Standards for bodybuilding shows required competitors to be leaner as the years went on. Nobody, not even modern bodybuilding enthusiasts, argue that being that shredded looks good but they just do it anyway. This standard gets pushed onto natty competitors who cannot maintain their muscle mass at that bf% without roids, so they look like shit then they become the laughing stock of the bodybuilding world. Look to the 30s and 40s, nobody competed below 12% bf and they looked significantly better for it, better than modern roiders imo.
