Do soldiers naturally become muscular in the military because of the work or because they're using free time to lift weights?

It's actually a myth that soldiers are all jacked, anyone who's been in the army will tell you there's not a single guy built like Schwarzenegger or Stallone

Unironically, Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump is the most realistic soldier physique in movies, that's what most of the guys actually look like. Fit, some muscle, but not absolutely jacked and not shredded. Most of them would actually get called dyel if they posted physique on the internet

I'm not certain that combine soldier is natural, and most of the military is dyel/overweight, outside SF. They're strong for rucking, not in Mr. Olympia competition shape.

Side hobby. Army is all running.
>>
>>76784437
Yeah lean is where its at
>>

>waking up at 2 am to do patrols for 3 hours will totally help in budling muscle
>>
Soldiers in peacetime get jacked because there's nothing else to do in your spare time on base other than probably lift weights.

I don't know man. Most of the time I see some video from the army there's always a bunch of big dudes. Not roided big, just a lot of lean muscle kind of big. You can tell they eat like crazy.

I served in both Canada and the USA. Almost all Canadian soldiers were muscular, even females. In the American military, virtually no one was muscular.

video from the army? that's propaganda man, course it's not gonna be the fatties and skellies up front
>>
>>76784426
the main thing is food. if they're eating a surplus of protein and carbs then they'll put on muscle in those conditions
>>
>>76784426
The more muscular a member of the armed forces is, the less he's generally doing. SF guys are usually 170lbs skinnyfats. Guys that sit around in bases or on ships have time to get jacked

Not enough calories, not enough protein, the soldiers, when I was deployed, were semi muscular, their legs were more developed tho.
I did lose muscle mass while in the army.

They lift weights. Most soldiers, even combat MOSs aren't jacked. It's all about endurance, really
>>
>>76784426
That’s an insecure roid tranny. Real men don’t use steroids.
>>
>>76784426
Looking back at my deployment pictures we were all emaciated pretty much. Could hump 100lbs of shit all day though. Honestly that Lt. Dan pic is more muscular than most of us.
>>

Depends on the unit. Airborne infantry and special mission units tend to add muscle and stay lean due to their focus on fitness and how it's tied into their mission. Supporting arms and logistics fags don't train hard, and they'll only get jacked if they do it themselves in the gym.
>>
I entered the air force Auschwitz tier. Long long tech school. Linguist. We did garbage workouts, and I added an okay amount of mass. Probably a lot of muscle memory since id used to lift prior. Obviously nothing compared to actually working out but it was better than nothing and at least I wasn't Auschwitz tier, just DYEL.

Anyway, yes, most military folk aren't jacked. They're usually not very overweight like the general public though, since they have to at least keep up with run standards. But you'll also encounter a more jacked people compared to the general population since the group of people who'd choose to join would just be more interested in sports or lifting.

9/10 guys from my group were regularly going to the gym, half of those were on steroids
>>

I always hear 90% don't see combat and those who do are usually lean and focus on endurance.
