What was his fucking problem?
>>
>>76784593
he didnt like to workout.
>>
>>76784593
mental illness, possibly narcissistic, stimulant addiction, long term health effects of steroids
>>
>>76784593
He realized that men have better things to do than lifting weights, but still have to look good.
>>
>>76784593
He made 90% of his gains and built his bodybuilding career on high volume. And then snakeoiled HIIT bullshit to clueless imbeciles like a piece of shit he was, of course pretending that he's an expert.

Don't do what he does, it's not nearly enough for any gains. You're better of doing something like Dorian Yates did.
>>
>>76784593
Carbs heavy diet rotting his mind alongside the meth but still more knowledgeable than most bodybuilders nowadays
>>
>>76784613
>100-200g of carbs is a heavy-carb diet
Then people ask why bodybuilders die young.
>b-but roids
No, it's being an unhealthy piece of shit like Vegans.
>>
The 1 set shit was obviously retarded but he wasn't totally wrong on the fact that volume (like so many thing) has diminishing return after a certain point
Doing much more than 10 sets per week isn't really efficient if you absolutely don't want to maximize everything
In fact it doesn't really matter, let's say that high volume (15-20 sets per week) is objectively the best thing in the world for growth
At this point we know that 20 sets isn't infinitely superior to 10

So, do you want to invest potentially twice more time in the gym for just some more percent of the gain? While knowing that you'll in any case reach your natty limit but (perhaps) a bit slower?

60% carbs is very heavy and this meme is why all bodybuilders now look like bloated balloons besides their shitty training and it only worked for him due to his non-roid drug usage and the better access to clean non processed foods back then
You dont need more than 40% carbs
>>
>>76784593
I used to go above 250g of Carbs a day and noticed that I get constantly bloated and hold a lot of water. I was only 200-300kcal above maintenance, this mf recommended up to 400g of carbs, no thanks.

>eat 60% carbs
>400 grams of cabs
>do one set per week
he was laughing his ass off when he pushed this shit wasn't he

Arnold, unironically. Then he had a hissy fit atheist spergout and decided to retire when he’d probably have won the next year if he just shut up about it
>>
>>76784748
What's worse, people actually bought it. Humans are naturally lazy, so his bullshit gained a lot of followers.

Being a too decent man in the rotten world, especially 1980s.
>>76784748
You will be astonished by how much protein turns into glucose really. Hardcore optimizers with all kinds of gear (yeah, including Dorian.) can benefit from the extremely high-protein diet.

I don't see any reason high volume is necessary.
I basically do 1 set of 2 exercises, 3 days a week
So like:
Mon
Press 1-2 sets of 1-5 reps
Squat 1 set 1-5 reps

Wed
Bench 1-2 sets 1-5 reps
Deadlift 1 set 1-5 reps

Fri
Press 1-2 sets 1-5 reps
Squat 1 set 1-5 reps

And that has worked fine. I don't look that great or anything but I've built up a lot of strength and muscle doing it. I don't see any real reason why more would be necessary.

What's the fucking point? You're just wasting time anyway.

A single, continuous set taken to momentary muscular failure inroads more efficiently and deeply, resulting in a higher intensity of effort and far greater time efficiency than multiple short, disjointed sets of the same exercise.
With Multiple sets, you are retracing the same motor unit recruitment sequence, not providing any additional stimulus for growth; instead, you're only increasing the exercise volume and the demands on your body's limited resources for recovery and adaptation.

Mine is
>1-2 warm up sets
>1 working set per every workout
>3 times a week
>8-12 reps to failure (legs often more)

Leg day
Leg extension
Wide squats
Narrow squats
SLDL (focus on leg posterior)

Pull day
Weighted chin-ups
Barbell rows
Cable rows
SLDL (focus on back)

Push day
Incline BP
Normal BP
Decline BP
Weighted dips

Don't care biceps or triceps. Before this I had done so-called "German volume training" 10 reps 10 sets per bodypart, above 2 times per week. My body always hurt, never fully recovered, looked like shit. No lifer because of gym time. With the grace of HIT my progression is visible EVEN when I'm cutting-to-maintaining. I've never reached 15% BF (currently 20%, still looks good desu) in my life and I'm so excited what will happen after I reach 15% and dedicate myself into clean bulking with HIT. Thanks to Mentzer and Dorian, the genuine people who are free from BS.
