How do you guys maintain it.

Im a huge gamer but I would like to get fit but like every time I start it just bores me and I never really stick to it. Dieting isnt so bad but the act of maintaining a rotation of a schedule just puts me to sleep which is where my burnout originates from because im always thinking

>If I have the time to do this I could be trying out a new video game instead

you need to hate yourself enough to have a good body
you need to hate yourself enough to sustain it
>>
>>76790700
That kind of attitude means you’re ngmi. You have to really WANT something to have it and discipline matters WAY more than motivation.

Discipline means you automatically do it without thinking. It’s like a second nature. If you have to make up some grand motivation scheme to do anything, you’re already ngmi

motivation is for faggots. really understand that and let it sink in. What you need is discipline. Just treat yourself like a kid who has chores that they don't want to do. I started doing this in my late 20's and fully turned my life around. I would have a feeling like "meh I'm not really feeling like lifting today", and I would just tell myself "too bad you have to go to the gym if you want to watch TV or relax". Just be super strict with yourself and add on slowly. Start with just going to the gym on Monday Wednesday Friday; and go no matter what. If you're sick, tired, it's your mom's birthday just get your faggot ass into the gym. From there add on things like getting a quality workout, eating etc. That's all just discipline. Motivation is for lifting hard. As for eating just start tracking your calories with an easy to use app. If you want to gain weight add on like 500 cals from your normal, if you want to lose weight take off 500. Easy.

train the habit: find a minimalist program with few exercises and a low time investment, and do only that. As you get results, and enjoy the exercises, and enjoy getting better at the exercises, you'll naturally find yourself in the position of needing to to cut back on the amount of exercise you want to do.
if even getting your arse to the gym is a big barrier, calisthenics and kettlebells can be done right next to your gaming rig. Calisthenics you can do at super high intensity for very little time per week by picking harder versions of movements and narrowly cheating yourself through them. Kettlebells will take a lot more skill to get going with so they're satisfying and stop hurting you, but depending on your personality that challenge might be attractive to you.

if you can get to the gym, just do two sets of two barbell lifts and go home. 2 sets of 5 deadlift and OHP is Power to the People (5 days a week, add weight every session, do the second set at 80% weight), and these are easy to learn and very satisfying and take very little time.
again you don't have to marry yourself to these ideas and do only this forever. Just do a D-Day on yourself, get a beachhead for your invasion of fitness into your gaming addiction.
Obviously if you start with 15 hours per workout and 15 sets of 15 reps on 15 machines, you're going to right back to a gacha.

A friend of mine was a huge giga nerd twig and lanky as fuck. That nibba had a shit computer and he started curling dumbells on loading screens. He went step by step getting into autistic fitness because he was a huge medieval fights games and shonen anime fan. He didnt even aim to look aesthetic, he just larped his way into being a strong viking warrior. Dude is a mass monster nowadays, no roids, not even supplements, just shoveling food into his mouth, training, gaming and anime.
Protips
>You gotta realise that fitness is like a videogame, you unlock abilities and advantages as you progress
>first month or two is hell
>once you make your first progress, you get gigamotivated and you keep pushing forward
>once youve made somewhat decent progress, you realise that motivation is normie bullshit and you actually enjoy fitness
>go full gorilla mode about fitness the same way you go about your shit videogames, read about it, listen about it, shitpost about it, learn about it, optimise your shit, try new shit, stop doing shit you shouldnt do
>you will end up not wanting to stop
Unironically, level up irl and just bee urself. Stop reading /r9k/ demoralisation threads

I like the amount of creativity you can have with theming your workout. There is nothing stopping you from slicking back your hair and making a vergil based routine

>depressed, don't want anything
>you should work out, that'll fix it!
>umotivated, struggling to maintain routine
>you have to really want it, it doesn't work if you don't already care!
this is pointless. advice from normies or people who made it is always meaningless and circular. tell me where all the losers hang out so i can ask the people who actually have struggled with these issues for help

I go to a gym with a bunch of hot zoomettes in slutty little outfits. Just to be around them is enough motivation to show up and push myself every day, highly recommend

you don't mainain motivation.
you use motivation to activate discipline.
and use discipline to keep doing shit.
motivation fades when things are hard. discipline does not.

It’s all about discipline man. It’s not talking yourself into it, it’s talking yourself out of it. There’s been a lot of times I had to talk myself out of it because it was storming so badly out that my truck would’ve gotten stuck on the way to the gym. If you can’t maintain a week of going, work on your discipline first

I never feel like that at all. I see progress and then just lose interest.

I'm a fellow depressed retard and the only two things that worked for me is.
1. Have the goal at the forefront of your mind always. For me jt's submissive gay sex and aesthstics but it can be anything. You also can't ever doubt that achieving it is a possibility.
2. Just force yourself. This requires you to sit down ahead of the schedule and dot down how much of what you're going, then you just painstainkingly go through the checklist. You havw freedom of will and at any moment you can decide anything.
>>
>>76790700

Motivation is a feeling, an emotion, and is therefore transient and shit at actually getting things done because other emotions can override it.

Discipline isn't an emotion, at least, it shouldn't be. Many think that discipline is mentally beating up yourself into doing a thing you don't want to do. This isn't good because it's mentally exhausting. What discipline should be is just the pattern of actions you decided to DO.

1: Motivation . "I want to accomplish this thing"
2: Resistance. "This intermediate thing is unpleasant and I don't wanna"
3: Discipline "I accept that I don't wanna, but I'm doing it anyway"

Making yourself want to do a thing you don't is nearly impossible. However, momentarily ignoring the unpleasantness of something isn't too taxing. So just don't think about the bad bits, and do it anyway.

You'll only work hard if there's something you want. Figure out what you really want then take the steps.

If you're like me then you need to learn to do the bare minimum. If you only feel like working out for 5 minutes, then only work out for 5 minutes. I also have weights in my room so I don't need to do some gay 15 minute commute to the gym. Sometimes I get a huge burst of motivation and do more, but I focus on always doing the bare minimum at least.

I play all my vidya on a treadmill these days. One of the cheap ones (do spring for the extended warranty) and a standing desk. I'm mostly a pc gamer, but I also have an adapter and some hdmi switches so I can hook up the Switch.

Even a fatty fat fat can shamble along at 1.5mph and still play a game.
