This started in late 2023, 1 week into my first bulk. I have a lot of bowel problems since, lots of constipation, rarely diarrhea, tried about everything, probiotics, different diets, no lactose for long period, no gluten, no beans, lots of fiber, lot of water, psyllium, less stress, better sleep, glutamine, lots of exercise, artichoke + zingiber.

Colonoscopy, endoscopy, blood tests and ab ultrasound all fine.

My doctor never seen a case like mine, I did a breath test after 12 hours fast + only eggs and toast the day before (like recommended by the diet the doc gave me), and my test started with 33 ppm H2. The thing is, after the drinking lactulose it only increased to 40ppm in 90 mins.

She told me SIBO usually goes up 20 ppm before 90 mins, but usually people start with their baseline H2 level at 0-5ppm, unlike mine.

My breath test was not conclusive for SIBO, but she gave me 2 weeks of metronidazole + low food map diet, it did get a little better but not 100%, and lately it got worse again.

Lately I've been trying low fiber, bc I would have a lot of stomach discomfort in my normal diet, now I'm only eating cheese, bread, potatoes, eggs and rice. Still getting some constipation from time to time, sometimes diarrhea, some stomach discomfort, and my poo is very weird (sometimes with undigested food when I'm on a lot of fiber, sometimes yellow, sometimes very dark, usually mixed between the two extremes).

>you should eat meat

I got blessed with Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder as baby like it was a bonus to come with my autism, and meat is the first thing I reject it, I would literally vomit upon eating it, and it took 18 years for me to have a balanced diet without meat. So, meat is still something i'm not very fond of.
>>

Thanks for the motivation anon, it's in my plans to start meat eventually, but the process to eat a new food is so energy consuming, and it takes a lot of time, I would like some short term solution to fix my gut and when I'm fine I would start this change. Also my mind is in the gutter right now, I only have energy to work, little walks and then I'm in bed all day wishing to die with my stomach hurting.

The process that works for me to add new food involves imaging everyday I'm buying that food, and cooking it and then putting in my mouth, and then eating it. Only when this is normalized in my head I buy that thing, then cook and then I have to go through a bunch of ways or prepping to reach something that doesn't make me instant puke. It takes a lot of time and energy, and I must be 100% in my head.

This is what happens when you follow advice on /Fitness
>>
>>76792700
Also, I had a very balanced vegetarian diet before that worked well for me for 8 years, the problems only started after I tried eating a lot for a bulk.

In 2018 my digestion stopped for 1 week after I ate too much pasta, after laxatives I was fine. So, I think it has to do with eating a lot more than I can take.

The "cheese, bread, potatoes, eggs and rice" is just what my diet has come to once I'm eliminating everything that has a possibility of making me worse.
>>
>>76792652
seems like you have IMO, not SIBO. Take a breath test for methan. Its easily fixable by the right diet. look up into dr william davis
>>
>>76792724
Methane was at 1-3ppm during the test.
>>
>>76792738
if that means its not IMO then you are fucked but you should look up into Dr Willam Davis stuff anyway, it was life changing for me and everybody can benefit from it
>>
>>76792743
Yeah, I know, I already come to peace with the idea I may be dying, or having something serious that is just undetected. At this point I rather know already then be in the dark.

I'm watching right now anon, thanks for the tip.

>>76792743
not OP but I probably have Candida and that shit ruined my life for the last 3 years, even got a brain injury from it. Fml, why are doctors so retarded. I even had a visible throat infection before my brain injury and they were still stumped

Naturopath suggested Candida within an hour of meeting them and everything fucking FITS. I think I suffered for nothing for the past 3 years but at least I will know soon.

Anyone dealing with this, go to as legit a naturopath or functional dr as possible
>>
unironically, parasite cleanse OP.
>>
>>76792843
Did this 2 times, I forgot to mention. Every test for this and stool tests in general also came negative.
>>
>>76792843
What’s your experience anon? I’ve tried several different cleanses but still feel infected, I have some turpentine arriving in the mail soon as it’s allegedly the one true nuke for parasites.
>>
>>76792652
If you're not sub IQ then check out microbiomeprescription.com. You basically upload your gut test to this guys site and get algorithmic recommendations of what to do to change it (diet, probiotics, antibiotics, etc.). The dude himself is autistic so he has specific recommendations for people with autism. He has a separate blog site about that.

>>you should eat meat
>Vegan is confused about how to "fix" his gut.
Nothing is wrong with your gut.
Stop eating indigestible plant matter.
What you should eat instead:
Raw meat
Raw fruit
Raw honey
Maybe raw dairy
etc

>meat is the first thing I reject it, I would literally vomit upon eating it,

You're fucked lol.
>>
>>76793220
I know dude, I would literally only eat rice, beans and potatoes for the first 18 years of my life, but since then I improved a lot, although is very slow progress.
>>
>>76793238
Eat meat you fucking retard. That or five up, natural selection has clearly been selected for you to lose
>>
>>76793238
Literally stop eating for 7 days until you are starving and then feast on raw beef, thank me later.
>>
>>76793252
>>76793249
Like I said, not matter how starved I am, if I eat meat I just vomit, this would happen with every food outside what I used to eat, but doing this process >>76792700 helped me add new stuff without putting it out immediately. Meat is a bit harder as it was the first food I ever rejected, but I think it's doable in the long run.

Anyway, I'm trying to find a better solution.
>>
>>76793272
So (sorry, not trying to be rude) this is a mental illness thing then, not a gut thing?
>>
>>76792706
Im 100% certain the bad advice here is better than the same people giving good advice on reddit.
>>
>>76793276
Not rude anon, I talked a lot about this with different people during my life.

Both, I was probably tortured in some way with food as a baby (had a lot of people taking care of me bc my parents were at work) and that made me a bit fucked in the head. One day my mom told me I just started to reject meat (I don't even have memory of this, was probably 2-3 yo), no matter how much they insisted and tried to force me to eat, I would just vomit. Docs said I would just get over it once I got old, and I always had perfect health outside this. I literally only ate black beans, rice, potatoes in big meals. Bread with cheese in small ones (forgot to add this in a previous post).

And this kept going until I was 13-15, when I started to take matter into my own hands and search about this (nobody had any idea what it was in my country), but just at 18 I found a good method to add new food without vomiting in some communities about this condition. Since then I got a very good vegetarian diet (always been very health and fit). But I will never be a normal person, that could for example eat at a new restaurant all of a sudden, or just take a trip and eat away. I cook all my meals since 18 and this has been one of the secrets of the method to add new food.

But during that bulk in late 2023 things started go south, and I think this digestion problem started.
>>
>>76793308
>>76793276
And the rejection goes beyond every try to trick me into eating, my parents would disguise meat in everything and I would always know I was eating meat, and things would go wrong, overall I think my senses are a bit sensitive when it comes to feel the taste of the food.
>>
>>76793308
Okey I get it more or less now. I have no idea how to help you brother but then let me ask, if you do vegetarian rn you eat eggs and dairy at least right? Maybe you could experiment with fish too. I say this because I suspect that maybe trialing an "animal based" kind of diet (but with eggs and/or dairy and/or fish) could fix your gut problems. So that's about 60 to 80% animal foods and then for the rest (40 to 20%) you could do fruits which are readily digestible. Honey is good too.
>>
>>76793341
Yeah, when I started going hard on the gym in 2019 and putting up muscle I started going heavy on eggs and dairy. But the latter started to make my digestion worse after I got this problem in late 2023, so I decreased lactose overall.

When I did the antibiotics I ate rice, potatoes, carrots and eggs for 2 weeks. But yeah, I think I could try doing only eggs/dairy for like 1 week and see how I feel. Thanks a lot for the tip!
>>
>>76793353
Cheese (that is low lactose)
Eggs
Any fruit
Also interesting coconut and avocado bc they are fatty and without meat it's harder to get the fat in
And then some plant foods are usually better tolerated than others, like pumpkins and cucumbers and the like are good, better than grains like rice imo
Honey
>>
>>76793375
I'll do it, thanks friendo, may God bless you and your family.
>>
>>76792652
you gotta stop smoking weed dude.
>>
>>76792652
I fixed my IBS (caused by SSRI) by doing nocarbs for a few weeks.
It gave time for my gut bacteria to stabilize.
>>
>>76794162
>nocarbs for a few weeks
I might need to try this. So pretty much keto?
>>
What's the "highest tier" of doctors that you've seen? Have you gone to a specialty place like the doctors at Cleveland Clinic or Mayo Clinic? Sometimes when you defeat the miniboss (local GI doctors or whatever) it means you need to fight the big boss at one of these places - they see all sorts of crazy stuff and may have good ideas for you.

Have you seen a motility specialist? They help people with IBS-D manage their symptoms with pharma or supplements. Obviously you've tried a lot of things on your own already but 'you don't know what you don't know' about other options out there.

Surprised no one's put you on rifaximin, it says you got some benefit from metronidazole but eventually the symptoms came back, which is common in SIBO.

I hate to be the millionth person to say this but your solution probably looks something like meat + fruit + low amounts of dairy for a few weeks until your gut bounces back, sorry.

Don't lose hope, one day you'll crack the code and be so fortunate to have decades left of your life to live with this nightmare behind you.

carrot salad and ethanol in the morning
subside off milk and oj for a few weeks. absolutely no fiber besides raw carrots. liver and oysters are ok
>>

Psylum husk every morning 3.5 gr fixed me.
Buy a brand that has expiration date.

Whole milk and raw walnuts should fix you up OP. If it doesn't they're both still delicious.
>>
Sorry I don't have any advice but I recently had some random gut issues as well.
>never had problems before
>suddenly waking up feeling like shit and vomiting bile every morning
>can barely eat, lose a bunch of weight
>start taking pantoprazole under doc's advice
>helps a lot but worried once I stop taking it it'll just come straight back
No idea what's causing this shit, doesn't seem to be an ulcer
>>

GERD
be warned anon you need to make some changes, it can fuckup your life if you don't deal with it now. GERD is linked to stress and diet.
>do not eat 4 hours before bed
>do not eat acidic heavy meals for dinner, bye bye red sauce pasta
>start meditating when you wakeup and before you go to bed
>walk after meals
>change your diet to be healthy as possible, look up foods that are acidic or high in sugar and avoid them
GERD will fuck you up. it can alter your throat cells, changing them to cells similar to stomach lining which increases chances of throat cancer. you can get Barrets esophagus where your throat will no longer close off to your stomach. will destroy your teeth.
pantoprazole is fine when you need it, but continuous long term use is not recommended.
stop smoking weed.
>>
>>76792652
autists generally do better without dairy
also look into zinc-carnosin to fix your stomach since u obviously arent digesting your food right
its a shot in the dark because it could be hundreds of different things causing indigestion
for example your vagus nerve might be degenerated from head trauma or bad posture, which disrupts your stomach acid production and hormone production (serotonine etc)
or it might be environmental
u literally need some Dr House super sperg doctor to figure out what ur underlying issue is
>>
>>76792652

Try removing all seed oils and removing virtually all fiber.

Fiber is not an essential nutrient. Seed oils will oxidize and destroy your mitochondria.
>>
>meat is the first thing I reject
Well then have fun with your fucked up gut!
>>
>>76795492
>>do not eat acidic heavy meals for dinner
Kek that's funny to read because I literally cured my GERD and silent reflux by drinking apple cider vinegar and/or lemon juice after dinner (you know the kind of acidic stuff you are suppossed NOT to take). I feel like a retard for taking PPIs for so long just because a doctor told me to.

Not the Anon you were talking to, and I'm not dismissing your experience, but sadly ACV didn't help me. I drink a pretty large amount of it, too. I've never tried taking it *after* a meal, though. How much do you drink?

I've talked to my doc and they thought it could be GERD, which is a bit spooky. I'm kind of hoping it's not the case because I've literally never had anything like this before until now (aged 28). I don't smoke but will look into the other advice.
