Try a heavier rep range. They tend to be more consistent in that regard. Unless you have issues initiating the lift because of some leverage issue or some kind of bottleneck created by short romming your way up.

For the short rom bottleneck you just do a set of fullrom mixed into your normal sets. For the leverages issue get a spotter or change lifts.

I dont do progressive overload on most muscles because they've peaked to the point and size that I like. My diet has lots of junk in it because having muscle makes me fucking hungry always and I dont always have protein available.
