That was the point I dropped Starting Strength completely. Now I stick to more progressive, science-based programs like BBM and Greg Nuckols. Actual progress, less boomer rage xenophobia bigotry.
Starting Strength is for newcomers. Build your strength following the program for your first 4-9 months, then segue to other more precise traing methodologies. Its for beginners.Also, not everyone is going to look aestehtic, especially if theyre a little chubby. But SS is not a bodybuilding or aestehtics routine. Its an introduction to barbell traing program. Youre not supposed to look like a stage ready bodybuilder at the end of your SS novice linear progression. If at the end you look like shit, get your diet in order and start doing other exercises/movemeent patterns. The SS program is just supposed to get you decently strong in the major lifts. Thats literally all it is.
