some designs on plates bigger than 10lb.
are too wide, and make movement hard on the dumbbell.
(like the designs with holes in the plates around the outside.)
(perfectly fine on the curl bar though.)

A power block stand like OP has,
makes storage, loading, using them,
much easier too, but it may not be in your budget.

Im looking to add Titans lat tower attachment to my x-3 rack and im wondering if any of you know if its 1:1 or 2:1. If its 2:1 ill probably look for something else.
Also any experience with their smith machine attachment? Is it a a solid buy or would something like the VTS Lite be better?

Thanks
It does look like one of those light socket fans.

>but a good set of adjustable dumbbells and plates is expensive as fuck
Spinlock adjustable dumbbells are as cheap as fixed dumbbells of the same weight.
>>
>>76766631
>1:1
It looks identical to the one from Rep (both chinese) which advertises 1:1. Also, they mention max load of 300. If it was only capable of feeling like 150, it'd be worse than dogshit.
