It's called a biphasic sleep schedule.
Sleep, do an activity during "the watch," and then sleep again.
>>
>>76797828
Watch youtube for a few hours then go back to sleep again for 3 hours.

have 5mg diazepam. don't abuse them like a nigger, diazepam should be in everyone's medicine cabinet for exactly the problem you're having.
>>
I fall asleep fast but constantly wake up during the night. im talking 5 times minimum but sometimes it feels like im waking up every 45 mins.

>Need sleep for recovery
>B-b-but I can't sleep
Well evidently you haven't done anything significant to require recovery.

I have never had this issue
I sleep too long

Only being able to get 1 REM cycle is a symptom of narcolepsy. Despite what the tv box made you think, narcolepsy isn't sleeping all the time. It's the inability to get REM sleep.

If you have symptoms similar to ADHD, that's another possible sign. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it except take stims. ADHD meds are addictive and tolerance builds fast.

However, modafinil can be helpful for some people and is much less dangerous to take long term. Stimulants produce and block the dopamine receptor "exit valve". Modafinil does not produce dopamine, it only blocks the dopamine receptor exit so you get more value from your naturally produced dopamine.

Shit man, I struggled with insomnia for years and tried absolutely everything.
High dose hypnotics (ambien, lunesta), mood stabilizers (that gave me manic fucking episodes, thanks/be careful with those), seroquil, antihistamines that were supposed to make you drowsy, of course melatonin in the early days, fucking everything.
Biking 50 miles per day didn’t make me tired, it was like my body was exhausted, but my brain just wouldn’t quit.
Wrecked a car after going 72+ hours without sleep after my cat shit on my only set of sheets and I had to go to a laundromat.
Came to getting hit by an airbag, smoke everywhere, and cop lights illuminating my hazy cab.
I explained things to the cop and the dick said “I’d been following you for half a mile, you were all over the place. I thought you were drunk and I just wanted to see what was gonna happen.”
Fuck that guy.
Eventually I just became a full blown alcoholic that would drink myself into passing out and then back into functionality, rinse and repeat for a decade.
I don’t think I got actual sleep for that entire time, I was fucked- and so was my body.
Eventually I quit drinking (after a few seizures and a DUI), and just kinda embraced the insomnia because I was biking everywhere and couldn’t wreck a car.
Edibles did help, but since I have to take 250mg minimum for it to put me to sleep, I’ve absolutely GOT to take it 12 hours before I need to be vertical, and even then it makes wrenching myself out of bed hard as fuck.
After ALL THAT SHIT:
Turned out I had really, really bad ADHD that went unnoticed because I did expeditionary well in school, and adderall actually helps me sleep.
XR helps me stay asleep.
Might not be for you, but whatever you do, don’t start drinking yourself to sleep.
It’ll ruin your fucking life, most likely.
>>

For the record it was 9am when that dick cop told me he just watched me total a car for his own entertainment.
Thankfully I only hit a drainage dugout (or whatever, that thing where Pennywise hangs out), hard as fuck.
I had my laundry buckled in the passenger seat though, and both of my airbags went off which were worth more than the car itself.
I actually ended up getting a couple hundred dollars more than I paid for it in the first place from my insurance, which was a blessing at 18.
Seriously though, fuck that cop.

Highly addictive personalities, and have the inverse relationship with caffeine is also a symptom. People who are either immune or can take 1g+ of caffeine and it not really effect them, usually either have ADHD or narcolepsy.
>>
>>76797973
Oh, cool.
Someone else recommended getting yourself checked for ADHD.
I’m honestly jealous of the people that get high off the stuff, it does literally nothing to me other than make it a little bit easier to focus on one thing, and go to sleep.
I thought I’d figured out what was wrong with me, and what would fix it.
After years and years of being a total fuckup and reading all these online redemption stories of “an adult diagnosis changed my life uwu.”
Don’t get me wrong, sleep is a GODSEND, but I just want to be able to complete tasks with reasonable efficiency without procrastinating to manufacture urgency.
School is still nothing to me, I’ve learned to “trust the process” and still maintain a 4.0 since going back for my associates and bachelor’s, but god damn my life is a constant mess.
>>
>>76797998
Yup, I did realize I was self medicating in an attempt to manually regulate dopamine I wasn’t getting from its standard means- and I can drink an entire pot of coffee and it does fuck all.

I am sorry for hijacking your thread about sleep issues to shitpost about my ADHD, OP.
>>
>>76797985
The alcohol is what fucked your brain and your sleep.
>>
>>76798008
I have a crippling ADHD disorder and a doctor prescribes me with ritalin (only available option in my country), but the way it affects me is completely random some times it feels like a high other times it feels like a sedative. I recently tried 150ug LSD as a first timer and it felt very very sedative and I had a great sleep after the trip (which is the completely opposite of what LSD is supposed to do, people tend to be unable to sleep after a trip)
>>
>>76798073
Ritalin is junk. And don't take any more drugs. You will permanently fry your brain one day. Modafinil is available over the counter in a lot of countries and is dirt cheap as a generic.
>>
>>76798073
Yeah Ive tried dexedrine and ritalin and am a non responder to both. I also get paradoxical reactions like you to nearly everything I try

Psychedelics are heralded for neurodivergents so shrooms are next on the list. I already did a few 1g moderate dose trips and really liked how they made me feel, so I've been building up the balls to dive into a hero dose. I strangely get a huge productivity boost, leading me to think theres more to the serotonin pathways concerning ADHD than the ways doctors just recline the fuck out of dopamine

Start committing nightly crimes like people who had same issue and couldn't work in the morning did.
>>
>>76798069
Nah mane, I problems with sleep long before alcohol.
It even states that in the post, not trying to be a dick but you might wanna work on your reading comprehension.
It was just the “conclusion” I arrived at, which ended up just being this cyclical hell, and drunk sleep isn’t even real sleep anyways.
It definitely didn’t help, though. That’s for sure.
I’m doing alright now, but that’s all thanks to a paradoxical reaction to amphetamines- which really just makes it easier to stay asleep and go back to sleep, especially if I have to get up to take a leak or get some water, or let my cat inside or whatever.
It’s so tight to be able to just focus on a babbling brook or whatever calm thing I think to think of, that used to be literally fucking impossible.
What actually puts me to sleep is alprazolam (my doctor and I settled on that after years and years of trial and error, it didn’t actually work but allowed me to smoke enough to make myself fall asleep without giving myself a genuine panic attack).
Not sleeping for days at a time and only ever getting two or three hours consecutive TOPS (usually an hour, hour and a half) and considering that a fucking blessing was such a curse, man.
It’s also absolutely horrible for you, but I just got some blood work back and I’m doing fucking great apparently.
>>
>>76797918
Ah yes, I don't need no sleep if I don't have a job, thanks dad.
t, pushing 30's and never had a job and never will.
>>
>>76798069
Although straight up, drinking a handle a day for a decade really did fuck up my brain chemistry.
I didn’t have anxiety like this before doing that, and I’m pretty pissed at myself for doing this to myself.
I miss when I thought panic attacks were fake, god damn.
Post acute withdrawal syndrome is a motherfucker, I’m just glad I made it through the anhedonia.
I also legally died at one point and was on dialysis for a while because my kidneys didn’t come back (at first).
It’s a miracle I got off dialysis, apparently that almost never happens.
But according to that bloodwork I mentioned, kidney and liver levels are “above average bordering on outstanding.”
They ought to study my body for science.
>tfw asked my doctor to check my test levels and they’re high 1100s
I didn’t sleep for like 48 hours before the test in an effort to lower them lmao

I have no idea how I got so lucky, it’s proof that this world is absolute chaos.
>>
>>76798293
The only proof I got reading your drivel is that you're schizophrenic and have liver disease.
>>
>>76798296
And the only thing I got from reading your response is that your reading comprehension is still subpar, even when reminded you might need to take a beat.
It’s alright man, I believe if you study hard enough you’ll find it in yourself to comprehend simple narratives and concepts.
Just be patient with yourself, lord knows everyone else has to.
>>
>>76798291
You’re on a fitness board, m8.
I’d gather that’s what he was alluding to.
>>
>>76798322
I'm on a retarded nigger board, it's irrelevant what you do during the day, if you don't get enough sleep you will feel like crap and be unable to get anything done.
>>
>>76798355
Holy shit man, it’s like you simultaneously can and cannot read.
>>
>>76798394
Kill yourself retarded niggercattle. You don't lift nor sleep properly, I didn't ask for your worthless DYEL opinion.
>>
>>76798355
>>76798355
Do you have a complete inability to infer meaning from shit you’ve just read?
Like some kind of reading autism?
For someone that can technically read, your reading comprehension is hands down the worst I’ve ever encountered in a (medically) functional adult, and that’s counting the summer I was a TA for a dropout prevention program at a local community college.
>>
>>76798405
I’m literally lifting right now because my favorite hours are when the gym is dead.
I’ve been arguing with you during my rests, haha.
Go get a job or lift.
Honestly, just go lift.
Hopefully you can do that without bothering anyone else, I wouldn’t want to saddle someone unfortunate with the burden of interacting with you.
>>
>>76798417
You don't lift anything.
>>
>>76797828
Be consistent. Go to bed and wake up at the exact same time 7 days a week. Soon you won’t even need an alarm, and you’ll get consistent high quality sleep
>>
>>76798073
>>76798149
Carnivore diet fixs ADHD but doctors dont tell you this because they dont get kickbacks from pharma companies then lol
>>
>>76797888
Agreed but Alprazolam is superiour to Diazepam for quick sleeping since it's metabolites linger in the bloodstream for far less time. Diazepam leaves me groggy in the morning whereas Alprazolam does not.
>>
>>76798149
>Yeah Ive tried dexedrine and ritalin and am a non responder to both.
I thought the same but cranking my dexedrine way high actually helped
>>
>>76797913
Same problem here. Sometimes I wake up because of my arms going numb from me sleeping on my side. What wakes you up?
>>
>>76797828
I juggle melatonine, doxylamine, zolpidem, weed and alcohol so I don't become too dependant on them. Also the us military pilot method works somewhat well
