absolute newfag here.

Felt a pinprick in my eye while lifting, and now my eye floaters are really noticeable. I assume I burst a tiny blood vessel or something. The eye floaters are fading, but I'm kinda worried to try lifting again without learning a bit more about this shit.

How common is this shit? Are there any special things I should be doing to greatly lower my chances of it happening again?

IIRC before I started lifting on that day, I felt badly out of energy and was saving lunch until after the exercise. Could that be a contributing factor?

if it's genetic, then I'm fucked. I really can't afford to lose this from my life. It keeps me out of depression

If you see the eyefloaters as some anons mentioned, you should see a doc. BUT I used to get red eyes with noticeable veins when I started lifting, SPECIALLY during deadlift/squat days. I stopped having them when I learned to breathe properly and to do proper mansalva. It might get inevitable to some anons and to some strength levels but unless you are actually earning money from it, you can forgo certain "pressure heavy" lifts and train your muscles some other way.
