I heard that apparently some people do their exercise while eyes are closed. What are the benefit?
>>76784749enhanced senses, turns you into matt murdock
>>76784760I never did it before but Im interested in trying it next time I do a set of push ups.
>>76784749>eyeballs not exploding during heavy deadlifts
So what's the truth about calisthenics? Can you actually get moderate muscle? I'd like to graduate from twink mode to muscular twink mode but don't have the money for a home gym and i'm too autistic for the gym
>>76784825You can build muscle however it is not going to be quick as weightlifting. But the benefits are increase in muscle density, endurance and flexibility.
>>76784959Thats your opinion. What did our ancestors do before they had weights?
>>76784982>Carrying food>Heavy leather clothing>Excess materials, as much as you can carry.>Weapons, armor if any.yeah, no weight, cavemen had teleporters and shit and never had to perform any high volume progressively overloaded stuff that improved their chance of survival, they just climbed trees and beat mammoths down with their bare feet I guess
>>76784749Having your eyes closed makes balancing much more difficultTry standing on one feet with your eyes closed
>>76784988I did not know that. Thank you fellow retard.
>>76784999It all went to shit when some genius invented a trebuchet and then we got weaker and dumber and started worshipping kike on a stick.
>>76785003What would be a better religion?
>>76785032One that comes from within and not from middle east. That would be a good start.
>>76785040buddhism?
anyway. What are the effects of calisthenics while your eyes are closed?
>>76784825https://www.youtube.com/@jackhwoods/videosthis guy's strategy is to find the hardest progression he can barely cheat his way through the full range of motion of, and then do that at maximum intensity for 40 total minutes a week. Seems to be working for him and he's selling $2000 courses guiding others through it. His sales pitch that he links to is free, and amounts to "what if 100% of your time spent was only on last reps?">>76784959you'd never do this only-last-rep strategy with weights though. The big advantage of cheating a calisthenics move is that you can dynamically alter your cheating to keep the rep as hard as possible on the intended muscles throughout full ROM. You can't dynamically change the mass of a weight so you have to approach weights completely differently. Do 10 reps of your 15RM and of course you don't immediately injure yourself. Approach calisthenics like that and of course the moves are either too easy or too hard.
>>76784825>Can you actually get moderate muscle?Yeah, I graduated from twink mode to moderate muscle but it took me literal years. I did sprinkle in some gym time over the years too, but most of my exercise was calisthenics.
>>76784825>from twink mode to muscular twink modeAbsolutely doable, provided discipline (never quit), nutrition (1.4 g/kg bw/d), sleep and progressive overload (always add reps, reboot every 4-8 weeks). In less than 6 months people will tell.
>>76784825Yes, you can. Progressive overload. Consistency. That is it. Make sure you sleep well and eat well. Rings are by far the most versatile. It is true some movements that seem basic require a beyond basic level of strength, so you want to start with other movements in order to progress and to protect yourself from injury. For ex, ring dips are hard, bar dips are easier, ring push ups are easier, regular push ups are even easier, wall push ups are even easier.>>76784840This is immensely retarded because you can actually put the same load to your muscles through calisthenics or weights. What exactly makes it slower if you show up 6 days a week for both? Are weights magic and suddenly your muscles grow more from the same load?Is it less complete and well rounded? You may have certain imbalances like traps, possibly shoulders and obviously legs. But there's NO reason to even suggest the speed of muscle growth would be different.
>>76784749you don't see your bad form so you can pretend you have perfect form
>>76784825> From twink mode to muscular twink modePerfectly doable with calisthenics but don't get lost in the sauce and forget about your legs, glutes and lower back. Unfortunately the lower body work provided by calisthenics pales in comparison to their upper counterpart. I'd recommend machine and free weight work for your lower body as well as some HIIT conditioning for cardio
