I don't know where else to ask this. pic unrelatedI'm not sure if I have appendicitis or not, or if I should get it checked out. Since I was 14, every once in awhile I'd have a few seconds of mild discomfort exactly where my appendix is. I'm 30 now, and in recent years this has been happening with increasing frequency, intensity, and length. It's still only discomfort, but every now and then it'll become noticeable pain for a short time. It's gotten to the point where it happens almost every time I lay down on my back, and I sometimes have to fall asleep on my side because it's so uncomfortable (still not painful, just incredibly annoying). I don't have any other symptoms of appendicitis. No stomach pain, no appetite loss, no nausea or sickness of any kind. The only reason I'm worried is because my mother had appendicitis surgery around my age, and my brother had a scare a year ago. I've been eating healthier in the past year, shouldn't this be happening less? Should I go get it checked out or save my wallet and ride it out?

>>76766779Are you suggesting that's what's in my water? I wouldn't be surprised, but I'm not sure what to do about it since it's purified already. I would never drink out of the tap.

>>76766776It's ok to just go see a damn doctor. Doesn't make you weak or anything. A scheduled visit will be a lot cheaper than an ER trip too.
>>76766850Can you be specific please? I don't know what any of this means. All google tells me is that this is bleach related.>>76766868I don't care about weakness, I'm just uninsured and don't want to break the bank over this if it turns out to be a non-issue. I didn't know about the ER thing though, thank you.
cool video anoncan't really help on the actual question sorry, just be aware that a ruptured appendix can be extremely dangerous in some cases (from what I have heard), but I don't want to scare you or anything so do look it up yourself etc., no clue how hereditary appendicitis isI think if you can at some point get it checked for a reasonable amount of money just for peace of mind it could be worth but I'm not entirely sure how that stuff works in America and if it's even possibleeither way wishing you a satisfactory resolution to the situation
>>76767207Thanks anon. Tomorrow I'm going to call and see if I can get some shit going.

>>76766776Could also be a kidney stone, they present pretty similarly, but an mri will be able to see if it's a kidney stone or appendicitis. No point risking it if it is your appendix is about to explode lol
>>76767403Okay man.>>76767454I'd prefer that, but I doubt that's it. None of the symptoms match. I'll keep an eye open on it though.
OP listen to me, what you described happened exactly to me word for word and I ignored it until one weekend it came on and didnt go away until my gf called an ambulance and I was rushed into surgery where they had to flush out my abdominal cavity with gallons of saline to wash away all the pus and bacteria from my now ruptured appendixThis was followed by several weeks of recovery including a drainage line below my belly button and total lack of mobility If you get it seen to before it blows up you will likely not deal with any of that
>>76767472Thank you. My plan was to call my state's Medicare line tomorrow and see if I'm enrolled, and do so if not. Then see my doctor right after, or immediately if it'll take too long. It flared up as I was typing this, maybe i'll just say fuck it and schedule an appointment either way.
>>76766776I had my appendix removed when I was 22 (20 years ago…fuck I’m old). Kinda similar situation where I would have an intense shooting pain in that lower right stomach area, but it would only happen occasionally if I made certain movements or twisted my torso just right. No other symptoms though. Finally after a week I went to the ER…they ran some tests and basically shrugged their shoulders and said they weren’t sure, come back tomorrow. I came back the next day and they basically did the same tests and asked me the same questions until I think one doc was must’ve just been like “fuck it, let’s take it out”They took it out laparoscopically and apparently it was inflamed and definitely needed to be removed. So yeah, you should probably go see a doctor. Also, please don’t drink bleach like this other retard is suggesting.
>>76767481Thanks. I haven't been to the doctor since high school, may as well. I'm really just a penny pincher...No idea what that other guy is on about. lol
>>76766776sounds like psycholological issue - u are cramping cause u're scared >cramping where? psoas, quadrarus lumborum, guts themselves, different layers of abdominal musculature - u're stressed out that's ll there is to it
>>76766779>>76766850>>76767403>>76767405>>76767407stop trying to get anons to kill themselves you asshole
>>76767864I'm definitely stressed out, there's a lot going on in my life right now that I can barely handle. This may as well be the cherry on top.I'm cramping exactly where the appendix is. It was a bit difficult getting to sleep last night because the discomfort was constant instead of lasting only a few minutes, and I woke up feeling actual pain in the area.
>>76766776I had appendicitis that required surgery when I was 8 and it was the most painful debilitating feeling I've ever experienced . Like someone was just repeatedly stabbing me in the gut with a knife. I didn't have any of the symptoms you stated of appendicitis in the days leading up, I just woke up one day with a pain so bad I couldn't even move from my bed
>>76768446I'm glad you got that over with. I haven't had any immobilizing pain. This whole thing has just been annoying at worst, honestly. But I'm at that age where I need to take my health more seriously
>>76766776I had appendicitis on Christmas this past year. The doctor told me I was lucky to survive. Have a gnarly scar. I've had a great year this year.
>>76768549What was it like leading up to it? Glad to know you're doing better, it gives me hope.
>>76768738Intense stomach pain, I thought I had a stomach flu but it persisted. After a week I went to the ER. I had got in at just the right time. 4 days in the hospital.I was working out at full strength again 2 months later.
>>76768842Interesting. My symptoms are still mild, but I guess that gives me enough time in case an appointment is a longer way off. I have been in slight pain all day though. I just got off the phone with my state health department, I'm finally enrolled in medicaid. Now whatever happens will only cost an arm, instead of that and a leg.
I just made an appointment, they don't have any openings until February. Hopefully my colon won't explode before then. I'm also really dumb and just now realized that maybe it's flaring up because I've been doing some heavy lifting at work lately that I'm not used to. I guess I will just have to ride this out.
