I am quitting booze cold turkey. I drink usually a 750 ML bottle of hard liquor a week, sometimes more. I used to drink more years back, but I have at least slowed it down a little, but I don't think I have gone more than a week in at least 6 years without being drunk once. Am I at risk for any serious withdrawal symptoms like seizures or anything?

I don't think so
>>
You'll be fine I was drinking way more and never had physical withdrawals.
>>
Swap out youre alcopops for some caffeinated beverages instead, start by drinking the caffeine and alcohol mix type drinks and slowly cut out the alcohol

You're not at seizure levels, there's people out there doing full bottles every day. How much do you drink daily? If you only do it once per week, you'd experience the worst of the withdrawals by days 4-6.

Look up baclofen, I use it any time I go on phenibut benders. It's a GABA agonist like alcohol, but the tolerance curve is 1/10th as bad, so you just drop the dose every week until you get down to 0.

I do not recommend cold turkying GABA drugs like alcohol or any of them for that matter, as the runaway glutamate in your brain is neurotoxic. Tapering is key (which is why baclofen is amazing). Or simply measure your alcohol and taper down the volume slowly every week. Tapering is plainly both less painful and actually healthier

What country are you from? I am utterly baffled that this could be considered a drinking problem. I pat myself on the back for 3 alcohol free days a week. Probably half the world would call you a light drinker.
>>
Not even close. I used to drink like a litre a day and I managed to wean off it without detox or rehab.

I would consider your use more of a behavioural addiction than a real alcoholic problem.

Youd know if you were at risk of having seizures because youd be shaking so bad you can barely put a glass of water to your mouth without spilling it all

Alcohol withdrawals are more of a concern if you are never sober.

If you regularly go 1-3 days a week without drinking yo uare withdrawing off the booze every week and not having seizures.

The seizures happen when you go to bed drunk, wake up slightly withdrawing and drink vodka to stabilise. You aint doing that. Withdrawals dont happen like 5 days after quitting, it happens within the first hours of your BAC dropping
