As far as the gym goals, I am faced with a couple different goals. Unfortunately, I think the goals directly impact each other and I probably can't / should not try to do both?

>Goal 1 315 bench
I want to get 315lbs on the bench press. Right now my 1 rep max is 275 which I don't feel is impressive because I weigh 235lbs. I also have trouble still with doing 225lbs for even 5 reps. I just suck at doing heavier weights for good reps it seems. Its funny because for a very long time I wanted to get 225 pounds for a bench press max. Got it. and now I would like 315lbs.

>Goal 2 - Lose weight
I have always felt that I am not very strong for my weight. I weigh 235lbs and I am 6 feet tall. So I guess its not super horrid. However, I think being 200lbs would better suit me perhaps.

Here is where it gets dicey. You logically can't pursue a 315 pound bench press if you are also trying to lose weight right? Because logically, you have to eat more to increase your strength? You have to eat less to lose weight which means your strength will go down. So in your opinion, which goal should I try and push for? A friend told me I should just try and get the 315 pound bench but I feel like the 275-315lbs bench range is a nasty plateau. One that you basically have to full dedicate to bench pressing to get it. What do you think? 315lbs bench or lose weight?

You could cut down a little, like lose 15lb, then bulk to get to 315, then cut down to where you want to be.

Your weight will affect a lot more in your life than a bench number 99.9% of the time.

>Add weight
>maintain
>lift
that’s it

You are too deep into obesity, it should be your number 1 priority to lose weight, and not 200lbs fatass, 180 minimum.

Why 180? Being 6 feet tall and 180 is basically skellington tier.

Honestly I’d give yourself half a year-year to pursue a 315 bench and then cut hard

Hmm.. do you think the 275lb to 315lb is a nasty plateau or is it about as tough as any other plateau? I can't do 275lbs consistently either. I have to do it when I am super fresh at the beginning of a month. I have found that if I take like a week off from the gym and then come back, I can hit 275.

Because you are obese and seem unaware of it, you wouldn't hit 180lbs either way and it's not skeleton tier, lol, unless you are enhanced which you should have clarified.
